(Also, have you tried making this fish pudding recipe without salting the living crap out of the water?).
SHUBA, is made with salted oily fish (mackerel or Matthias), topped with potatoes, eggs, other stuff and beets. If you make it right - it’s an acquired taste.
BTW, my favorite part of any fish are the cheeks, the eyes and the brain (fish heads in general 😍), and the ikras (eggs), or that thing males have instead… I forgot what it’s called, provided it’s not bitter, and also, that part of the tail, right before the end, especially if it’s salted fish, because then it’s chewy like jerky. 😍.
