Nope, not just you😅 But tbh, if I had more money than I could feasibly spend, I'd ask Hägglunds if they could build an unarmored version of their Bv410 upsized to M2DT size and fitted with a Scania 700+hp Euro6 compliant turbo diesel for the ICE side of a diesel-electric drive system, and a deployable 12m² solar panel on top of the rear cab for saving fuel while encamped. I'd also want some kind of direct transit sollution between the front and rear cab without having to climb down to the ground due to the height of the vehicle.

  26. ​ @Bob_Betker  the thing is, the CV90120 IS developed for a very similiar role as the Booker: a self propelled assault gun in support of motorised or mechanised infantry. The difference is that the CV90120 uses the same standard ammo as the Rheinmetal 120/L44 gun on the Abrams M1A+ and the Leopard2, making ammo logistics simpler until a 130mm or 140mm MBT becomes a new standard. The main logistics questions then becomes: how many other components and parts/consumables/fluids are shared with other vehicles in the US armed forces with each candidate, and, which is able to fulfil the other requirements of the role and the predicted logistics chain in operation.

The Archer chassi is capable of going through terrain consising of nothing but 50-120cm diameter boulders deposited in the last ice age where an actual tank wouldn't risk going as it's the natural equivalent of dragons teeth anti tank barriers.

  37. The main problem with light dicipline in many situations that I see is that administration bureaucrats are cheaping out on not providing adequate quantity of NV goggles. Artillery especially needs them, and I don't mean the super resolution gen4+ versions, Artillery just need almost basic gen1.5s with flash protection, up to 150-200m good view range with resolution enough to read a muted LCD screen, the aiming stakes/plates at <50m and see the fuse settings and markings to know a HE or AT from smoke or star shell.

  40. We didn't stop making tanks though, we just bought production and improvement rights to the German Leopard 2A4 and then tweaked it beyond German imagination. All the Strv 122 tanks are licence built by Hägglunds and the guns by Bofors, the electronics by Ericsson, and the armor package of the Leopard 2A5 and 2A6+ was Swedish developed upgrades sold back to KMW.

Your Nora is just as shitty offroad as a civilian cargo truck of the same length and weight due to the rigid chassi and how the wheels are placed. It will roll over on it's side or tear up it's underside and get stuck on rocks or tree stumps in places where the Archer is able to go without risk.

Brass casings remove quite a lot of heat from the breech end of the system so that you can sustain longer barrages before risking cook-offs, and make no mistake, the moskovites do use bagged increments, inside the brass casing. Drones and artillery spotting radars make that feature obsolete vs peer or superior tech adversaries as anyone trying to sustain barrages longer than 3-4 rounds per piece and then relocate is just begging for a buggering by counter battery fire or drones.

  48. They are integrated in the CV90 mech inf. & Strv122/CV90 armor batallions with two mortar platoons to each bat. Idk how many Mjölner vehicles to each mortar platoon, but I would guess on 3, they replace two platoons of 4 towed m1941 mortar pieces each.
