There used to be private firefighters. We got rid of them for a reason.

Darn right! The corporate powers that be are hoping you give up, because there are more of us than there are of them; we have the vote and the ability to organize.
70
Proud to have been responsible for four of those. Onward and upward!

@lohphat Before Bernie started winning elections, Vermont was the most Republican state in American history. When he first got elected to Congress, only one Democrat had ever carried the state's electoral votes in one election (1964) in fifty tries. You'll never see a streak like that again. To this day, only two people have ever been elected to the Senate as Democrats in Vermont. He helped lead Vermont away from conservatism, and he was far more of a team player after losing in 2016 than any Presidential candidate in history. If Hillary tried as hard to elect herself as Bernie did, we may have suffocated fascism in the crib instead of letting it fester.

We have defeated the fascist, but we must continue to fight fascism and its enablers. If you want anything done, we have to help Warnock and Ossoff over the line in Georgia to give Bernie the gavel.

As an alumnus and former member of TUGSA, the administration thought that we were really stupid. Around 2009-10, the adjuncts were trying to organize, and they sent these e-mails saying, "If you are a union worker, you have to take the pay scale, but if you're independent, you're free to ask for more," as if the adjuncts weren't already on a scale. They want to get rid of tenured professors and turn everyone into low-income adjuncts. The administration is the living embodiment of "knows the cost of everything and the value of nothing." Thank you for bringing this to light, Bernie!

@ThreeFingerG "the ingenious ways it is possible to yield money" Bootlickers are just sad. You are hanging on a turn of phrase because I didn't feel like pointing out the "clever" ways that they make sure that all the money goes to themselves and very little to those without whom they'd have nothing. As Abraham Lincoln reminded us, capital is the fruit of labor, it could not exist unless labor existed first, and it deserves the higher consideration. And this "ingenious wielding of wealth" is, in many cases, ways to say that the people who earned them the money get nothing or just enough over nothing to keep them desperate.
31
@matthewviramontes3131 The guy who could barely control his anger when he got called out by Amy Klobuchar? The one who got angry when people pointed to his wine cave fundraiser?
26
Another OIF veteran for Bernie here.
22
Pennsylvania Bernie supporter who cast a vote for Biden two weeks ago. #ByeDon
21
@laquishdanish3386 Campaign means different things. He knows he won't be the nominee, but if he gets to 25% of the delegate count, we can force a minority report, which the DNC won't want, so that will force them to negotiate.
16
Great work! Don't forget to knock on doors, make calls, and talk to your friends. We can do this!
16
@ThreeFingerG For the sake of argument, let's assume that you're right and billionaires really are hardworking people who put in all these hours. Never mind the fact that once you get rich enough, you bring in money so fast that it's nearly impossible to spend it all and depending on how your wealth is amassed, your kids get it all tax free, but do you really think that the average billionaire works thousands or millions of times harder than the average worker? The ones who have seen stagnant wages while productivity doubled. "Thank you, sir, may I have another?"
14
@ThreeFingerG So, you insist that you are the "liberty lover," but you think that you have the exclusive rights for the usage of a word used for people who kiss up to the boss? Self-awareness isn't your strong suit, is it? Re: whose onus it is, funny that every time workers try to do just that, the "liberty crowd" uses the power of government to intervene against us. The only "freedom" you value is the value of the rich to lord it over the poor.
14
Indeed. I ran for a seat in the WV House of Delegates 15 years ago, and once I got to the Republican strongholds in the county, I kept hearing complaints about regulation. After this happened a few times, I started asking which regulations were excessive. In the end, only one person gave an answer, and while it was a reasonable answer (too much red tape to get a billboard approved), most of the time it was just vague anti-government nonsense.
14
@publicutility So, income taxes, direct election of Senators, women's suffrage mean nothing to you? He was at the forefront of each of those efforts.
13
@chadfren Says the man with a flag of treason on his profile pic.
13
@robinlillian9471 Maybe if she didn't do bad things, we wouldn't criticize her for doing them.
13
Darn right! I want my four-year-old daughter to have a bright future and a habitable world.
13
@arod6789 So, the people have to pay for education, but the rich get to keep all of their tax loopholes and corporate welfare? "I love the poorly educated!" Donald Trump
12
His includes every single American.
12
When Pete Buttigieg was in college, he thought it was ridiculous that students would fight for fair wages for janitors. When Bernie was in college, he fought for civil rights. Do the right thing, Iowa!
12
Lord Shazam It's Republicans who gutted the VA.
12
@hadguy1 He didn't become a millionaire until he was 75 and his book became a bestseller. Hardly an example of someone exploiting others.
11
@Ozan edwards *since 1962
11
Remember when Katie Porter got out a budget for how much it costs to live in Irvine, CA, and asked how he expected someone to live on that, and he couldn't come up with the obvious answer of "pay them better"? He can afford it. Does he really need that extra ivory backscratcher?
11
Well, you had Corbyn. Unfortunately, he gained the Leader seat before defeating the Blairites who then sabotaged him.
10
@itsaaronlolz Wonderful news! Some candidates have plans or wealthy benefactors, but Bernie has an army.
10
I think that quote about wealth and democracy is a Brandeis quote.
9
It's Bernie's party now :-)
9
[In Dr. Evil voice]: They're the Diet Coke of Bernie. Just one calorie. Not Bernie enough.
9
@joemann7971 You mean the guy who wanted to use a regressive tax to pay for it and force people to choose between their current benefits and his plan, thus making it even more regressive? And Bernie does not favor UBI, he favored emergency payments for the duration of the virus. Richard Wolff put it best: UBI is a failure of imagination. If workers had control, they could use that technology to double their wages and cut their hours so they can enjoy more leisure time.
9
Tony Mario The people who are fine with tens of thousands of people dying every year for lack of money when we could just treat it as a public service and pay for it that way, like we do with education, police, and fire.
9
Does he also have some if your free time to convince others? We can do this!
9
40 year old for Bernie.
9
It takes time to build a successful movement. Bernie turned out to be our Moses showing the way, but if we do the actual work, we'll get our Joshua.
8
@JustMe-ec2ph And that is why you're not Bernie. He isn't guided by ego, but by trying to make the world a better place.
8
The others are Diet Coke and New Coke. Vote Bernie: he's the real thing!
8
Joe Curr How much do you get paid every time you copy and paste?
8
It was even closer than that. If Trump had won Georgia (16), Arizona (11), and Wisconsin (10), Biden would be under 270. His combined margin in those three states? 44,000 votes. This is obscene.
8
@miscaccount9438 One is a fascist. The other has a wing that is fine with the status quo and a wing that wants to make things better. Give me the latter any day of the week.
7
@arod6789 And they have a far more generous social safety net than we do, but even if you don't want to compare to Nordic countries, the United States used to offer free tuition (UC system before Reagan, SUNY, CUNY, among others), so why can't we do it now? Because of this rampant anti-tax ideology.
7
@undead9999 Don't feed the anti-Semitic troll. This poster put some vile stuff in another thread that I reported and will not repeat here.
7
@plasmaplasmajohndoe5012 Is anyone taking away your right to speak in a public space? If you want to whine about the First Amendment, maybe take your hood off long enough to realize what it actually guarantees, and understand that it is the right of decent people everywhere to call someone out for spreading vile hatred.
7
Because their wealth was only made possible through unfair tax laws that they lobbied for and refusing to pay the people who made their wealth possible decent wages.
7
@Nuke 'EmAll What else would you rather he do with the leftover money?
7
@whiskeymonk4085 Yeah, you're just trolling for Dear Leader. Well, the algorithm thanks you for your engagement, which brings more people to see the video.
7
@suzettebavier4412 Darn right! His slogan was "Not Me, Us" for a reason. It is no coincidence that his political hero said, "I am not a leader of the labor movement or some sort of Moses. If I were able to lead you into the Promised Land, someone else could just as easily lead you out."
7
@marvinstutzman432 If you don't vote, then you can't complain.
6
@yoomsuu These people aren't really Bernie supporters. They are trolls.
