  1. +guadalupe perez You are right that they do prefer local students, but to say race is not involved is simply not true. It is. Universities try to get a certain percentage of certain races at times. One example is graduate school when I was applying. I was told as a white guy I have an advantage because they had a cut off of foreigners for graduate school. As my old adviser said, we are dumb in the US. So it goes several ways but race is involved.

  31.  @mattbenz99  , Kyle's fans don't understand economics or the market. What you said is correct. Bezos does not have billions in liquidated wealth, he has billions in stocks. If he tried to liquidate his stock all at once, or in large amounts, the value will drop a lot. Taxing the rich is not easy and taxing wealth is essentially impossible which is why many Nordic countries stopped doing it.

  35. A direct democracy means the majority oppresses the minority. Also, the general public is typically not informed enough to make decisions on important issues which is why a direct democracy is not always best, especially at the federal level.

  37. Entitlements cost way more than defense. Also, over the past decades defense spending has been dropping where entitlements have been increasing if you look at it in terms of percent GDP.

  38. Defense spending is less than 4% of GDP, healthcare is 1/6 of that. Cutting defense down to zero will not cover healthcare. Taxing the rich at 100% will not cover it either. Please go back and learn some 2nd grade math.

You will be hard pressed to find a source that give a quantitative value on how much man is playing a role. What Chris Wallace is doing is playing a game of words. One, saying it is a "major" contributor is something you can't say for sure. And also, what if people like Wallace is wrong? It goes both ways.
