  25. 1) We don't condone the Iraq war. The largest protest in our history was against it. 2) The Iraq war wasn't conducted by "the west", but by 4 countries; the US, Poland, Britain, and Canada. Other "the west" countries opposed it, notably Germany and France.

  37.  @davidholgate123  it's a generational conflict. The older generation can't accept that Britain is a normal country, much as the older generation of russians can't. It's caused both countries huge problems of course, as it did Germans in the interwar years, but eventually these countries too will find their place in the world, as Germany eventually did.

  38.  @CynthiaEwersCobb  it can be done gradually. Entering a customs union does not require formal membership, and later we can join the free trade area without any bloodshed. We can have a Norway style arrangement in 10 or 15 years. The next generation will take us back in 10 years after that.

  47. ​ @mikedavis6690 your figures, like Trump's language, are wildly inflated. The US has spent 14 billion on buying weapons for Ukraine and 71 billion on building new weapons for its own military. It has given Ukraine mothballed stocks it was planning to replace or in the process of replacing.
