@tjmarx you seem to not understand the definition of insanity is doing the same thing and expecting different results.
1
@erlienfrommars no that was pretty much the point of the comment that the caplistist took more than half a century to catch up with the government and then it cost way more.
1
@OutragedPufferfish you don't think they have electric stoves there??? Wow
1
@OutragedPufferfish don't worry Tesla, BMW, BYD and many other automotive manufacturers are rapidly transitioning the automotive industry to EV they will soon follow Norway where over 90 percentage of all new vehicles sold plug into the electric grid for power.
1
@OutragedPufferfish you are intentionally missing the point but them there are non so blind as those who refuse to see
1
ea wow such deep analysis I can tell you have spend decades studying the issue
1
@ytcensorhack1876 funny that you think we need regulations but you are so upset that that could simply be regulations to set a market cap per company
1
@ytcensorhack1876 you try to claim inside connections to the banking sector than get offended when I associate you with it. Priceless
1
@ytcensorhack1876 we have monopoly laws already we broke up AT&T and the railroads. All you need to do is research how we have done it in the past to know how the laws will work if we choose to enforce them in the USA
1
@ytcensorhack1876 lol your a clown
1
@ytcensorhack1876 the fact that we have had a half century of exnoring the laws and merging companies back together doesn't change the fact that we know how the government is able to break up a company. The banks are different only in that they are directly dependent on the federal reserve. So the government has more transparency and control of their assets.
1
@ytcensorhack1876 wow you really do like to beat a dead horse.
1
Well if it only takes one it great that the USA is spending trillions of dollars building a "modern" nuclear weapons arsenal.
1
@KilgorSoS temporary pandemic job losses 🤣🤣🤣🤣 good one.
1
What we learned is that moral hazard is real and too big to fail holds the world's governments hostage to the greed of the wealthy. We need withdrawal limits on large un insured accounts to end the threat of bank runs and these
1
The best way to deal with ff "leakage" is to replace the demand with renewable energy.
1
@DilbertMuc the world will be far better off with far less plastic anyway. You now consume over 40 lbs in your drinking water and food supply. Plastic is killing us all. As to fertilizer Nitrogen makes up the bulk of our atmosphere. I have a small farm and haven't used chemical fertilizers or pesticides in over 30 years with no harm to my crop yields. The ones dreaming are those who think we will continue to live the Petro chemical lifestyle in the future. The end of the ff era is here now or the end of life on planet earth. Seems like an easy choice to me but then I already made it decades ago and have been reducing my consumption as much as my budget will allow for decades.
1
@RazorMouth ask the British how fast Hinkley Point has come on line. The history of nuclear power is over budget and behind schedule regardless of which countries build the plants. Wind and solar are far faster to bring on line.
1
@sidoniewinterpasternak9938 people don't live where there isn't some form of renewable energy. Unless you think Iceland is the solar capital of the world.
1
The 6 Republicans on the Supreme Court are the ones who will defeat trump
1
"Germany has always valued it's human capital" wow someone didn't study history... if you are so wrong as on that point the rest of your argument is meaningless.
1
@johanqian1858 someone has trade and globalization confused. I don't think outsourcing jobs has been beneficial to any labor force which experienced it.
1
@a.westenholz4032 again trade and globalization are two very different things. You are purposely defending the profiteering caplistist class putting profits over all else. Shipping jobs over sees to avoid paying a living wage or protecting the safety of their labor force and the environment. Globalization is about putting profits before ALL elss.
1
The companies making the vaccine need to be nationalized. Profiteering of a pandemic is immoral.
1
@BUSeixas11 well we definitely know leaving it alone will allow the right wing extremists to win. But ya maybe the one thing that could stop that might be a mistake. Lets see how not acting works out this time. I mean Obama not fighting to get his judge seated and RBG not retiring works out so well what could go wrong with more inaction when action is called for.
1
Yup we can't get the Tesla semi fast enough
1
@stevedevice to date the over the air updates by Tesla have been hacked zero times. It is so successful the rest of the automotive industry is copying the technology
1
@stevedevice you have some funny conspiracy theories there. But the reality is EV sales numbers are doubling year over year globally while ICE sales numbers are crashing. It is easy to see where the market is going if you simply look at the numbers not conspiracy theories
1
@stevedevice Tesla Batteries Have 90% Capacity After 160,000 Miles, May Last For 500,000 miles A group of European drivers report that battery degradation for their Tesla automobiles has been lower than expected. They predict the battery in a Model S or Model X will still have 80% capacity after 500,000 miles. By Steve Hanley Published April 16, 2018 Google seems to have different search results on Tesla battery life than you do
1
@stevedevice hope you enjoy you ever increasing fuel costs.
1
@stevedevice lol sounds like you need to hire a contractor to fix that problem
1
Build renewable energy. The only reason anyone cares about a desert in the middle east is oil deposits located under its. Remove the demand for oil and you remove the power of the governments in the middle east.
1
six your comment is wrong on the facts and not worthy of more thinking. The cost of the ff industry products is the 6th mass extinction event. Once our society collapses the assets those profits where in will be valueless.
1
@bibit3856 all true but you can't solve a society wide problem with individual actions alone. If you could the hippies would have solve the climate crisis in the 70s
1
@edix1673 what you must do at home is push for a structural change to the political system that will build the political will to act. In the USA that means fight for rank choice voting to end the duopoly. In France it means protest like the farmers and yellow vest movements. In the UK it means Join XR because they are the only thing I see from the outside standing up to the establishment and putting political pressure on the politicians.
1
@cccc2740 the hippies tried to end the climate crisis in the 1970s through individual action. If that approach worked we never would have burned more than half the ff ever burned as we have done that in the last 2 decades after over half a century of trying to solve the problem with individual actions. To fail to understand that is to willfully blame the powerless and let those with the actual power to solve the problem off the hook.
1
@cccc2740 no by all means live the best you can I am trying to lead by example. I grow my own food and can it in the same canning jars that my grandfather used and have served my family for generations now. But I don't go around telling people if only they lived as frugally as I do we wouldn't have a climate crisis. Because I know the truth is the US military is the worlds single largest consumer of ff and no individual actions will end their burning ff just like no one choosing to stay home and not fly to Disneyland won't end the airline industry or replace it with renewable energy powered high speed trains. It will take collective pressure on our politicians to pass legislation to end the ff era and keep a planet that supports human life. So by all means live frugally but it won't fix the problem it will only drive people away from your cause when you tell them they have to sacrifice their luxuries whatever those might be.
1
@foxtrot NATO includes the world's largest military budget. One member of NATO spends more on the military than the next 10 countries combined. Those 10 countries include the 2 you mentioned. But sure what is having the worlds largest standing army as a member worth?
1
@eastcorkcheeses6448 .most coal is shipped by railway so that is pretty big infrastructure of you lack it
1
@joesmith3590 I am pretty sure those homes have power lines for electricity as well as pipelines for gas
1
@fredkrause4509 only so long as the free market is allowed to price gauge
1
@danielmocsny5066 you don't need to upgrade the entire housing stock in 3 months because there are reduced gas supplies. No one said there would be zero gas in Europe come winter.
1
ss never assume what others know or you will expose your own ignorance. There is nothing in a residential setting that is done with gas that cannot be done just as well with electricity.
1
@chrisss3749 we change then all out on avg every 7 years due to failure. So clearly 1 in every 7 appliances will be changed this year regardless the question is just what will be installed a gas hot water heater or a heat pump.
1
@chrisss3749 🤣🤣🤣🤣 no electric water heat heaters that is a good one.
1
ss amazing how you forget how the world ramped up production both in Germany and in response to German nestly a century ago. We all know when it is a priority to change we will do so.
1
Odd that the government of France doesn't think it should be equally criminal to post the same images online to harm any citizens. Why do the police need more protection from intent to do harm than the avg French citizens? Wouldn't it be just as bad if the families of activists or lawyers felt threatened?
1
@Eric well lets see 1/3 of the plant is covered with water and pumped hydro is one of the most cost effective forms of storage so yes I don't think we will run out of raw materials to store energy anytime soon.
1
If you bothered to read my other post here in this comment section you would see I am not on board with the concept of H2 as a storage solution there are many other better storage options
1
Some people will end this with freedom from life as they add themselves to the death toll of the global pandemic
