@abrahamkandathil-6036 Are you a brainwashed Trump University grad? Herman Cain thought it was no big deal, too. He also thought he was getting better about three weeks before he died.

You're thinking of an Andy Griffith episode. Barney gives Goner a ticket for an illegal U-turn, and Gomer wants Barney to let him off because they're friends. Barney says that it is his job to enforce the law, and if someone sees him engaging in an illegal act, he'd expect that person to put him hnder citizens arrest. Barney makes a U-turn when pulling out, and Gomer yells, "Citizens Arrest!"

Let us not forget how quickly the GOP put Bush down the memory hole, and he won a second term. If you are seen as a failure, they will find some way to insist that part of the logical contradictions inherent in movement conservatism means that they didn't follow something that means that they somehow didn't count to discredit their movement. I, for one, am sick and tired of hearing that Trump isn't conservative. Yes, he is more anti-left than doctrinaire, but he is the logical conclusion of the past 60 years of the conservative movement and ideology.

"If Tucker Carlson were really a right-wing populist..." True, but there is no such thing.

In 2013 and '14, I really wanted Warren to run. I remember seeing Bernie on The Ed Show and saying that if no one would run who would fight Wall Street greed, he would, so it seemed to me like he did, too. Now that I've experienced the Bernie campaign, the promises of Warren just seem lacking.
5
Because anyone looking honestly at a candidate who, by his own admission, said that he got rid of a black police chief who was trying to expose racism on his force for fear that such an expose would "damage credibility of convictions" is going to find a lot wrong.
5
My preferred mockery of "a republic not a democracy" is pointing out that this is the equivalent of saying, "It's not a grape, it's purple."
5
I was at a school board meeting the other night because I felt that they were too eager to lift mask restrictions, and these idiots were saying some of the most ridiculous stuff. One got mad about posters that said "heroes wear masks," others were apparently unfamiliar with the idea that you can wipe glasses off when they get foggy, and others insisted that they should follow the science. The most annoying was saying "cases are going down," when the levels are still far above what they were during the Delta surge. It really makes you fear for humanity.
5
She needs to run in 2028 after eight years of President Bernie.

Bill O'Reilly Protege: You shouldn't trust the media. Also Bill O'Reilly Protege: Listen to me, a cable TV pundit.

His plan had long been to wait until closer to the actual voting to get more aggressive. Considering the timing of his rise, and the fact that candidates who relied on a sugar rush have either dropped to normal (Warren and Buttigieg) or came crashing down (Harris). As any distance runner can tell you, the goal is to be ahead in the last lap, not the first lap.
5
I'm 40, and to quote the great legal mind Vincent Gambini, "I got no more use for this guy."
5
Before he sold out and became a corporate lobbyist, Barney Frank spelled it out: there is no such thing as a moderate Republican in Congress. They say that they voted with the President 70% of the time, but they voted with him 100% of the time when he needed their vote.
5
Well, Protestants don't believe it's the literal body and blood of Christ. That being said, this guy's fake religiosity knows no bounds. Even if he doesn't know the words, you could at least look at the paper and pretend.
5
So, someone who gets in a fight and breaks someone's arm can't vote, but someone who pushes a button on a computer and steals $100MM can?
5
Exactly. My daughter asked me to take her to Disney World a couple of months ago. I politely told her that we didn't have the money, they were closed, and everyone I know who went there only got to ride five or six lines with the rest of the time waiting, because I am responsible. She was still upset, but I pointed out other things that we got to do. Surely, someone of his intellect could talk preteens down if I could talk down a five year old.
5
I don't think it's much of a secret at this point.

Not everyone has Internet. #ThisIsWhatPrivilegeLooksLike

My city is putting up some places to drop off mail in ballots early. I will definitely be going to drop it off.
4
That's a general election strategy. Would you rather Martha McSally be there to give control of the calendar to McConnell?
4
The rank and file, I don't understand, but he has given the fundamentalists just about everything they ever asked for, so they made a deal with the devil. Or maybe the Antichrist.
4
@frankk8905 They are endangering others around them. We are not. That is the difference.
4
"The press is ridiculous. If we say '20 and 20 make 42,' and the Republicans say '20 and 20 make 42 million,' they say, 'Well, you're both wrong with the numbers.'" James Carville, "The War Room"
4
Agreed completely, except for the fact that Puerto Rico is a US territory.
4
All a republic means is that there is no monarch. "We're a republic, not a democracy" is the equivalent of saying, "It's not a grape, it's purple!"
4
I would call Turtle a POS, but manure is useful.
4
The instant he talks about how white somewhere was and then mentions how beautiful it was in the next sentence, that is clearly racism as well.
4
AOC 2028! Assuming Bernie wins next year, of course.
4
And too brown for them. And not speaking English and a former refugee? Oh, He'd check so many of their boxes of hate!
4
I'm up to $35.20. I donate whenever I have extra.
4
@peterblood50 Well, how many can be the newsman his father was? I have no problem with someone being a conservative as long as that person does his/her level best to come at it through an honest place, although they do seem to support a conservatism that no longer exists, at least in large numbers in today's American right. He can better, but I will give him credit that he does seem to be speaking more truth to lying liars recently.
4
Italian used to be considered not white in America.
4
Delaney is defending the health insurance industry because he doesn't want his stock to go down.
4
Lobbyists have to either have expertise or a working relationship with Congress. She wants to be a talking head. It's lucrative and easy.
4
Wake up you sleepy head. Close your eyes, get out of bed. Ding dong the wicked Don is gone!
4
The Fox personality apparently speaking from experience.
4
There have to be some rules about hormones when it comes to competition. I read last year that the Boston Marathon was making no efforts to verify when MTF submitted their qualifying times. The big problem with this is that just barely qualifying is often not enough, because the field size is capped. That year, anyone who beat the qualifying time by less than 1:47 were removed from the list. Women of the same age get an extra half hour. Do I think that there are people unscrupulous enough to fake it to qualify? You bet, I do!
4
@aliman6377 Well, the centrists are basically Republicans who don't like discrimination, and scared lefties (the kind who say things like, "I like Bernie, but I don't think he can win" or "we need to be practical and get what we can") and Obama nostalgia account for the rest.
4
@aliman6377 Agreed. This is why we all need to work and work hard.
4
And then gives the same xenophobic rhetoric as her life insurance policy.
4
Don't insult the great comedic mastermind who brought joy to millions like that.
4
"When you have privilege, equality feels like oppression."
4
@paulweaver7074 If you need a dollar, you don't start by asking for a quarter. This just shows that they won't fight even for their own half measures. If Bernie wins, he will do so with a multi-million person army behind him just ready to be mobilized on its behalf. Manchin says that he won't be pressured to adopt it? Well, he outspent his primary opponent by a 100:1 ratio, and she still got 30% of the vote. He won the general by three points and finished below 50% in a general election statewide for the first time ever. He will know which side his bread is buttered on.
4
Most people that rich get an increase in assets of more than 2% just by breathing. Even if we implement that tax, it will have no effect for them.
4
@DFV Louderilk Yeah, I've spent my whole life hearing you right wingers whining about how everything is against you: journalism, schools, bureaucracy, entertainment, etc. If you're not saying you're persecuted, you aren't talking.
4
The difference this time is that people know who Bernie is, and they like his policies, so they will be unsuccessful. The fact that Bernie already has more Congressional endorsements than in the entire 2016 cycle, despite other colleagues running this time, so some know which way the tide is going.

A Jewish fascist whose family lost people in the Holocaust. How much more ridiculous of a person could he possibly be?
3
A lot of senior citizens do get Medicaid, either as a supplement to pay for what Medicare doesn't, nursing home care, or simply to cover the Medicare Part B premium. They would care greatly about cuts to Medicaid.
3
Well, why do you think that he congratulated the second draft pick but not the first?
3
3:08 Oh, she'll never become a lobbyist. Lobbyists have to actually work, and it requires knowledge on an issue and good relationships with Members of Congress, neither of which she possesses. She's much more likely to be a talking head: it's lucrative and easy. You don't even have to kmow what you're talking about.
