The 48 h rule in Sweden is to see if it is a common cold or something else harmless. If a person is infected with the Wuhan virus he would certainly not be better 2 days later. The class bubbles is basically what Singapore does, with no negative effect that I would know of. I am not sure of you really understood the Swedish model, which certainly did have it's problems. But so did other countries with different models.

The draping tunnel shows that they worry about transmission through air
4
He has caught a common flu it seems.
4
If you know already it will be pandemic and hit the majority of populace, why spend money on further testing? That's not me, that how they might think.
4
@Shizhe Hu They let them go and then close doors. 11000 people from Hubei came to Singapore, about 5000 from Wuhan. When do you finally stop talking bullshxt? Be quiet now. I've heard enhough of the Chinese shxt.
4
Go to the countryside and have least contact to people possible.
4
Fully support your conclusion, John. Better 2 months economy screeching to a halt than later half the world infected and everything abruptly stops. I forwarded your explanation to other places higher up than me.
4
Dr. Drosten thinks the intermediate host was most likely a raccoon dog.
4
I viewed a motorcycle travel video, and they passed villages in North Vietnam that were blocked off. One village shown usually had lively border traffic with China, but the border was closed. An amusement park was closed. That was in early January. I thought the Chinese warned the Vietnam government early. You should write up your text a little bit sorted, otherwise people may think: He is having a very lively imagination.
4
Israel has paid double the price for procuring the vaccine, as compared to the official price. That is why they get so many stocks. You are always trying to avoid politics, but this is political. Mr. Netanyahu wants to make sure he will get the votes during the coming elections.
4
By end of December 2019 Taiwan sent health inspectors straight into aeroplanes arriving from Hubei, before they even let a passenger out. That was the first action they took. On 13 January 2020 they send some investigations team to Wuhan, who reported back. Apparently what they were not allowed to see was more informative, then what they were shown. Afterwards Taiwan acted decisive, pro-active and logical. That is why Taiwan was well-prepared, and they knew what they need to do, and - important! - ready to ignore the WHO recommendations and the protests notes by the Chinese government.

The current coward at the top there should be removed, and offered a job as a nurse in a Wuhan hospital. He said several times he likes very much what the Chinese do. So I guess that job would be very desirable for him.
4
Dr. Christian Drosten from Germany is as well a straightforward guy with the rare skill to explain scientific issues in words that everyone can understand. I wish the politicians would step back for the time being and let these kind of people some more room. And another wish for the future is that people (relearn) to think about the humans and our earth first, for everything that we do, produce, or when choosing as our leaders. Leaders such as Mr. Trump are unacceptable.
4
Such people usually don't have much intention to party, and don't have legions of friends.
4
A relevant organization should fund a website for him and let him just focus on daily updates, public information and analysis. Basically what he's doing now but on a more professional level.
4
@nigeljohnson9820 thanks for the reply Nigel. I haven't met anyone with that fear. Have not been out for months. :) That was a joke, I was of course out. I was actually asking +where+ is that? Now I know you guys are talking UK.
4
Karen Byrd I have no idea what are his plans and what he is doing in detail. But if I had that kind of wealth, I would 100 % think the same: Do something that really makes a big difference to mankind.
4
I believe you are right. And on top of that, many are unwilling to follow any rules during their holidays. I see black for the coming cold season.
4
That they did not include both parties having the masked cage was a big miss, IMO. The efficacy is actually proven by life. Hong Kong and Taiwan ignored the WHO and had masks wearing early on. Both countries belong to the group with the best records.
4
@ghost666recon who told you this nonsense? Avoid this person in future.
4
Jonnie Walker I don't know if you are truly interested in facts, or are one of these flat-earthers who believe in 5G or bio-weaponry. Ok here we go. If untreated the virus makes that your lungs will not be able to well transport oxygen into your blood. Your organs will be in constant undersupply with oxygen, which will cause organ failure. People with heart problems and diabetes are most affected. Muslim people are having exactly these ailments überproportional often.
4
Exactly. And there are still people who want to keep this organization.
4
1.4 billion people and 90,000 cases
4
The managers of this crisis should be health professionals, not business managers.
4
@mooseloose3231 That's an intense hotspot. How many % people are infected in total in the US? - Herd immunity takes either years at a low death rate but at cost of the death of the entire economy - or a shorter time span of about 12 - 18 months with horrible death rates. There is a mathematics channel. The guy has calculated example models. Search it yourself.
4
Bad answer. Every doctor should be able to tell until there is a vaccine, or until the virus runs out of steam. A vaccine is not available until mid of next year at least. The virus running on empty, probably another 18 - 14 months from now.
4
May be everything IS under control. If that what happens is what they want to happen, then everything is under control.
4
Majic C People can buy his books if they want to support him and gain more knowledge at the same time.
4
Sweden = 500 death per 1 million people, UK 626 deaths per 1 million people
4
The Biontech/Pfizer is not as bad regarding storage as people thought. -70 C is true, but that can be done with an insulated container and dry ice. Pfizer said they have such containers developed. This should not be a problem at least for developed countries. The Astrazenica does need freezers, in poorer countries that likely means people will use household freezers. Moderna an be stored long term at -20 C, and can withstand up to 30 days at 2 - 8 C. There will be one by Curvac that has also over 90 % efficacy, needing similar storage conditions as the Moderna vaccine.
4
Taiwan and it's people is the living proof that all the dirt, lack of hygiene and bad behaviour are not "genetic flaws" of Chinese.
4
The inability of many from the current generation of leaders to manage decisively and assertively is glaring.
4
I just wanted to add, Mr. Streeck who is leading the study is one of the top virologists in Germany. His work is not finished but may deliver some fundamental insights. What Lucas reported is only a primarily first conclusion. As well, Germany is intensively working to map a significant part of the German population. The aim is to first have overview revealing more about the spread and effecting on different population groups by end of April, and later develop strategic methods to prevent / control the spread better. Projects I would have expected from the WHO to be initiated.
4
@stuartday1876 Instead, they have cutting edge air-con
4
@Danafondo ... and then, the meat factories in Germany are the clusters. They have operating temperatures that are close to winter temperatures. This should be a strong warning for the coming winter season!

It appears to me that Asians have a problem to understand the entire concept of viruses, which why measures implemented by authorities fail. I see the same here in Singapore in the general public. People who had been diagnosed positive by doctors and ordered home quarantine still went to work church, etc.. At the same time the WHO praises Singapore for "leaving no stone unturned" in fighting the spread. The Chinese acting better and systematical not because they are cleverer, but simply because the government uses Draconian force.
3
A colleague in London got infected, probably. Test result available within 7 days he was told. You might as well save the money and time spend on testing. If you do not do something effective NOW, in 6 weeks your entire country will be down.
3
@norceros xD Dr. Li said by end of December that is closely resembles Sars virus. I read a translation of the original discussion, which had been removed bybChinse Wechat trolls the same day it was discussed. I also read the translated copy of the letter he had to sign at the police station. That should have put up all alarm bells and red lights. A doctor has the right to discuss medical issues with his colleagues, he has the duty to warn, including should he sometimes gives overly careful warnings. However, everybody please understand I am not wishing for an anti-Chinese discussion. Please discuss reasonable. All I want is Chinese and everybody learns from what happened.
3
@dilyszdh Fascism: Authoritarian ultranationalism, characterized by dictatorial power, forcible suppression of opposition and strong regimentation of society and of the economy, leadership cult.
3
10 scientists go on a nice trip to China for receiving the official statement of the CCP, where the virus originated from 27:35 . Close the WHO.

use + , ++ , +++
3
@johnwang9914 They reacted slow and "weird" first. But you are right, then more consequent than others.
3
@johnblackwell2065 typically you will be issued a warning letter first. But I don't elaborate further, as this is not the subject here. Singapore's CFR is 0.05 %, the UK's is 14.9 %. I do not think the UK has done anything well here. The toplist of countries with high CFR is mostly a display of countries with bad governance (or poverty).
3
@nn-uj1iv Singapore is literally drug-free. There are no high as a kite people on public toilets, no used needles on playgrounds, and nobody will approach my son outside the school compound. The vast majority of Singaporeans will tell you something different in particular about this kind of minor offence. So can we please stop now and stay with the subject?
3
I also think the way how these numbers are categorized is misleading. Counting the accumulated numbers of total infections, for example. Per 1 million populace would be saying much more, for death cases the same. For development and trends what the OP suggested. But that criticism does not change what Dr. Campbell demonstrated, which is the efficacy of the measures Australia implemented.
3
get it measured by a pro
3
Move far to the north to place with very little contacts to others, stay there until at least the end of this year. I wish I could do the same. But I am in Singapore, the only place here I can be alone is a coffin.
3
@paulg8730 They want to live like that, with all their deficiencies and occasional chaos. Don't worry is not just a say. It is the lifestyle there. But when it comes to managing crisis, they are really good. As we see now. Hope you can re-unite soon!
3
I disagree with the WHO stating this being the last chance for finding out the origin. It will come out anyway, if not now and not with the help of China, then in other ways. Their teams have been kept for a joke twice already. The Chinese got themselves rolling over the floor laughing after they left, both times. This WHO needs to go.

"Shyness" towards sun exposure is practised everywhere in Asia. That is the reason why women want to be snow-white, and companies sell whitening products and sun blocks to great success.
