@Heidi_et.al. I left the Republican party after Bush started the second gulf war with no plan to get our troops home. Sadly both parties have supported war without end but there is hope with groups like Justice Democrats now actually refusing to take corporate bribes I mean campaign funds. But on topic yes he should be found guilty for lying under oath. One example would be when he claimed he had nothing to do with stealing Democrats email then it turned out he had received an email untitled spying all about the content of the stolen email and when questioned about it he said well I didn't think they really ment spying that is you know just the way people talk. Wrong he is very bad at covering his tracks.

Don't shame the citizens who didn't vote listen to them and give them a reason to vote. The lesser of 2 evils arguments clearly doesn't work on them regardless of it it is correct. Give them something good to vote for. We need more people like AOC wbo give people a reason to believe in them and to vote for them. The Hillary Clinton DWS politicans are to blame for not being canadates worthy of voting for. The DNC is to blame for supporting these candidates. So long as the establishment refuses to listen to the citizen the citizens will refuse to vote for them because they won't represent the citizens. A higher percentage of Republican votes support Medicare for All then elected Democrats in office. That fact alone tells you all you need to know about why people didn't vote for candidates who don't support the policies they want.
2
Time to nationalize the entire healthcare system. The for profit system is failing before our eyes. Hospitals and insurance companies are going bankrupt and the government is building temporary hospitals.
2
Funny I thought it was Obama who refused to fight the GOP for his supreme court nominees hearing.
2
To her question of do the Democrats believe that. No they are just doing what the corporations pay them to do. The Republicans are paid the most money to actually pass the policy the public knows is screwing them and the Republicans know it that is why the head of the EPA all the sudden needed 24/7 security because he thought if someone did this to me i would kill them. But the money is really good so the Republicans do it. The corporate Democrats are paid less because they get to look like the good guy while making sure that they don't repeal any of the policies the Republicans passed. So people probably won't be as mad at them for loosing on the issues and we feel like we have a choice.

Maybe Steve Mnuchin could get a tour of the embassy.
2
Someone doesn't understand why people commit crimes.
2
I can't wait for the right wing free speech warriors to get wind of this they will be outraged that someone would censor anyones first amendment rights. Oh wait that's right they never actually cared about your rights just their propaganda.
2
"He consulted for dozens of Republican presidents" Sara Huckabee Sanders Wow we only have 45 presidents total and Roger Stone is somehow old enough to have consulted for 24 of them. That seem totally legitimate.
2
MidScream1 you need to learn how to read the constitution is available online Google will help you find it.
2
MidScream1 you sound proud of that.
2
MidScream1 so you think exnoring our constitution is the right direction. Thanks for pointing out how anit American you are
2
MidScream1 I don't know where you get the impression that I am a originalist. That is your projection and strawman argument. But you still haven't explained why you don't believe in the constitution yourself and call yourself an American.
2
Does fox think that makes their side look good? She is calmly giving facts they are yelling stupid stuff at her.
2
Mayan Ruins sure but sam could be honest with his audience
2
@Aspartame69 hide in your tank from the unarmed peaceful protests. Wow wonder what you would do if they used those second amendment rights the right wing keeps saying we should use againt a tyrannical government.
2
@drewchilds3027 you have a great point but the two are definitely linkined. We use war in the middle east to make a market for dollars in the form of weapons they want so they will accept dollars for our oil from countries like China who have an excess of dollars from our trade deficit and national debt. We couldn't hold our national debt if the dollar wasn't the base of international trade. That is something we are seeing ending with the trade war trump started because more contries are saying if we won't have a surplus of dollars we should just trade in our currency. Canada and Europe are starting to do it more and Europe and China. But the reality is that we are very much interested in securing the worlds oil supply our fracking boom is a very short term solution at a very high environmental cost. But like any addict we need our oil to keep our society functioning. Which is why the single most important thing we can do is focus on making all energy local and renewable so energy is no longer a tool of warfare on a global basis. As to the Petro dollar that is a issue for sure our economic system is a mess as bad or worse then in the 1930 and we know that world wide war and the Petro dollar was what it took to recover from that. It is a mess but the more self reliance with respect to energy and food we can create on a global scale the more peace we will have become people won't need to envy and fight for their neighbors food or energy.
2
@drewchilds3027 oh the short answer is with respect to Venezuelan it is about the oil. That is why they are the only war torn country in central or south America that we are talking about. Look at the history of the military actions post Vietnam and you will find oil under the ground in almost every single conflict. You can also find plenty of examples of countries with very similar problems where we have no interest at all because there is no oil at stake. For example Zimbabwe is currently falling apart just as bad as Venezuela but no oil so no talk of military intervention to "help them" by blowing up a big part of their country.
2
The Democratic party doesn't want Katie Porter they only spent $300,000 on her election campaign to answer 5 million dollars of GOP spending. See her interview with John Stewart it was epic
1
At what point does this become evidence for their pay to play corruption trials?
1
Trump has to go testify under oath that will definitely end the impeachment hearing....
1
White female cop kills black man in his own apparent when he did nothing wrong. Why would those silly football players think there is something wrong with how the police treat black people. /S
1
Intellectual Trumpster now that is priceless what evidence is there in the Clition case? Of right one consensual affair and one accusation by a woman you believed with less supporting evidence then Ford has. Cleary you have 2 standards one for Republicans and a different one for Democrats

A century ago it took blocking out the sun in Washington DC for the politicians in the federal government to take the dust bowl seriously and pass legislation to help American citizens who where dieing in a climate crisis. Today the president goes and sees the sky red and millions of acres on fire in what looks like the biblical description of hell on earth and trump tell the American people trust me it will get cooler I know better then the scientists. We have to hold our government accountable for their failures. Our government today isn't even as well prepared or responsive as it was a century ago. If that doesn't scare you into action to help fix our government study the 1930s and 1040s. Because it isn't a time in history we should try to return to.
1
I don't get what any of that has to do with the green new deal except to be all the more reason why we should do it.
1
AOC should have pointed to the Hover Dam built during the great depression. How many times over has that renewable energy project paid back our society for the investment government made building it? The green new deal will be no different. Solar already employ 200,000 Americans and provides more jobs per megawatt of electricity then ff.
1
@jackarmstrong5645 I suspect if the grifter gets a payday he will not bother continuing to carry water for the dead billionaires.
1
It matters because he lied about it under oath. You know sort of like how Bill Clinton lied about his affair and the GOP impeached him for it.
1
I didn't know bullets failed to work at close range.
1
@TG-bz3wu correct plus a public option will incentivize corporations to drop their health insurance benefits to be less cost effective for their employees hoping to force them onto the public option and save their payment on the health insurance benefit.
1
@1drummer172 name one country which has the same plan Pete wants. Because I don't know one country which has the private sector and the government competing for the same coverage. I know of countries where you can buy additional health insurance for things not covered by the government single payer system but not one example where you would opt out of the government single payer plan and buy private sector insurance which covers the same issues. If you are trying to argue that you can buy supplemental insurance in some single payer systems them you are making a false argument because Bernie Sanders Medicare for All allows you to buy supplemental insurance to cover anything not covered by Medicare.
1
@EconomistGI interesting I didn't realize how the system in Germany is setup. But it sounds like a very heavily regulated private sector. From what you said it soulds like a method for the wealthy to dodge some of the progressive costs of being on the same payment plan as the public system. But thanks for the information I would have to learn more about it to say for sure but given how much the USA is anti regulation I definitely don't see the system you described working here. Honestly if we had half of the regulations you described here we wouldn't have the out of control system today causing medical bankruptcy.
1
Let's hope not. I would rather have to fight the same old dirty tricks we already understand than new dirty tricks...

https://www.vox.com/policy-and-politics/2018/9/12/17850180/susan-collins-crowdpac-kavanaugh-bribe-newsmax The crowdpac campaign to fund Collins opponent in 2020 if she votes for Kavanaugh. This is brilliant because it made he admit that she views political donations as bribes. Also because it allows grass roots to use or "speach" to counter the 5 million dollar being spent on pro Kavanaugh adds by corporations who want to buy their seat on the court.
1
No their job is not what their donors are paying them for that is the problem so don't say their job is what they are paid for because the Congress has been paid to do what they are doing which isn't their job
1
We are already paying 50 cents a gallon more.
1
We need rank choice voting it is working in Australia to take power away from the establishment parties
1
@joshuamccall8043 I suspect in 2020 we will see that the current youth make the boomer generation irrelevant. Boomers are out numbered already we just need candidates like Bernie Sanders who are able to convince younger Americans to vote. If there is anything that should turn out the under 45 vote it is eliminating college debt. Also addressing the climate crisis with the urgency it demands.
1
@Pearlruby718 people voted for Obama twice because he offered change you could believe in. Trump won as the antiestablishment candidate. So you have seen the last 3 elections in a row go to the radical candidate over the establishment candidate. The only difference in 2020 is we now have a chance for a true progressive not centrist corporatist claiming to be a progressive or a fake far right populists.
1
@Pearlruby718 you seem to lack a understanding of how our government functions if you don't understand the difference between the electoral college and the popular vote you are doomed to repeat the same mistakes in 2020 with a centrist corporatist who can't win the electoral college because they don't inspire voters in the rust belt.
1
Joe Biden what will be your one big achievement as president? I will have beat trump. Translation we will continue to get GOP policy but from a corpate Democrat.
1
You are talking about the same police who feel threatened by water bottles and attacked them with knives. I would suspect they will not respond well to paint guns or paint bombs. Those are definitely the terms they will use or some worse more military sounding terms to justify their vilification of peaceful protests.
1
@alandgomez5905 but the point is they will use any interference as a reason to escalate so long as the commander in chief saids they need to dominate the battle space.
1
@alandgomez5905 no at the moment the military has refused to get involved and the governors have refused to call them in. Currently this has not risen to anything like the summer of 67. Not to mention a full blown Marshall law. But trump and the oligarchy would definitely welcome the opportunity to justify that transition.
1
The GOP has one guiding principle. The ends justify the means. Welcome to Nazi Germany
1
Social the losses and capitalize the profits. That is our current currupt plutocracy.
1
God dam you listen to trump Biden and Bernie Sanders talk on the topic. Bernie Sanders is the only one who has a plan to actually help the citizens deal with this pandemic.
1
@HarryS77 it is based on the fact that there are 9 supreme court justices and limiting the ability of any one president to put too many people on the court. It is a balancing act if the term is shorter then each president could flip the court. I would set an 18 year limit on all government officials combined time in the Senate house and Whitehouse as well. It would be long enough for anyone to be in Washington DC.
1
10 year rollout means it will never happen because even with two terms she couldn't actually roll it out so the next president would kill it for sure. This is nothing more than telling people what she thinks they want to hear while protecting the status quo.
1
Have you noticed how well that worked for Warren? Last time I checked her campaign was rearranging the deck chairs in first class.
