I would be hitting up the classic car bone yards to find some parts for that thing because they are getting to be rare nowdays and you being in AZ they have the best classic car junk yards in the Country
2
Speaking of that 1960 Fury Cold war motors restored one of those on his channel its a nice looking car and you should check his straight 8 showdown between a 1953 Packard Clipper and a 1950 Buick Riviera they both were seized and in horrible shape but its awesome anyway here is a link to the straight 8 showdown its in a few chapters https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vOBBU6h8BFU&list=PL3naAFlKUN6dm9YFkzphRMGVC4gd7E30A

I find carb cleaner or Acetone really loosens the old gaskets using stripper and meth chloride is extreme stuff to use lol but I guess if it works but that stuff is a little extreme to remove gaskets in my pinion lol
2
I had a couple 3 wheeler's back in the day my first one was a yellow Suzuki 125 and then I had a Honda big red 250 with the rack in the front and back they were fun but I liked 2 stroke dirt bikes the best and old Yamaha snowmobiles are my faves
2
I have seen old sears battery's they are from the 80's as far as i know anyway. They could of made them longer but I don't know but I bet that car has been sitting since the 80's
2
That's some cool mods you did to that thing the drive belt is a good idea. I have snowmobiles and they have a spot for a extra drive belt so I'm surprised that thing would not have one too. I always carry extra spark plug too because you never know
2
Man that 383 sounds good that cam that's in that thing is nice and lopey. I love it that car is so awesome
2
You should of got that Buick running again too that is a nice car also but that Eldorado turned out great
2
1975 El Camino is like the car you had the white one or the car Cleetus got for sick Week that they call lumber jack. Chris if you did not see Cleetus sick week episodes you gotta check it out it's funny
2
Your friend enjoys all the blow by LMAO!! I almost pissed my self laughing when he asked if the breather tube on the valve cover was the exashast LOL!!
2
A great channel to watch about the Detroit diesels is the old2stroker channel here is a link to it if you wanna check it out https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=veyQa5crUBA
2
I have not used a bumper jack in a long time I use to play with them and jack up cars when I was a kid but now I use a hydraulic jack it's a lot safer then the bumper jack but I like those better then those scissor jacks
2
That's the thing about southern cars they are rust free but the interiors are crispy. you have to take a rust free car from the south and use the non crispy interiors from the north east and then you got a great car inside and out
2
Yeah it's too bad not much is made in the USA anymore and it seems there is a side of the government that wants to make sure nothing get's made in the USA anymore so we got to live with everything made in china so collecting them old tools are great they were quality made and to last a lifetime.
2
That wagon sounds bad ass that old 383 is awesome one of my favorite engines of the B family and then the 440 is my favorite of the RB family that and the 426 Hemi that is.
2
Don't even bother power washing it and fixing it just a bit just get the thing running and put it on the water. well you should keep that engine or sell it to someone that will appreciate it before you let it sink somewhere
2
I love your video's I have already watched them a few times I just wish there was more lol!
2
I use to ride those spring rockers when I was young the park down the street from my house had them and use to ride them that and the merry go round. I was born in 1979 and we had the best stuff as kids sure the stuff could hurt you but that's all part of growing up it was so much better then the plastic junk they have today. The playgrounds are so boring today compared to the stuff I had as a kid.
2
So you are a mechanic in your day job?
2
That's the good thing about old cars there is not many things that can go wrong to stop you in your tracks. Now if it was a computer controlled car if you don't have the proper equipment your screwed unless you get it to a garage but on the old cars you can diagnose everything on the side of the road with hardly any tools
2
Use pine sol in that ultrasonic cleaner if you want to see real results. It will take a carb and turn it to brand new. It's works great for me. Chem dip will work to but Pine Solis so much cheaper and it all natural cleaner. I have never tried it but a friend of mine said vinegar works good too
2
Just looking at the battery now you know why most cars have the battery trays and steel around the tray rotted away and that is because of the battery
2
I don't know why automakers don't put stainless steel screws in for the License plate screws on my cars I always put stainless in instead of the steel screws that rust and they start staining the plate and the paint on the car. I have seen a few cars have major rust stains from the screws and it looks like total crap when it's easy to go buy some stainless screws and they will last forever and not rust all over the plate and paint of the car.
2
That sailboat by the way is the Mayflower going to Plymouth Rock anyway what a classic car I'm a sucker for the old cars like that and it's the same age as my Parents it's too bad I live in Canada because I would buy that car right up but it's a little far for me and dealing with the customs is something I don't really want to do again unless it's a car that I really want but it's a cool car none the less plus I want to get something a little older then a 1954
2
That's cool that car is clean for it's age and the engine is real healthy being the PSI is at 150 to 140. I was thinking of taking a plane out west and bringing back a nice car for myself since I live in the rust belt and everything here is rusty. So going there getting a good car and taking a vacation at the same time would be cool to do now just to find a good time I can get off working in order to make that trip is the biggest issue I am going to have.
2
That noise coming from the wrecker could it be the hanger bearing starting to go? That's my first guess of what it is because it sounds like it a bit but it has been a while since I had one go on me.
2
Really people had to find out common sense did not clue them in LOL Anyway that's why you go get in a head on with anything and everything will be alright. That van was a daily driver since new and it has made it with some bumps and dents but nothing too bad.
2
What a sweet ride the interior is moldy but with some good cleaning you can get them seats and that all cleaned up . I love the dark tinted windows too. What a score you got. Make sure you go over the sub frame real well and make sure it's solid and not rotted out anyway Nice ride
2
Damn you guys write that tune or what and Jen can sing good man she is talented damn!

That Galaxy radio is a good one I use to be into CB and those are good they have more wattage then what is legal. On AM legal is 4 watts and on side band it's 12 watts but that radio you can turn it up and get 10 or 12 watts on am and on side band you can get 50 to 90 watts plus get a bunch of extra channels and half channels. it really a 10 meter radio but lot of CB guys use it for shooting skip that one is a older one and means it's a good one. you need to test that radio out but you have to have a cb anntenna hooked to it and you need to set the swr on it so you don't blow the tranmit finals out of it but if it works you can get some good money for it. here is a guy with he same radio https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BKQxeEGxhvg
2
You did not even need the trailer it had a tow bar already on the thing LOL!! That would of good all the wheels rolling good by the time you got it home
2
Cars sitting around and under trees do not last long they rot out so fast due to the leaves sitting on the car and holding and collecting all the water and moisture and they rot so fast that's why I stay away from cars sitting around trees not to mention all the bugs they attract too
2
Yeah the weather did not take long to turn it went from a 60 degree day to cold and snowing the next but I guess that's what we get when we have 60 to 70 degree days in the beginning of November anyway it was good while it lasted but now the crap weather begins . It's going to take me a while to get use to the cold weather and it will be alright.
2
That early 70s LTD sounds cool reminds me of the moonshiner car off the movie White Lightning with Burt Reynolds
1
All 350's had a 2bbl carb if you wanted a 4bbl you had to get a 400 but many of them came with a 2bbl too. you gotta remember the early 70's the emissions and gas crunch killed the performance in all the engines. Chrysler was the only one that held out till 1972 to kill the power but GM and Ford started killing the power in 1971 and every year after it got worst and worst with lower compression and smog killing devices.
1
The good old oil bath oil filters they used them in big trucks into the 1970ès I know my grandfathers Dodge grain hauler truck had oil bath filter too. They work real good back when roads were all dirt a paper element would clog right up quick but the oil bath they filter the dirt great and you don't have to worry about a clogged filter
1
well that sucks that you did not try to get it going
1
That tool is badass there is nothing like old school tools. you should check out Strongs garage and see all the tools they have for Modal T`s and Modal A Fords. Here isa good link with some old tools they scored https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dll0CbCxsQ8

That thing had to of been sitting since 76 the amount of rot and everything on it I bet 76 was the last time that thing saw the road it very well could of ran after that and it's cool on how little needed to be done to get it running. No stuck valves or anything it just fired right up like a champ.
1
I use to load the back of a Aerostar van up with rads from central air units and out of AC units and cash it in and made good money that was back in the mid 90's the price of copper and copper alum mixed has gone up since back then. At he time #1 copper was a buck 25 a pound and I was making a great chunk of cash and the places were giving me the old Central air units for free now most places take it in themselves because they get good coin for it.
1
I was big into demo derby's back in the late 90's the cars I would use is the 1977 to the 1990 Impala Caprice Classics. I had a bunch of them it was great because the police stopped using them in the early 90's then they would be used as taxi cabs or daily drivers then they would go to scrap and that is when I would by them up my friends old man had a junk yard and if any came in I would give him $300 for each car. I* won many heats with them cars. They were the most popular car for the demo's at the time.
1
My old 1985 square body had those vents pulls under the dash. They come on the trucks without AC I think anyway they work good on those days you don't want the wind noise from the window down and want some fresh air from outside
1
U haul usually have their own engines built by Ford the 79 U haul Zipties got had a 330CI now if you know Ford never made one well they did but only for the U haul trucks so it could be a 330 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8NbXm3V-_nM&t=3106s
1
I was just watching Junkyard Digs and he had a boat on his channel that he got for free and it had a 4 banger in it too but it needed some work done on it.
1
That rollback needs a cummings find a 24 valve 5.9 for that thing you should check out JH Diesels 77 Chevy he had a 24 Valve 5.9 out of his burnout truck but he blew it up so he put a 6.7 Cummings in it the thing is a sweet ride
1
Damn that a sweet truck I love the looks of those old Mack Trucks they are cool looking
1
Hey Chris check this video out about a 09 Honda accord if you have some spare time https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=urd8S7eo0rc
1
I am really surprised you did not bend push rods when turning it over after sitting for that long valves are 99% of the time stuck. Somebody must of been running that car within that time for the valves not to be stuck. That's amazing
1
Hey Chris what ever happen to that car did you sell it or still have it because that car is a sweet car one of the best you acquired since doing the video's in my opinion and worth the most too the Fury wagon is awesome too but that chevelle being what it is with a big block has the most value and the most collectible cars and out of the many Chevelles I have seen you just don't see as many 71 as you do the 72 cars.
1
That wetbike is nasty I don't know how you have a stomach for that but I could just imagine the smell of that thing
