@ssamd263 You heard what you wanted to hear. McGovern didn't say anything he would bet the farm on.
2
The train accident was caused by a failed wheel bearing, not corporations controlling a country. Countries like Germany, France and Poland have quite a few rail accidents and their railroads are owned by the state.
2
If Russia didn't invade Ukraine, we would be talking about how the U.S. is beating up on China instead. Thanks to Russia we get a little variety in the news.
2
In sales, this woman's approach would be called the warm fuzzies. Say a lot of nice things but avoid the details.
2
@gags730 I am speaking of the 60's-80's and this applied to most of the countries. Rhodesia and South Africa were probably the most stable on the continent. Many are now a little more stable so it would be easier for the Chinese to march in, hand out money and go on about what they are doing in Africa. Many western countries tried to help but the results were negated by the constant upheaval of the period.
2
Eastern European countries had to live under the thumb of the Soviet Union. Keep that in mind.
2
@fongcheongyat1446 Memories remain of the Soviet days. Russia has never been an example of Western values. NATO doesn't get involved in day to day life.
2
Millions of Chinese emigrated to the United States not looking for predictability but for opportunity. And many have done very well. While some military actions have not worked well, others have. No complaints from China when the U.S. helped China free itself from Japanese occupation.
2
@ronniechew6566 Easiest way to find out is when the next batch of rocks come back from the moon, we'll see if there is a match or not with the ones Americans brought back. But the whole moon landing was actually done in a Hollywood film studio theory did amuse me.
2
@FrankiePo89 Years ago I was watching a news story about American Indians and it was pointed out by the reporter federally recognized tribes do poorly yet tribes not officially recognized by the federal government do quite well. Go figure.
2
@FrankiePo89 You mean, make a noise about a group no one cares about and finds them useful only as a tool to be critical of the U.S. And then to be forgotten again.
2
@mudshovel289 I said that the history is not hidden. First book I ever read on my own was about an American Indian.
2
@FrankiePo89 Frankie, the Chinese used to make killing each other an amusement enjoyed many times over through the centuries. By the way, was killing a bad thing when the U.S. helped liberate Asia from the Imperial Japanese? By the way, I have been looking for those billions. I have looked high, I have looked low and I can't find billions anywhere around here. Do you know where they are?
2
@ToiChutGongWu The question wasn't racist at all. But nice try :)
2
After getting some responses answered, I watched this video again. I kept thinking of the term Rootless Cosmopolitan.
2
There are several reasons for economic slowdowns but one I said has come to pass... China is paying for Putin's war. Friends without limits do not come cheap.
2
I see China is showing us how they work tirelessly for peace.
2
Now that is coming up on Spring, the French can start enjoying outdoor activities again.
2
BRICS= China gets to write more checks/cheques to more countries.
2
China has been trying to work their way into being seen as an Artic nation. A few good winter storms, ice starts reforming the Artic route won't be that useful except as an ice skating rink.
2
@axisgalaxis Hydrogen, nuclear are fine with me. It's just we won't be getting it done like yesterday. Being the practical fellow I am, use oil and replace with alternatives where ever possible. Solar and electric batteries are nice but we need real muscular options.
2
Shhhhh... the electoral college was designed to prevent anyone part of the country from gaining overwhelming power on the rest of the country. It makes sure every vote counts. Los Angeles and New York City can not gain unreasonable control of the United States. As a rule, majority vote still wins.
2
Has any other country created more jobs in any other country than the United States? China can not make the claim, neither can Russia, neither could India. I'd say the U.S. has helped a lot of people.
2
@rodrigo_dmatoss Why else would CGTN have him on? Jeffery delivers.
2
Looking at the photos the pipes seem to have a slight belling which would indicate an internal explosion. Only Russia could have accomplished that. Blowing up the pipes would prevent Germany from getting use out of near by sections for other projects.
2
Every country has them.
2
@hanna8418 Keep an eye and ear ready for what they do not tell you. That can be just as important as what they are saying. RT would go on about the United States... then do endless documentaries on the Russia back lands and the happy native people. And the natives were very happy.
2
@choifayue9848 "He and his wife are Russia citizens now, how do you like that?" I'm fine with it. I appreciate the irony of how his life turned out He gave up a great job in a fantastic location and he accomplished virtually nothing for his trouble. You have more surveillance than ever. It turns out his father lives near me.
2
@choifayue9848 We are being watched more than ever. Snowden did a little harm to the U.S. for a little while but he changed nothing. Everything you do on the internet is recorded. Your life can be reconstructed just by looking at your purchases. Even when you go for a walk, in many parts of the world you are being followed. I suppose you can call Snowden a romantic. That much I will give you.
2
Russia never had to attack Ukraine. Nothing occurring would have affected Russia in any substantial way. Keep in mind Ukraine gave up it's nukes in exchange forRussia assuring them they would not be attacked by Russia.
2
Jeffery Sachs always reminds me of the American apologists for the Nazi's and the Soviet Union in the 1930's. Russia could blow up the pipeline for the simple reason they do not want Germany to use it. The pipeline would have made an excellent feed for LNG to go into German, replacing Russian gas. The United States did do certain clandestine operations to counter Soviet Union backed groups during the Cold War, both in Africa and South America. People like Sachs and other American Leftists like to ignore that aspect of the 1950's-1960's. Yea, the Soviet Union did like stirring the pot. Even a simple reading of history since 1900 has shown the Soviet Union/Russia never had a problem attacking neighboring countries any time it suited them. Any wonder why Finland and Sweden want to join NATO? China with it's new fond relationship with Russia may find itself being the man every time Russia gets an urge for adventurism. I do commend China for advancing a plan. But there is a whole lot of history that has to be dealt with.
2
@Shining237 Mom used to say the same thing to me.
2
@stevenhuang4193 As a rule a pipeline is less useful when filled with salt water. Unless you are pumping salt water.
2
Cuba said the words, I am hoping China won't take to long too send Cuba their crate of cash. The Cuban revolution is why Cuba needs a big crate of cash from China. In fact, China should plan on sending many, many crates of cash To Cuba. Just like how the Soviet Union used to send many, many free ship loads of oil to Cuba.
2
They have every right to protest. It was how and where they chose to protest that was the problem.
2
Belarus is out in the middle of no where. Mr: Lukashenko knows the Poles keep an eye on him and if he moved on Ukraine the poles might take a deep interest. They can be tough fighters and would defeat Belarus. Centuries of living under the thumb of Russia made Poland that way. Mr: Lukashenko needed interviews like this not only to talk to China, but to Poland.
2
Sort of like when Ukraine turned over it's nukes on the basis Russia would not attack them? How did that work out for Ukraine?
2
Many countries do not want Chinese made goods, they want to make the stuff themselves. They want the jobs. That is how wealth will be created.
2
Going against Putin usually does not end well for the challenger. Putin was a KGB man and old habits die hard.
2
It is a very old design concept. They are known as swing bridges.
2
@RaymondLi604 I think Putin may need more body guards.
2
Europe buys a lot of Chinese product, China goes to war with Europe, China will lose big sales and create unemployment.
2
Millions?
2
Baltimore symbolizes a ship that lost power and drifted.
2
I do not think Mr. Singh realizes no one really cares. You had a huge number of homes in Ukraine blown up the Russians, you had Putin waving around atomic bombs, Nordstream is small potatoes. Anyway, Germany knew deep down being dependent on Russia was a very bad idea.
2
As poorer countries start making their own stuff, what do you think will happen within BRICS?
2
@themilosgrozni237 I expect trade wars within BRICS.
2
When they all sit apart like that you do not have to worry about having bad breath.
2
Wasn't it the Chinese that created paper money?
2
@makuohua3071 The Chinese did it first, the U.S. does it better. I doubt gold will make a comeback and replace fiat. It does appear China is following the U.S. example and is printing money at a pretty heady clip. You know how politicians are, once they get their hands on the money printing machine...
