That's not what happened. Remember that the original plan was for two states and that it failed because the Arab nations decided to attack Israel, and they lost. Remember that the Palestinians were offered a state with 94%of the land they wanted plus Jerusalem as a shared capital, but Arafat not only refused but started the 2nd Antifada. Which is why the borders are now closed. Israel didn't take anything at the expense of anyone, except as the result of defensive wars. You can't blame them, as hard as you're trying.

@patrickbuchler686 because ignoring all the other things mentioned except for cherry picked 'human rights' group reports is an unbiased way to form an opinion right? NGOs are far from corruption free. Far from apolitical. What makes you think otherwise? Much has been documented about that, why not look closer? Anyway I'm out. I'm so exhausted from this, it's endless. Good luck. I hope you overcome your selective outrage one day.

"The first Jews came to Palestine". Jews never left, some have always been there.
8
@hanazawarui-jb9ic so you didn't watch the video then. Just glossed right past it to copy and paste your hatred in one more spot before moving on. 'human rights' eh?
8
@patrickbuchler686 you've been totally outclassed in that discussion and are too stubborn to recognize it and change. Ok then, you hang on to your needless hatred and resentment. Enjoy it.

Arafat never said yes and never intended to. He was groomed and installed by the Soviets to do their bidding and he remained a Russian asset until the end. The plan was always for him to talk peace and statehood in English and then to keep saying 'no' when he got up to the plate. He never stopped talking about Jihad and the destruction of Israel when speaking Arabic. He died with a billion dollars of the Palestinians aid money in his accounts and a Nobel prize for peace. He's still considered a hero by the Palestinians who grow up awash in propeganda and hate. No single person has done more to destroy the peace between Arabs and Jews in the last century.
7
Well it's not irrelevant either. One of the other things Palestinian leadership thinks is sinful and a crime against Allah is for Jews to live and for Israel to exist. It's in the charter of Hamas and of the original PLO in 1964. (Only changed in words to please western eyes. It never really changed.) Also Hizbollah, the Islamic state of Iran and almost every Islamist Jihadi group. It very much defines the actual reasons for the conflict in fact.

@battletrick the Geneva convention applies during times of war. I'm not sure it applies here. Either way, Jordan moved into the West bank and took it from Israel in 48, in a move considered to be an illegal occupation by the int'll community. During that time it kicked out the Jews who were there and filled it with Arabs, now calling themselves Palestinians no matter where they originated. The settlements are tiny by comparison and Arabs haven't been expelled en mass as had been the Jews of the area previously. Israel's action since 67 is far less invasive than Jordans had been, whatever the legalities of the situation claim about it then and now.
5
Exactly what I was thinking. Up until a few years ago that thing would have been stomped a few seconds after its gutless display at any school anywhere. Wtf has happened to the west.
5
@keithiverson2644 a large scale genetic test was conducted.
5
Are there no guys in that school who could return the favour on that girls behalf?
4
She probably does have enough experience with cultural indoctrination against Jews and Israel that are rampant throughout the mid East. And not totally absent inside Israel either.
4
@patrickbuchler686 whatever it is then that leads you to fixate and judge out of hand along an abnormally harsh and arbitrary standard from the comfort and safety of your safe and unthreatened home.
4
???
3
Spread the word, please. The jihadists surrounding you are supported by vast numbers of misguided westerners and its not clear your home can survive over the long haul. Please find a way to bring voices like yours to the west. I can't overstate how bad the situation has become. Thanks for your words and honesty.
3
@nigel.w they're not divided right now, I assure you.

Why people dont listen to Aayan Hirsi Ali and those like her is mind boggling to me. Whatever happens, shes done her part to help. Shes a global treasure.

Lol!!

@markaxworthy2508 so then by what authority would you acknowledge the legitimacy of any Arab state made there? Or do you now acknowledge the legitimacy of Jordan? Let alone Iraq, Iran, Syria, Lebanon, etc? And if you don't, why is it I only ever see you picking on Israel?
2
@markaxworthy2508 that is not so. None of it. And it doesn't explain Jordan at all, but leaves it out entirely. And it doesn't explain why you have such a bone to pick only with Israel. I can see that you're reaching- you're bending facts left and right to try to produce a motivation . But even still it makes no sense. The land the Jewish Palestinians got was mostly garbage. They took it anyway. They let Arabs stay to boot. Which is why Israel's population is 20% Arab. (How many Jews in the PA??) Had the Arabs who remained after the creation of Jordan just accepted their land and gotten on with it all would be ok. They endlessly refuse to do that. (The Soviets are to thank for that as it happens. They groomed and installed Arafat to do their bidding, and he did. He destroyed the Palestinians in keeping with the Soviet/Arab League aim to weaponize them and use them as a tool to destroy Israel, increase their influence in the mid east and to destroy the west..THATS what happened to BOTH Israelis and Palestinians. To fail to recognize that is to doom the future, and not just for both of them)
2
paperplane-db8qf ???? Israel pulled out of Gaza in 05. They forcibly cleared Israeli villages, some of which had been there hundreds of years. There was not a single soldier or civilian there. You can look for video of the action if you wanted to. It was a mini Palestinian state, a part of a state they were offered by israel 4 times previously and turned down. Whats wrong with you that you refuse to believe what's right in front of you?
2
@notloki3377 look in the mirror.
2
@patrickbuchler686 good. There isn't.
2
@jasonwiley798 so what do you disagree with?
2
@casebased8391 the Arabs were given the same opportunity. Niether the Arabs or the Jews had self determination under the Ottomans. The British offer to Palestinian Arabs was the first freedom the Arabs would have known. They chose war instead and then lost. Rinse repeat, Rinse repeat etc
2
@patrickbuchler686 no different in Israel, big it. Compare that to any of the surrounding states you have no problem with. Authoritarian dictatorships. Except for ruling family no other Muslims can be president. Let alone Jews, which there are none due to the fact they'd be torn to pieces just for being there. You say no taxation without representation but have no trouble with any of those dictatorships, just with the only democracy in the region. Of course. You also willfully ignore Israel's very real demographic challenge and pass it off dismissively, as there are only 7 million Jews there, and only 15 mil in the world. You pick on a specific imperfection that results from a demographic necessity and then judge the entire democracy a failure. Again while ignoring that it's the only democracy in the entire region AND the only country in the mid East where Arabs are truly free. Israel is 20% Arab and a democracy to boot. Still you can't keep from making smug, superior judgements upon it and willfully ignoring both the necessity of the constraints you pick on AND the remarkable nature of what they've achieved there in spite of all if it. You are a hateful big it, pretending you are not.
2
Lol. What world are you living in.
1
@ricardomurillo5205 lol. Sure thing. So forgetting that snake pit, your solution now is what-support the Mullahs that are torturing their own people, destabilizing the entire region and threatening to wipe a neighbor off the map? Who sides with communist China and Russia in a power block designed to rewrite the world order to shape itself in the dictatorships image? This is a good idea to you?
1
Both the resident Arabs and the incoming Jews would have had their own state to live in had the Arabs accepted the deal. They didn't, and they lost the war they started. On what basis do they deserve recompense or sympathy?
1
@delnavaznirvana9404 nationalize Iranian oil or steal American and UK funded oil development in Iran? These are two different things. Also they were way better off with the Shah. Ask any Iranian alive before the revolution what they think of it, how much worse their lives have become. Now they're stuck with it because the regime is so brutal. It's horrible. If any country calls for regime change, Iran is it.
1
Throw people out of their homes and steal their land eh? Go back to Al Jazeera, you're going to miss the next big outrage.
1
Boooorrrringgg. Take your groupthink outrage elsewhere.
1
It didn't stop them from anything. The Ayatollahs can't be trusted at all.
1
At an uncivilized and unsensible time, for a sensible and civilized reason. Never to be repeated.
1
Not when they explicitly threaten to use it, and when they already have a track record of militant disruption and destabilization (see their effect on Lebanon for example). Then the bomb ensures no measure can be taken to rein them in.
1
Iran is the reason Israel and the Palestinians are at loggerheads, not the other way around. It began with the Soviets, who used Arafat, their asset, to create chaos. The Palestinian people were mere footballs for Arafat and the Arab league. Israel has been stuck with a problem created by the Soviets to drive a wedge into the West. They have succeeded, your post is proof of that. The Palestinians have been hung out to dry by their own from the beginning, and everyone is worse off for it.

This guy is a powerhouse, the way his grandfather must have been.

I've had many wonderful Persian friends. I'm sorry for the situation in your country. That government uses its money to destroy others. Look at Lebanon. It is terrible that sanctions hurt the people but the government doesn't care enough about its people to behave responsibly such that sanctions can be lifted.
1
@AAWT BANG ON!! X100000
1
@tasinal-hassan8268 when Iran suffered a terrible earthquake in 53 Israel was there for its people. There is no necessary animosity between Israelis and Persians. No Persian I know is happy for the outcome of that revolution. Iranians themselves are the biggest sufferers of that government.
1
Thank you SO much for this.
1
Go Katie! So glad youve overcome.
1
@milesbredon9355 no it doesn't. Knock it off.
1
@milesbredon9355 you are the person who made that assertion, not him. The Arabs only arrived after the conquests of Mohammad. Why do you stand by the results of their conquest, and then get your panties in a bunch over Israel's win in a defensive war?
1
You'd be prickly too if people were trying to kill you and blame you all day, every day. Look in the mirror- you're the problem.
1
Fun fact: you're full of shit and you like it.
1
Both reasons are true. they have no desire to do it but he's also correct about the likely outcome.
1
You need to be reminded who your friends really are. Don't worry, the Islamists will remind you.
1
@MrRedeyedJedi Israel is a first world democracy whose 20% Arabs are truly free. It's not the same at all.
1
@ROM-ry9ij deviation from status quo isn't 'growth'.
