@sophisticatedthumb5364 no surprise u defend the gên.ôicde of Uyghurs. Gitmo is a prison so ur trying to argue all prisons are conc camps which is not true.

@keithsj10 imagine Spain or Italy sending refugees back to another country knowing it was certain that refugee would be put to death or tortured at the very least China could ask for international support to help house the North Koreans but Chinas government has never cared about human rights. They don’t take any refugees from any country.
15
@chico9805 you also realize that half of Russias reserves are frozen by the west? $300 billion. You also realize that Russia is spending massive amount of money to fight this war and prop up its economy thus leading to huge deficits? In Q1 this year they had a $30 billion deficit, that would be $120 billion over a year! They can’t keep that up while their work force shrinks and they are forced to export at lower prices than they would otherwise.
15
@agapp11able why would sanctions from the international community against China hurt the U.S. more than China? Lol, good one wumao. China doesn’t own most US debt so you lied. Japan owns more than China and China just holds 15% of the FOREIGN owned debt. Foreign owned debt is just a small part of total debt. You really are full of lies wumao
15
@SunsetSecondary "socialism is the future" based on what? That all the socialist countries dropped it?
14
Instead of building a few too many HSR routes that are bleeding so much money ($1 trillion debt and rising rapidly despite some profitable lines), they could have build more traditional rail and or improved it. If you don’t think China needs more non HSR rail then why do they have plans for 70,000 km more of rail?
14
@koalasquare2145 USSR was horrible under Lenin too. He was ruthless but was surpassed by Stalin ruthlessness.
14
Mr Wonder good point with Indians though I would say it applies only broadly to some Indians (or to whatever group is used in this analogy). There are many Indians that truly believe in secularism at home and abroad but plenty that say they want it abroad but at home they defend non secular government.

@agapp11able I’ll repost the question. If you don’t think sanctions deter others from going down this path, why hasn’t China just invaded Taiwan considering China now has the 2nd strongest military and could take Taiwan. The answer is that China knows it will come with major sanctions against them and their economy will suffer. Same reason russia hasn’t just invaded Ukraine yet — they are looking for (manufactured) justification first so they could ignore some of the sanctions.
14
@ArawnOfAnnwn 30% of Taiwan support independence now or in future and only 9% support unification now or in the future. The rest support status quo and decide later. And i would venture to guess that vast majority who support status quo support independence of China agreed not to invade
13
@ArawnOfAnnwn ""This is about what China will do" - about what America will do imo. The current tensions started with them." The current tension started when China increased aggressive attitudes towards Taiwan, began increasing military flights near Taiwan, and oppressed Hong Kong. Taiwan lost any faith a unification in the future when they saw how horrible PRC treated HK. You seem to think China isn't a threat? What do you think of the ge-noc.ide in Xinjiang? What happened in 1989 near Tiananmen Square?
13
@chico9805 invading Ukraine in 2014 helped boost up Putin’s approval rating after dropping. He was suspected of tampering with elections in 2012 and some people were upset that Putin was running again. There was no geopolitical reason for the invasion — if we had to name the primary reason it’s that Putin wants to be remembered like Peter the Great so he thought he had an easy win in taking Ukraine.

@Happy-xi9hl I generally like nebula. I’m paying just slightly over $1 a month and I watch maybe 30 videos a month there, mostly from 8-10 channels I follow. That’s up to 10 hours of watching without dealing with ads plus I get free download all for $1.10 a month. Just wish it had a comment section and wish I could save playlists.

“What I read is some empty HSR is converted to freight for cargo”. Lol, nice shilling for China. Regular rail can move much more freight than HSR. Freight is basically non existent on HSR because it’s too expensive and would require modifications. China should have built traditional rail in half of these routes instead of going a trillion in debt just to try to make China look so much wealthier with all the extra HSR.

Yes, it would be nice to have a better understanding of the underlying causes of each event but that would make for a very long video. My understanding is there a few major factors that most causes are tied to one way or another and which I believe all were mentioned at some point in the video: 1. Xi is more nationalistic and aggressive than any CCP leader since Mao. 2. China is becoming more militarily & economically powerful (thus also politically powerful) and feels it can be more aggressive. Look at it's actions in the south china sea 3. Most Taiwanese were born well after the slit with the PRC. Fewer and fewer Taiwanese see themselves as 'Chinese'. Reminds me of Emperor Justinian of the Eastern Roman Empire (Byzantines). In 475, Italy (and the what was left of the western Roman Empire) was taken over by Germanic groups. About 60-70 years later, Emperor Justinian comes into Italy to bring Italy back into the control of the 'Romans'. But almost one from Italy was alive during the last time it was under Roman rule and they no longer identified as the same group as the Eastern Roman Empire. 4. China's treatment of Hong Kong which was supposed to be far more automous scared a huge number of those that held out hope for a unification. 5. In part to all the above 4 factor, Taiwan has been increasingly showing itself as independent.

I didn’t learn anything new. It was like a video for someone that knows zero about this topic while I expect from this channel a bit more detail and depth as if we already know the basics
12
@vstachen7761 "Victory over Japan is equivalent to restoring Taiwan as Chinese territory" You do realize China was getting beat terribly and it was the US that beat Japan? And that's not how it works -- China being on the side of the victor US does not mean China gets everything - but the KMT did get Taiwan which is why they are there.
12
While the US took the brunt of the fighting with 2/3 of the losses from the US, it was a team effort that mostly included US, UK and Canada
12
@五毒学生 what’s up 50 cent
12
@HenryTitor u lie buts what ur source Poland and Hungary taking territory from UKraine?
11
@HenryTitor since 2017 when the ge.no.cide started, Uyghurs birth rates plummeted to well below national average. How does this support your argument that all is okay?
11
@HenryTitor source on what? You mean u made up stuff and didn’t know another the subject?
11
@ulrichleukam1068 but they are selling as much of the natural resources as they can. If they sell too much, then flood the market bribing the prices down which lead to losses. Russian oil and gas are expensive to extract. It’s not like Saudi Arabia where it’s just sitting near or on the surface.
11
@agapp11able the entire point of over building HSR was to show off to the world. Discussed at 13:20. If they cared about the future economic conditions, they would have built traditional rail that is more affordable to the population and can be used for freight so that inland cities manufactures have more freight options. China loves to try to show off and pretend it’s richer than it is — now they are $1 trillion in debt on HSR and debt is growing rapidly.
11
@agapp11able wumao thinks the criticism in the video is just conjecture from the author but then repeats CCP talking points everywhere to defend $1 trillion debt on HSR. So why not build traditional rail that can be used by everyone in these smaller markets AND could function as freight rail to help all the manufacturers?
11
@Tommidgely170 China learned a lot from Mao…And yet Xi Jinping erased term limits, consolidated power, and has created a cult of personality. So it doesn’t look like they learned from Mao.
11
@SunsetSecondary " There are many examples of socialism working" yet they all failed. "but a good example of socialism working is when Salvador Allende was elected president of chile in 1970" The average Real GDP contracted between 1971 and 1973 at an annual rate of 5.6% ("negative growth"), and the government's fiscal deficit soared while foreign reserves declined. During this time, a shortage in basic commodities led to the rise of black markets which ended in late 1973 after Allende was ousted.
10
There isn’t a wider economic benefit. It’s a luxury travel for the richer people of China. It does have some economic benefits but it doesn’t mean all HSR routes are smart decisions which is why HSR has $1 trillion debt and growing rapidly in China despite having many lines that are profitable. The reason they over built HSR is because China wants to fake it to the world about how great they are. They also built some routes as a way to help oppress people in some parts like Xinjiang where they are committing genocide and Tibet where people have been oppressed for a long time.
10
@k98killer got it. Yeah, I agree that if they will invade Taiwan, they will start small and take those islands. Much like how Russia started with Crimea then Donbas before finally a big invasion
10
@vstachen7761 " In conclusion, you cannot deny that China was the victor of World War" No, the US was. China was on the winning side -- but ur argument is that since China was on the winning side where the US won it, China gets everything they want? They weren't on the negotiation table. This point is moot becuase KMT did get Taiwan and still have Taiwan so it's not important. Why do you support the camps of Uyghurs???
10
Yeah, and their news while not bias on the top is it covers, doesn’t cover the bad stories about Qatar
10
Russia in 10 years is will be a shell of its former self . This video doesn’t even cover other issues compounding the issue not related to population decline directly such as: 1. Russia having to spend tens and tens of billions (USD) to just keep their currency stable 2. The likely hundred of billions (USD) the war will cost by the time it’s over 3. The cuts in spending needed and already implemented to offset just some of the cost of the war
10
USSR and China and etc have entered the chat to fund coup

@KevinJohnson-cv2no ": If a power structure is healthy and transparent, then the De Jure & De Facto should be the same individuals". Yes, and in good democracies, De Jure and De Facto are the same. In weak democracies such as Russia or in non-democracies such as China, they are not necessarily the same.

@sophisticatedthumb5364 Curtis Jackson, how is it not totalitarian? what do you think is going on in Xinjiang? are you also aware the govt has full control of înfô & nëwś?
9
@sophisticatedthumb5364 no surprise tan.kie like u supports êxêcûtiôn of people making money within laws created by the govt.
9
@user-zr3fm4db8f I agree, it was clear the trend line wasn’t great but that lots of other data support that theory. I also agree it wasn’t the most convincing video even if I generally agreed with it. It seemed a little light in the facts and only had a few key points stretched out to make the video.
9
@overlord9476 Eastern Rusia land is far bigger and more resources. It’s more valuable if not for the reason that the PRC wants to continue this manufactured need of Taiwan in order to drive up Nationalism. Taiwan has almost zero value to PRC if the Chinese government didn’t manufacture all of this. It’s a tiny island with little natural resources. And if you want to bring up “Taiwan has Han Chinese”, then why not ask those Han Chinese in that island what they want? Point being, that isn’t a reason nor justification for any invasion
9
@arlosmith9504 China invading Vietnam to defend Pol Pot is like Soviets invading Poland to help Hitler.
9
The rankings are global though. These ranking are for universities around the world and not just the US.
9
@w.lyunen991 "Long before the Dutch invaded Taiwan, there were Taiwanese aborigines" Correct, it was not part of China in ancient times. It had it's own rule and it's own peoples.
9
@GrigRP a lot to the early comments are exactly that— b0t replies. Usually it’s a very vague comment like this one by OP. You can copy and paste that to any video.
9
China going the route of Russia and destroying international norms and laws would also be very horrible. If China invades Taiwan, the rest of the South China Sea and East China Sea are next. That means Vietnam, japan and South Korea are in danger.
9
@lc7583 Taiwan is a country in practice. And no they are not a province of China. Well, unless you agree they mainland China belongs to the government of Taiwan? So quite playing these word games that don’t add value to the discussion. Do you support South Korea invading North Korea. It’s they simple — it’s the most perfect comparison. Two nations that fought a civil war and no settlement ever reached. It’s becoming obvious u r a .5 RMB type
9
@saumyacow4435 Melbourne to Geelong is the same. 70km and Geelong has only 250,000 people. These are routes for traditional rail You troll. You save maybe 30 minutes with HSR but would pay a much higher ticket price. Few would pay that large ticket picket for that small of a time saving.
8
@jcrobin1991 funny because you are a wumao defending China consistently. You probably even defends China over its genocide of Uyghurs and Muslims in Xinjiang, right?
8
@vstachen7761 u r unable to acknowledge what is happening in Xinjiang or that the US is the one that defeated Japan? So u only admit what the ççp says?
8
@wei270 I’m so shocked u don’t believe the atrocities are happening in western China. So shocked. I’m also so so shocked you suggest only one protester in 1989 near Tiananmen was kîłled. Btw, thousands of protesters in oem week weren’t killed in the US during Vietnam protest.
8
@travistucker1033 South Korea is rich and they were colonized. Same with Hong Kong. And Vietnam is growing. Colonialism did have an impact but you’re right it goes deeper.
