Richard Wolf 2024 people's party candidate!!! This is the president we need in 2024
4
Yup this is why small companies under 50 people usually have the best worker creativity. Because the owner works beside the employee and knowns them all personally. As an Engineer I try to stay with the smaller less stable companies for this very reason.
4
So Congress voting to force the railroad unions to go back to work and not strike for the 7 sick days they want...
4
@chrisj984 if you can't understand how single payer healthcare and reduced income inequality will help you I can't explain it to you.
4
@deezeed2817 the USA is spending 1.5 trillion dollars on updating our nuclear weapons right now. The cost of new grid scale solar is $35 per megawatt hour. 1.5 trillion dollars divided by $35 you can do the math but that is an insane number of megawatt hours of electricity we could have instead of more nuclear weapons when we already have enough to blow the world up something like 15 times over. It isn't a question of funding it is a question of priorities. We have the money we choose to spend it on nuclear weapons instead of renewable energy.
4
Look back a century ago to see where we are headed. Those who don't study history are doomed to repeat it. The last time we had an ecominic crash and war in Europe was just under a century ago.
4
One small point home ownership isn't that great a sign of wealth. We call people homeowners who don't have equity in their home. Which would be a better measure of wealth. Both because people use homes for home equity loans but more importantly there is a class of people who have to move every 5 to 7 years to find more work. I know people in their late 40s who have done this for 2 decades and have zero equity to show for 20 years of home ownership. If they had been able to make mortgage payments on one home the entire time they would have generated wealth but having to move for work they lost that wealth.
3
You forgot the word national. The nightmare we are living in is the national socialist nightmare come back a century later after the anti fascist allied forces beat it back.
3
There are some states that don't let landlords to evict during the winter. NH is one of them
3
@chrisj984 you have allowed the right wing propaganda to rot your brain. You are all for socialist police forces socialist military socialist fire departments socialist highways. Socialist education. If you hate those things you hate America because we have had all of them for centuries now. So stop pretending you hate socialist society because you grew up in a mixed society. The reality is the wealthy have brainwashed you into believing that their greed is more important than the health and wellbeing of the working class who actually created the wealthy they profited from.
3
Rank choice voting will allow more parties to be effective in the USA and end the lesser of two evils duopoly which got us here
3
@Marxist2 politicians needing to be pressured doesn't bother me it is our job as citizens to make sure our government is acting in our best interests. The American voters absentee behavior after voting is why our politicians listen to the donors not the voters. So I have no problem with anyone who holds their elected officials accountable and reminding them that we need them to govern as we demand of our leaders.
3
Yup I have found the same thing to be true. The longest I have worked in one job is 5 years. It also factors into the issue of homeownership. Hard to earn equality in a home when you have to sell it for a new job first.
3
You think they will denounce their American citizenship???
3
Well I guess we know where some of the 20 trillion dollars the federal reserve created in 2020 to make the V shaped stock market recovery ended up.
3
The war we ended cost 300 million dollars a day #defundthemilitary

Japan and Tiawan love Americans because of the war crimes that China imposed on their countries during WWII. Both countries view the USA as their saviors not only because of the war ending but also because of the Marshall plan rebuilding their countries after the war was over. It is an example of how well soft power works. This is something you don't fully understand until you travel to these countries and actually interact with the citizens there. I spent 18 months in Tiawan and it gave me a much better appreciation for the value of soft power. Just compare the benifits we get from politics inacted nearly a century ago now compared to the reputation we have in the middle east after 2 decades of hard power military action. Even our allies in SA murder our reporters.

@toddfarkman2177 wrong. My sister was married to a director at blue cross both of them working there. But they choose to invest her entire income and to live in a small house. We don't have state income taxes so even though they had the best ability to pay for the services you mentioned with his directors salary at a health insurance company they didn't have much tax burden. Property is a very poor indicator of your ability to pay taxes. Just look at how many elderly people still own a home but are no longer able to work like my mother. Why should my mother pay more taxes in her retirement than my sister and her husband who both had high income jobs at a health insurance company?
2
@horhay3608 only so long as they own all political parties. Which is why we need to end the duopoly
2
D' Essay you are simply spewing ff industry propaganda. The simple fact that if your logic was true the ff industry would be pushing renewable energy to increase their profits shows how crazy your taking point is. The coal companies would definitely push any new market that helped them out as much as you think renewable energy does.
2
D' Essay I read your propaganda. I am telling you I cut my electricity costs by going off grid so I am the one saving money. The other shit you are saying is pure propaganda. If you are brainwashed I can't help you.
2
D' Essay oh and for the record it take more electricity to refine one gallon of gas then it does for an electric car to travel the same distance as the gas car will travel and that is before you include all the energy used to get the gas from the refinery to your gas tank. So no renewable energy and electric cars are less energy intensive than ff.
2
That 13 billion was in a single day. I am sure he has made much much more during the pandemic. The wealthy have seen half a trillion dollars worth of growth in their wealth while the GDP suffered the greatest drop in history.
2
@archibald1796 yup it was in a Monday ironically directly after he cut his workers pandemic pay by $2 per hour. Guess wallstreet thought that was a good business move.
2
@bluewater454 so you think the federalist society supreme court will come down on the side of workers. Trump's first supreme court judge wrote a decent before getting on the court saying that trucking companies literally had the right to demand drivers freeze to death on the side of the road when the truck broke down and where correct to fire the driver for abandoning the load to save their life in below freezing temperatures after the truck broke down and lacked heating. That court is what you believe will overturn the railroad act??? 🤣
2
@bluewater454 you clearly have no clue about the federalist society and who they where paid to hand pick for the courts.
2
We need a minimum living wage linked to the median wage in America and a tax structure which which taxes excessive earnings at 90% to end extream income inequality. We have a minimum wage but is is a a starvation wage.
2
@richardsprout9259 the green party has proven to not challenge the Democratic party.
2
@chrisj984 like I said if you can't understand why the structure we have today designed to protect the wealthy isn't helping you I can't help. Just keep listening to Richard Wolff and Chris Hedges they can explain much better. But you have to be willing to listen.
2
@chrisj984 you think reducing income inequality means you will get no reward for your invention? Wow talk about a black and white world view. I am simply saying that a society where the person working full time at minimum wage and unable to afford housing and healthcare while creating the wealth of the wealthiest people on planet earth has serious problems. That doesn't mean no one will be rewarded for their efforts it means we have better balance between those at the top and those at the bottom. More like the 1960s when the CEO made 20x the avg pay of their employees not the 200x to 1000x they make today. So clearly you don't understand the goals of the people's party movement if you think those of us who want things like Medicare for All are looking for a free ride. Actually what we are looking for is what other countries like Norway has proven give you to opportunity to take the risk of starting your own company building your intention without the fear of being one illness from bankruptcy. Something I know full well having been forced to make that very choice in order to help and elderly parent. I live without health insurance in the only country in the world to have a condition know as medical bankruptcy because the alternative was to not be self employed and not have the time I need to take care of family. Medicare for All isn't free stuff it is simply paying taxes at half the cost of our for profit healthcare system to get the same service. It is economy of scale and the removal of profit motives from protecting lives. Something you just admitted you understand when it comes to the police fire roads and military. So why you lack understanding of that same thing applying to healthcare is willful blindness and propaganda brainwashing by the wealthy elite who profiteer off your healthcare today.
2
@chrisj984 the fact is we have long waiting lines in the USA today. How many people do you personally know who refuse to get medical care for fear of the bill they will receive even with healthcare? My uncle died of bone cancer partly because even with health insurance in the 90s he was worried about the cost. That is before you get to the denial of service issues comming from our for profit health insurance companies who have a fiduciary duty to deny any claims to minimize their expenses. As to waiting lines in other countries like Canada the reality is they do not have waiting lines for critical care. There are waiting lines for elective surgery when the citizens choose to defund the healthcare system. That is a choice of the society like the UK where they choose to under fund the NHS. But google the videos of them reacting to the cost of our for profit system you will rapidly see their citizens say there is no way they would trade either the Canadian healthcare system or the British system for what we have here. I know people who live in Canada and when we discuss healthcare issues like a friend of mine who refused to get tested for a medical condition her mother suffers from because while there are medications that would help her it would be a pre existing condition as soon as she is tested which will effect her ability to afford healthcare in our society. People in Canada look at you like you are insane when you tell them that and say that simply doesn't happen here you would go get tested and get the meds that will help delay the development of the disease. As to the transition to renewable energy. I can tell you on a personal level I cut my power bill in half by installing solar panels and batteries here on my farm. I literally pay the bank half what I was paying the power company each month and at the end of the loan payment the solar panels will have years of life left the only thing that I will have to replace is the batteries. As to how do we handle workers transitioning the green new deal is clear there will be pay at the previous pay rate for displaced workers for 18 months IIRC while they are trained with new job skills. If you don't think that plan is acceptable I ask you what has been the caplistist alternative when a coal mine closed or any company declares bankruptcy and lays off their labor force what responsibility does the former management team have to help the ex employees find work. I will tell you before you have to look it up. Good caplistist believe in rugged individualism in that situation. Meaning sorry bad luck for the coal miners the fact that natural gas is cheaper for electric companies is just the free market at work. So before you shoot the massager for not having all the details in a concept proposal you should consider what the status quo is that you are by default defending. Because by rejecting the green new deal you are saying you support the free market rugged individualism solution to the energy transition because at the moment wind and solar are the cheapest forms of new energy and and EV has the lowest total cost of ownership. So the free market and rugged individualism is your current alternative to the green new deal.
2
@chrisj984 oh by the way my 75 year old neighbor just told me yesterday that he has waited over a week for a hospital to schedule a follow up test for the surgery he had recently. The test is to insire they fixed his kidney problems if they delay he will likely end up on dialysis as he told them he is pissing blood now. So there are your waiting lines in our for profit healthcare system. He has private insurance to cover his healthcare needs too which combined with Medicare makes his the top of the pay pool in the USA. A friend of mine in Canada told me this morning that is insane here if that happened they would drop everything to get you back in after the surgery to see what happened but in the USA he has waited over a full week to just schedule the follow up ultrasound having called the hospital multiple times
2
Too bad non of the progressives are running against Nancy Pelosi for speakership to take away the argument that voting against Nancy is by default voting for the Republican.
2
@ReparationsForImperialism 🤣🤣🤣 the fact is there is a problem with curruption. The feeling is you saying it is hopeless. Nice projection of your feeling over fact onto me though.
2
Time to invest those saving in an off grid solar system or an EV so you get a good return on your investment. A heat pump will also return nicely for you as our society suffers ff industry caused inflation.
2
@jw7075 they should look at value added and productivity. Because telling people you don't value their labor tells them they don't need to put in more effort. Which means the company gets less profits.
2
@jackflack9004 there is no point in talking to someone who isn't listening
2
@isorokudono anyone who doesn't understand that the country which has 4% of the worlds population and 20% of the worlds covid 19 deaths suffers from a failure of leadership is a moron. Trump has failed us and we have 220,000 corpses to prove it. In trump's own words his failure to take actions to control the pandemic will kill 2 million Americans before this is over. Literally every other country on planet earth has done a better job protecting the health and wellbeing of their citizens.
2
gregtubez trump's pandemic cost him the election. He lost get over it.
2
I would be happy with a one time payment of 1 million dollars. But the politicians these people making millions per week bought will only approve a one time payment of $1400 and no adjustment of our minimum wage.
2
@ml3141 economics and forms of government are linked arm and arm. Check out Chris Hedges drawing the parallels between The Weimar Republic and today. The ecominic repression of the working class in both cases opened the door to fascism. Chis Hedges and Richard Wolff have done interviews together they are mostly in agreement on their world view
2
@intuitionz1198 the point to realistate is that they are not making more land. People need food and shelter so regardless of what happens to currency land will have value.
2
So did the current president.
1
Did you get vaccinated? I am just trying to understand your time frame as the right seems to be commiting mass suicide by pandemic now
1
The groups he is talking about have a pool of money as they are organizations providing insurance for their own members. Not the rugged individualism of the right wing but the social responsibility of the left where everyone works together for the betterment of all.
1
@smokedbeefandcheese4144 I am on the grid and leaving it makes since depends on your local power company. Mine has over half my bill as fees not power so I can't offset those fees with net metering. All depends on your situation but as storage drops in price o suspect more people will save money by not being on the grid
1
We call that capitalism.
1
We did that is what has made Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk more wealth than Rockefeller and his fellow barons of industry. The wealth have seen their wealth continue to grow in 2020 just like the roaring 20s a century ago. History tells you what fallows that...
1
How do we get the establishment politicians to fix HR1 I wrote to both of the Democratic party senators in NH and they both just told me they will support it the way it is not add amendments to fix these issue with the legislation.
1
@itsfreerealestate15 I think you missed my point this nightmare happened once before a century ago.
