PS I am an early adopter of climate ideology & the Covid outbreak/response and the gender wars has led to me critically questioning all I believe & have taken as fact. I'm not quite clear though - is Michael saying that climate change is not a real thing & doesn't need a response, or that it's overblown but does need a response, or that it is a real thing and needs a response but our response is wrong - & if so, what is the answer?

And Labour didn't win by a landslide, they are a minority vote in relation to numbers of people eligible to vote. Also Spiked doesn't have to only talk about things based on majority views.   34. Why is it different to make sex a protected characteristic as opposed to race, sexuality or transgender identity? If there is hate crime legislation then certainly sex should be included. At the moment if a crime is committed against a transwoman (trans identified male) & someone says something 'transphobic' (factual) like 'transwomen are men', the offender will get a longer sentence than someone who commits the same crime against a woman & says something misogynist to her. Hate crime legislation should be scrapped altogether - but if it remains then sex should be included

  43. Shouldn't it be possible to do both? If people are on a very low wage the state ends up subsidising that through tax credits etc & that allows employers to continue paying low wages.

  44.  @TheBruvleigh  there will always be types of work that is lower status or lower skilled. There arent enough enough higher status jobs for all adults. Any full time job should pay a decent enough salary to sustain a reasonable quality of life. Using Macdonalds as an example, a multinational corporation like that can afford to pay a living wage.

  46. @SpikeyMikey341  its about what are the potential repercussions & thinking those through. Its easy to legalise things but hard to put the lid back on the box. Re abortion, I support the right to abortion in certain (most) situations but it has encouraged a culture of irresponsibility towards contraception & to casual sex. My 15 yeat old's best friend has had two abortions already. Obviously she isn't typical but in their social circle it is being normalised

  49. We dont even need the word trans. It is still a totally subjective, ideological word. There are men who think they are, or want to be women, and vis versa. We don't need a word for it, it only embeds the concept. It is more helpful to name the behaviour eg 'cross dresser'
