  8. Pro tip: Once you cover them in a salt-rub for about 30 minutes most of the bitterness goes away along with the liquids. Also, cover the eggplants in a cup of tomatoe paste, crushed garlic and 3-4 tablespoons of coconut oil (or beef tallow), and put in the oven on medium-low for like 30 minutes until soft. (Why did I add a recipe in a comment? I’m sorry lol I can’t help it).

  11. Try the Russian way, it’s better. You just add buttermilk to the batter instead of milk, it makes the pancakes fluffier without adding baking powder. I don’t like American pancakes, they’re WAY too sweet and almost always underdone for my taste, but I can’t understand how you make pancakes without eggs…

  28. Haha, I didn’t know Americans actually got it right with the pronunciation of the H in “herbs”, lol. Also, it’s especially surprising considering most Americans haven’t seen an herb unless it accidentally fell on their frozen hamburger. I do find it adorable when some people in the UK and Ireland pronounce the letter H as “Heich”, but now that I know why, it also makes perfect sense.

  29. This reminded me of the only healthy cookies I made and liked. If I remember correctly, They consist of oatmeal, date syrup (Silan), and tahini. You mix like two tablespoons of Silan with a half-cup of tahini, then you take 1/2cup of oatmeal and start mixing it all together until it forms a doe. It’s supposed to be sticky, but not too sticky. If it’s too watery to hold its shape - add more oats, and if it’s too solid - add more tahini, You can also add a pinch of salt to taste. You don’t even have to bake them, I needed up eating half of the first batch before putting it into the oven. You put it in the oven in 180C (300F if I’m not mistaken…) for like 10 minutes or so. You can’t go wrong with baking times because none of the ingredients are bad for you raw, and you just have to figure out how dry you like your cookie. 😍

  46. Omg. Seeing what that generation are, I’m shocked so many of them live so long (knock on wood). Processed TV dinners, the cans that were rusty on the inside, powdered eggs and spam.. 🤢 Although, I’d like to try experimenting with the powdered eggs sometime, it could probably be used for something that isn’t a fresh morning omelette.. like onion or garlic powder… Also, they did discover some good stuff back then as well, like sweet condensed milk, I used to fight everyone over the can as a kid, then eat as much as I could and get totally sick from how sweet and sticky it was. 😂🤣 I don’t know if Americans had the same condensed milk as we had in Russia, but the Russian food stores still have it, and I would take it over dulce de leche any day. 🥰

I know we’re the first generations to have class mobility and be able to choose where we live, what we eat and how we dress, but still… didn’t people get offended? Especially the middle classes who always steered revolutions.. BTW, let’s please talk about the fact that the Irish famine was absolutely British-engineered. There’s no friggin way someone can starve to death on a fish-rich island because potato crops failed… and there’s a TON of evidence that beef was exported during that time and fishing was maffia business. That’s not coincidence.
