@gamingparadise3390 they are still subject to ecominic forces and the economy of transportation is rapidly changing to favor electric vehicles. The oil industry is a dieing industry but it won't go down quite.
1
@gamingparadise3390 time will tell but EV sales are up 70% in Europe year over year last month. China is up over 5% of all new car sales as EV so infact they are losing market share. In the energy sector wind and solar are now the cheapest forms of new energy generation again ff is loosing market share. Once appon a time the rail road industry dominated world wide and now those barrons of industry are a mere ghost of what they once where. Technology has marched on and left ff with steam engines in the pages of history the ff industry just hasn't had it's Kodak moment yet but it is comming.
1
@gamingparadise3390 oh diesel sales are also down 12% year over year in Europe. Those are not good signs for your oil industry.
1
@gamingparadise3390 fair enough I didn't actually mean to say you own the oil industry simply the oil industry you where arguing will never end. I tend to get lazy with language as an American.
1
@gamingparadise3390 diesel is the most expensive form of electricity. And you can charge an electric car for about 1/5 the cost of gas or diesel in the USA where fuel is cheap. As the cost of the electric vehicle drops the oil industry is screwed. Well ok nuclear power is more expensive but diesel fuel for electricity is right up there.

Too bad Bernie won't endorse the one candidate who is actually campaigning on a platform that includes Medicare for All in 2024. Marianne Williamson 2024

Unfortunately I can think of 52 reasons why Bernie Sanders is wrong about Congress being able to do more than fund war.

@65minimom it's not vengeance it is simply applying Judge Kavanaugh's own legal standard to insure he feels confident that the matter has been handled in a manner which he clearly has demonstrated is appropriate. We should apply his precedence as a member of the second highest court in the land to how we handle his own investigation. We should also honor the ruling where he stated that while not admissible in courts law enforcement has proven that lie detector tests are a useful tool in job interviews. By his own rulings it is useful to require a lie detector test so clearly he can't object to requiring one for himself. By the same token he has proven that digging into every detail of someone's sex life is valid. He is about to learn why the bible says do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
1
@65minimom incase you don't see the difference vengeance would be having someone physically attempted to rape Kavanaugh. I am just requesting we investigate him constant to how he has investigated others. I don't believe anyone should physically assault him or his family to get vengeance for the crimes he probably committed. I will leave vengeance for the lord.
1
@65minimom well here in my state there is an independent party and in Vermont senator Sanders runs as an independent. But my point was we need Bernie to run outside of the Democratic party so the DNC doesn't play the same game again we need a progressive party with candidates who have name recognition enough to make the party win. Bernie could do that now.
1
@garydavis5858 keep dreaming. Bernie would get over 80% of the vote against trump.
1
@tcheyne1951 I am pretty sure you missed the point of my comment
1
After all these years Bernie Sanders wants us to believe he doesn't understand why the democratic party hides behind their scapegoats. Sorry I don't believe it.. he knows full well why it is why he refused to run as an independent like Ralph Nader

End all aid to Israel

The railroad workers where going to stand up and fight back from the grass roots and Washington quickly acted to make it illegal. It is time for all workers to stand together in unity. This is class warfare and my class is winning- Warren Buffett Railroad Owner
1
@IWLDELJ well clearly you don't understand the basics of monetary theory. Let me fill you in on a small secret there is a finite supply of money in the world. So infact the ultra wealthy keeping it for themselves does limit the supply for others and harm them. If there was not a limited supply of money it would infact not have any value which would kind of defeat it's purpose. As to the grammar policing that on social media which most people enter on a smart phone won't win you any brownie points.
1
Yet Bernie Sanders won't endorse the one candidate running on Medicare for All in 2024. Marianne Williamson

@workoutwithrob1700 hell we are voting now for a new Congress the GOP should let the people have their say before they pick anyone this close to an election that was their logic for nearly a year. Oh right the GOP has one policy for when they are the minority and a different policy when they are the majority. Nice to have things always in your favor but I guess bing the bigger sellouts to corporate interests will get you more power to do their bidding. We need to repeal citizens United and any judge who supports it should be impeached by they way this new guy thinks companys are more important then people so good work buddy you get to be just another cog in the profit machine which made Jeff Bezos the richest man on the planet.
1
@workoutwithrob1700 it is about the working conditions and pay that people are upset. He is making the money at the expense of his workers. A 4 floor building where someone worked and did a story on it covered by democracy now today said there are 2 bathrooms on the first floor so you have to walk down 4 floors and across the warehouse to go to the bathroom. That is crazy I have worked in factories and in industry manufacturing centers I have never seen a building without bathrooms on every floor or more then about 100 feet from anywhere in the building. But Amazon tracks ever minute of your day and you get in trouble if they can't account for 5 minutes of your day that is crazy micro management and to top it off they don't pay enough for these hard working people to actually earn a living with 40 hours work. This is wage slavery we are better then sweat shops in 2018. But your defending the companies which are back over 100 years ago with their additude twords labor as nothing more then a tool to be used till it is broken then replaced.
1
@leroybrown7870 keep dreaming he won't be there in 6 months. Once you loose the house and Senate in November he will be booted to the curve. Why do you think the Senate is in a panic to get this idiot approved to the supreme court they know it is they last act before being voted out of power. And approving someone this pro citizens United pro big business will be their last act because we are sick and tired of cooperation buying all 3 branches of our government. We have to bend to the will of our employers at work not in the rest of our lives. The era of Corporate bought and owned government is comming to an end.
1
@workoutwithrob1700 dude you are such a small wheel in a big machine you can't even see it is crushing you. Please stop buying from Amazon I am sure Jeff Bezos will really miss you few hundred dollars a month. Oh wait that is so little he wont even realize it as he is the single richest person on the planet. We need Governments to take action against these companies because you are little more then a speck of sand on the shoe of Jeff Bezos. But your right you can stop working for Amazon and go be treated the same by Walmart. That is how monopolies work just like if you don't like the price of gas at Exxon you can go pay the same price at the next gas station down the road. Wow the power of the consumer is amazing at the end of the day both companies set the price and work environment regardless of where you shop. Huge multinational corporations have the power not the individual. Your actions are lost in the noise.
1
@richvictorynow I think your dexterity strikes again.
1
@richvictorynow sure about 3 am he will wake up in a cold sweat and unload on Twitter it will be an assault on the English language for sure.
1
Good start but so long as the drug company is driven by a profit motive it will be a game a wack a mole. Nationalize the industry and have single payer if you want to end the extortion of the sick by the greedy
1
Sorry but a totaled car would be equal to a dead person so try again idiot.
1
@gregread935 it is more like your insurance company comming back and saying you lied on your application you got a speeding ticket once when you first got your license so not only are we not going to pay for your totaled car because you have a pre existing condition of speeding but no company will ever insure any car you ever own again. Get it? But don't worry once we get Medicare for All like the rest of the developed world you will never be without health insurance again and it will cost less then we pay now as Americans.
1
@gregread935 so if the parents don't have insurance your ok with letting the kid die? What failed ideas? You need to look beyond your home town there is a big world out there and plenty of nations have proven that single payer healthcare works better and costs less. Your the one talking shit with nothing to back it up. But I would expect nothing less from someone who runs to Venezuela. You probably have no clue what roll us sanctions has had in crashing their economy. You need to stop listening to right wing talk radio and fox news and see what the rest of the world has to offer. But lucky for me even 52% of Republican support Medicare for All and 70% of all Americans so your in the minority.
1
@gregread935 I will let the people of Denmark set you straight on how fox news lied to you about their taxes and social mobility. https://youtu.be/OSd8ellS52M
1
@gregread935 as to the 52% of Republicans and 70% of all Americans supporting Medicare for All you can look up the survey but your logic that Trump would not have gotten votes from people who are upset with our current healthcare system is crazy you must have forgotten he ran on everyone having insurance and it costing you left. By the way how is that working? Millions have lost insurance it costs more and covers less thanks to trumps policies. Oh I take it your lack of comment means you are perfect ok with letting children die if their parents don't have insurance.
1
@workoutwithrob1700 sure would be nice if politicians didn't sensor things it would be helpful to be able to actually put supreme court nominees in context but for some reason the trump administration thinks records that the Bush administration declassified should be reclassified. Nothing to see there....
1
@SeanMcClutchey we don't need trump supporters we need politicians with polices that bring the people who don't vote back into the system. Give them something to vote for not simply something to vote against. People don't get excited about having their fingers broken because the alternative is a broken arm they refuse to take part instead this is the problem with the lesser of two evils campaigns.
1
@workoutwithrob1700 more pay doesn't benefit the workers but giving their company a tax break does? That is some good logic. If you want the working class to get a benefit try something revolutionary and give the benefits to the working class people not their bosses and hope many the company will share a little. Saying giving people a pay raise wont help people is stupid.
1
We can't afford to save 15 trillion dollars with Medicare for All. Our GOP doners wont give us any more bribes if they can't rob the American citizens.
1
Profit margins demand it.
1
My hope is that Ro Khanna will be VP. He is more in line with the Bernie Sanders Movement and VP would make him most likely to continue the movement after the Sanders presidency. Tulsi Gabbard also has the advantage of being able to look anyone in the eye when they say do you know how these cuts will effect our troops and say yes as a veteran I am very much aware of the needs of our troops. That the best interest of our troops isn't to be sold to the highest bidder in the middle east to protect their oil revenue.
1
Big Mike that is a big myth. Privately owned companies keep the doors open just fine.
1
Glory to God you are 100% backwards on progressive taxation. If you tax higher earners more on their earnings the incentive is to reinvest the earning of the company into the business. If you have a flat tax there is no incentive to reinvest the earning into the company the incentive is to pull them out of the company and use them for personal income. This is easy to verify all you have to do is look at the CEO compensation vs re investment in the companies from the 40s through today. What you will see is CEO compensation and shareholder gains skyrocketed in the 80s when trickle down economics was invented by the GOP. But from the 40s to the late 70s we had the golden age of growth in this country when we had top marginal tax rates peaking at 90%. The data is out there you just have to study history and not listen to the pludocrats who only want to protect their wealth and power. Oh and it is interesting that you think Republican President Dwight D. Eisenhower was a "commie" because we had the highest taxes under his administration.
1
Frederic Bastiat wrong again. Productive growth comes from the increase in worker efficiency not the share holders efforts in buying stocks. How exactly does buying stocks make the workers more productive in their 8 hour shift?
1
Glory to God even Jeff Bezos doesn't believe he earned his wealth. He refures to it as winning not earnings.
1
Glory to God so you admit higher skilled workers not higher skilled CEO but yet you defend the CEO getting the money not the worker. Seems like you only half understand the situation.
1
Glory to God there is no way Jeff Bezos earns $4,475,885 per hour. Sorry but that isn't earnings it is robbery of his workers.
1
Glory to God your questioning if the post WWII era was called the golden age of growth in the USA shows your lack of knowledge on the subject. You need to do your homework and study the history of taxation in this country before I will waste any more time discussing this with you because you don't have a good understanding of the topic. You are just arguing pro corporate talking points. Honestly it makes you look ignorant and brainwashed.
1
Frederic Bastiat so why did we have the golden age of growth when the top marginal tax rate was 90% and the age of outsourcing when the gop implemented trickle down economics? Stock buybacks don't grow companies they extract wealth and add to income inequality.
1
Frederic Bastiat wrong the golden age of growth in the USA was post WWII from 1940 to 1970. You are talking about the expansion across the country.
1
Frederic Bastiat wages have been stagnant for the last 4 decades. If you think otherwise you are looking at stats that avg the wages of Jeff Bezos and buddies with that of the working class.
1
Frederic Bastiat here is an article about the wages over the time frame you think they have grown with trickle down economics. Spoiler alert you are wrong there has definitely not been 60% wage growth. https://hbr.org/2017/10/why-wages-arent-growing-in-america
1
Frederic Bastiat so you are saying 42% was perfectly acceptable for the wealthy and corporations the effective rate today for Amazon was negative. Same with FedEx. I would be happy to see them go back to an effective rate of 42%.
1
Frederic Bastiat if you want to talk about things we didn't pay for in the post WWII era you can add out bloated military budget to the list we spend over a trillion dollars a year on defense once you track down all the different budgets. We didn't build border walls. We didn't have ICE. I could go on with how the right wing loves big government if you like. But you are perfectly happy to see the country become a fascist police state.
1
Frederic Bastiat Amazon is plowing it's profits into Jeff Bezos Per hour, he makes a whopping $8,961,187 million — that's roughly 315 times Amazon's $28,466 median annual worker pay.
1
Frederic Bastiat at the same time both FedEx and Amazon are dependent on federally funded airports and highways for their business model. But you are ok with paying the salaries of the air traffic controllers that they depend on for their planes to fly that next day delivery across the country. Or paying for the highways and bridges their heavy trucks do the majority of the damage to. Interesting how you don't think they need to pay taxes to cover the burden they place on our society.
