Tsai Ing-wen is perfectly welcome to come to the United States as is Xi Jinping is. I have every confidence that when Mainland China has the same rights and processes the citizens of Taiwan enjoy, there will be unification. As for the members of the U.S. Congress, it is their job to keep fully informed on the issues of the day such as developments in Asia.

The U.S. blows up balloons, Russia blows up people's homes.

@r9sog In 2001 Wenzhou, China where 43 people died and 210 injured. What made the story more interesting is what the government did cleaning up the wreck. There have been other accidents sometimes involving deaths of riders. Deutsche Bahn is German government owned. There was a plan to sell part ownership to private parties but there was no follow through.

I was having a discussion with a fellow from Africa, He gave something of a rant of U.S. trade relations and that the United States was taking an advantage of his country exploiting it. I pointed out his country has a nice sized trade surplus with the United States while his country had a good sized trade deficit with China. I pointed out the money (profit) they made on trade with the U.S. was just being turned over to pay their bill with China (a loss). He got quiet after that. Do many Africans have a concept of trade and profit?

@rts3822 You are wrong, China is dependent on trade. Look at their import/export numbers.

@garyddlewis3067 How many times has NATO attacked Russia? Please keep in mind Russia invaded Ukraine, Ukraine did not invade Russia. Putin is going around now saying Ukraine was going to attack them. Ukraine didn't have an offensive army, they barely has a defensive army.
3
@MuxauJ7 I asked: "How many times has NATO attacked Russia?" I appreciate you want to paint Russia the soiled virgin and your history edits are not lost on me. But my point remains unchanged, Russia invaded Ukraine and their approach has lead to a deranged economic order worldwide. What exactly has Putin accomplished by creating a huge mess? If you need an example of the damage one man can do, Vladimir Putin is a prime example. And the world thought Donald Trump was the problem.

Zimbabwe did more damage to Zimbabwe than the U.S. could.

Much of the wealth gap is paper and not actual cash. True wealth only occurs when assets are sold and the owner has actual cash.

LOL

If you send a balloon over a military installation, it will get shot down.

Every time I Noam Chomsky I think he needs to retire. I have tried listening to him several times and in the end, he seems like the typical Left Wing academic.

This video is very short on details. One should note this video plays freely in the United States on a Chinese government sponsored website :)
3
This video comes after a rather dramatic display of showing how China can easily snuff out Tiawan.
3
She is understandable.
3
The Prime Minister's Questions- that is democracy at work. It brings forth not only the ideas but the emotions. It is the people speaking, loudly.
3
Basically your are saying China needs a few welfare states to round out their foreign policy portfolio.
3
As the man said in the video, different practices for different countries. So they can not call the various systems by the same name.

Western clothing is useful because it is safer around industrial machinery. When Japan modernized, women would work in the mills and suffer injury as their robes got caught in moving parts. Plus western clothing enhances the appearance by forcing the eye to look at the person, not the clothing. If you look at the cut of her outfit, your eyes are directed to watch Liu Xin, not her clothing.

What is being ignored is many of these countries were so politically unstable it was dangerous to invest in them.
3
I hope their recovery is painless as possible.

The U.S. is the single largest financial supporter of the U.N. :)

It is nice to know you care :)

Alvin Bragg is a fine model of why some American cities have deteriorated. All showboating but little ability. By the way, the Democrats want Trump to be popular.
2
None of this would be a problem if Russia didn't invade Ukraine. This is Putin's War and it was started because of Putin's ego. He wanted to be a tough guy. The end result: Old ladies have no place to live in Ukraine and China's economy is taking a hit. I am not sure why China would say anything remotely in defense of Russia.
2
@misterhill5598 Democracy depends on open debate and yes, even hurt feelings.
2
This show didn't answer the question it asked. It was just an anti Trump spasm.
2
I didn't follow Lula too closely but he didn't seem to come from the looney Left. He seemed perfectly happy to see the economy grow because it gave him more tax money to build up social programs.

For a discount, India will be your friend too.

So, how much money will China be giving Honduras? This is about money.

@Makare H. Selective truth.

@covertpuppytwo3857 It is a most Russian thing to do.

Policy disagreements no matter how severe is not racism.

Covid did come from a certain country in Asia and some people who immigrated from that same unnamed country in Asia could be carrying and bringing Covid into the U.S. Then again, that same unnamed country in Asia also blocked people from coming into their country because they though those incoming people could be carrying Covid.

This video whispers to me that China is scared.

The U.S., IMF and others have forgiven debt just as China has. What types of loans and how much has been forgiven? Also many of these projects do not pay for themselves so these recipients of loans may not have the capital to operate the new infrastructure they now have. Also, Russia will cause an economic slowdown and Chinese workers will probably pay the cost through job loss. China may learn the meaning of "friends without limits".

I hope someday I can take these two men seriously.

@KrazeDiamond Ever hear of EMP bombs? They are unmanned too.
2
If one didn't know better, you would think this guy was created by Hollywood for a 1960's James Bond villain.
2
Yes. And the world will end tomorrow at 12 midnight.

Will it be easier to fix dents in your automobile side panels?

@marlmyster "What do you believe is or has been holding back Venezuela" Venezuela and their ignorant electorate.
2
@marlmyster How about we make this simple: Who voted for Chavez? Venezuela's economy was growing nicely but Hugo Chavez put a nice stop to that before it got out of hand.
2
Most of NATO is not Anglo-Saxon.
2
@davidstrbac5033 If they were, NATO would be ruling the world as you people like to suggest.
2
Actually the U.S. is jealous of Russia's free and open elections for president.
2
@anchored555 "or keep visiting the Yasukuni Shrine which honours 14 Class A war criminals" I think that is more a pray for their souls than to express admiration. A variety of soldiers are buried there and for the Japanese, you express a certain respect for their sacrifice, even if it came to a bad end. More a matter of they served their country. Even as the war was still going the Japanese began to realize they made a terrible mistake.

South America has been politically unstable for close to 200 years. You can look at Venezuela today, once thriving and and becoming wealthy, the Socialists came in to save the country. Same for Bolivia, a Socialist became president and decided he deserve more time in office than their Constitution allowed. He had to be shown the door. Nicaragua, well... what can be said. A Socialist came in to save them too. Cuba, another Socialist success story.

@pottedrodenttube American Exceptionalism was a term used to describe an era in the early days citizens would band together to accomplish a goal such as a public work without waiting for the government to do it. The author Alexis de Tocqueville (a Frenchman) thought this was exceptional compared to how many other societies operated. That is American Exceptionalism. As for the purpose of the U.S. Congress, I was merely pointing out their prescribed purpose. The U.S. House of Representatives is in the U.S. Constitution the eyes and ears and voice of the American public.

It would be foolish to think anyone would give you large amounts of money just to be nice.
