Dr. Been was taking 10,000 ui of Vitamin D daily, and when he tested his Vitamin D levels, they were still low. Why? If 10,000 ui daily was unable to maintain his Vitamin D level, then there’s something seriously wrong with him, right? Whatever is wrong with him will not be fixed by taking more Vitamin D. The only thing taking more Vitamin D will fix is his Vitamin D levels. So the question is, does increasing Vitamin D levels by taking a pill also decrease all cause mortality? Or do we need to fix the underlying problem that is causing low Vitamin D levels? There’s a chance that taking pills will help you, but there’s also a chance that it won’t. The way to find out is to identify people like Dr. Been, and conduct an intervention study. It’s important to understand that Vitamin D is made from Cholesterol. In fact many hormones are made from Cholesterol. A severe Cholesterol deficiency might cause Vitamin D deficiency and a deficiency of many other hormones. Maybe Vitamin D deficiency is just an indicator of Cholesterol deficiency.

At 16:00 of Dr. Been’s video it says that in the first 3 waves when the community infection rate reached 26%… https://youtu.be/3yvT3rm9GbE This means that the community infection rate exceeded 26% 3 times, which means that over 75% - 80% of the population had Covid already. Then, about 24% have been vaccinated. Over 90% of the population has antibodies. There could be some overlap between those 26% infected during each wave, but given that antibodies are very effective at preventing symptoms, there likely isn’t much overlap. Also in Oslo of the 120 infected at that party and the hotel that hosted it, none became severely ill meaning that the vaccines are very effective at preventing severe disease from Omicron. What we don’t yet know is what happens to the unvaccinated who haven’t been infected and therefore have no antibodies. I’m sure we’ll soon find out.

  4. Sunniva, How do you know he caught a cold? Maybe he got a lung infection from his own bacteria in his mouth. Did he get a PCR test? Did he go to a doctor to get diagnosed? Or are we basing it on symptoms? Every time you feel sick, how do you determine the cause?

If you were part of that 5% who were immunologically naive, getting infected by Omicron was an unnecessary risk. So far over half of that 5% have been infected, but there are still some people out there who continue to be immunologically naive. These people, although a small minority, are still at increased risk of severe disease.

Over 65% were vaccinated in Seychelles, and they opened up too early and their cases have skyrocketed. My guess is that you’re going to be glad you’re vaccinated after the latest Indian variants have become established.

  13.  @nicoledburns82 , About 50% who are infected by this virus have been asymptomatic since the pandemic started. With polio infection 90% are asymptomatic. It’s actually not weird. Everyone reacts differently. Before we had PCR testing technology we had no clue about such things. We didn’t know and had no way to know when someone was infected. We only knew when they were sick, and we diagnosed them by their symptoms.

I’ve learned a lot about our immune systems, cellular biology, and other stuff. How about you? Have you learned anything? It seems that despite the availability of information, many are even more confused than they were before. It seems that many lack the capacity to learn.   25. Sinovac is fine. The problem is that they haven't reached herd immunity because not enough people have been vaccinated yet. In Brazil they vaccinated 95% of the adults in a town with Sinovac (Coronavac) and they reduced hospitalizations by 95%. The neighboring towns have not been vaccinated yet, so they're surrounded by unvaccinated people.

The slide says that Delta hospitalizes 12.8% of those infected, and Omicron only hospitalizes 2.5% of those infected. But, Dr. Been failed to consider that Omicron is infecting people who have existing antibodies at a higher rate than Delta, and those people who have preexisting antibodies are less likely to experience severe disease which means they are less likely to be hospitalized. Therefore, we still do not know whether Omicron is less severe or more severe than Delta in those who have no preexisting antibodies from either previous infection or vaccination. We still need to compare the hospitalization rates of Delta and Omicron among those who lack antibodies. In other words, this study does not show that Omicron is less lethal than Delta.

In the US there are 330 million people. Since the average lifespan is 86 years, on average 3,837,209 people die per year. Only 500,000 people died of Covid, but if they hadn’t locked down, and did all the social distancing and mask stuff, they could have easily overwhelmed the hospitals and it could have been 20 to 30 million. The fatality rate is 1%, but with proper medical care. Without proper medical care, it 10-15%. That’s why they’re freaking out in India right now. People are currently dying so shouldn’t be.

  36. Not double blind? When participants self select, then different types of people choose to take the drug vs. those who choose not to. It’s very likely that those who are willing to take a pill to prevent Covid would also be more likely to wear a mask, and take other precautions to avoid exposure to the virus.
