LOL @ Solovyev! Guess all his tech support people fled the country.

My guess is that, as a retired military professional, he said something negative about the war effort. Hypothermia is a nice departure from the usual 'falling out of a window'.
1
It would have been better if they had gone to an amusement park and decorated some bumper cars to look like tanks. Maybe have paint ball guns in the 'turrets'. But no, as you say, they had to do something much sadder. Even the people pushing those cardboard tanks around the basketball court looked kind of sad. I would have been a bit embarrassed dressing up as a soldier and participating in that activity, but it's becoming clear that embarrassment is not an emotion Russians possess.
1
Good point - if they are half as unhinged as Margarita Simonyan and Olga Skabeeva were on Jake's recent shows, it's not clear that there is any rational decision making in our future.

When something burns in Russia, I usually suspect corruption. Some purchasing manager SAYS he purchased twenty million dollars (or 500 trillion rubles) worth of merchandise, but in fact that money went into his pocket. What if somebody performs an audit and discovers the merchandise never actually existed? Burn the place! The merchandise WAS there, but unfortunately all went up in smoke! And now, there are a thousand or so warehouse workers ready to be sold to the Army. Somebody's getting a new yacht this summer!

Partisan Politically Potent Partying Punishing and Pummelling Pissant Putin!
1
Meanwhile, $100 allocated for Belgorod residents displaced by the fighting. Most of which will go into the pockets of your fellow cruise-goers' parents.
1
If Putin somehow scrapes together 2,000,000 draftees and sends them all into the fray, they could overrun any Ukrainian defense. It's a matter of how much the Russians will put up with, but they seem to enjoy suffering for their dear leader, or maybe he's convinced them their that lives really do depend on success in Ukraine. But the more lives they lose, the more they need ultimate victory to make it all worthwhile. If putin does send in overwhelming forces, my guess is the West folds, or gets directly involved.
1
When Jake posts the Ukraine Defense Ministry's list of Russian losses to date, I notice the final line item is 'special equipment'. Have the Ukes actually blown up 200 of Putin's mobile crematoria?
1
They are incompetent monsters with an endless supply of artillery and warm bodies to put in uniforms (well sometimes they don't seem to get uniforms).
1
Since Russian soldiers are supposedly motivated by cash rewards, how about a cash reward to surrender? $50,000, and we send you back home after Putin is deposed. For a fraction of our defense budget, we could coopt every Russian male of military age.
1
tervetuloa puolustajat! (My first attempt at Finnish!)
1
Did anyone see this story? Peacocks to cheer up the Muscovy troops....... ...A Russian zoo said it sent two peacocks to Ukraine with the aim of inspiring Russian troops fighting there — but then deleted its post after people mocked Russian President Vladimir Putin in the comments, according to reports.......
1
@Therakus maybe the hospital manages to kill most patients within two or three days?
1
If Margarita's husband shares her habits, he's probably in an alcoholic stupor.
1
Oh please, please, please let there be some good footage of Skabayeva and Solovyov explaining this!
1
Well, in this regard it seems the Russians decided to catch up to the West.
1
If I lived in Russia, and somebody asked me what I thought about Putin, I think (well really I know) that out of self preservation I would say he is just great.
1
Don't you have a plethora of rabbits?
1
Uh-oh! Thursday and no Jake show! Did the Russians get him on the pay-roll? Will he begin his next broadcast with 'Welcome back Komrades, Dzheyk Broezhenov here, as we enter Day 897 of Russia's heroic liberation of NATO-Ukrofascist-Western-Imperialist-occupied Europe'?
1
In the USSR, a lot of athletes did indeed belong to the KGB. I guess being able to travel for sporting events was a good cover for their other activities.
1
St Petersburg is a really nice city; really designed to be more of a Western city than a part of muscovy. I'm sure most of the residents can't abide Putin. Perhaps one day they can secede from muscovy and once again be sisters with Melbourne.
1
That might be his intention. However, a few of us believe that victory for Putin does not further our long term interests. 'America First' was also a popular slogan in the 1930s. It didn't serve us so well as things turned out.
1
Well, Putin does miss the Soviet Union (and subservient Warsaw Pact).
1
They plan to block every retreating car full of tourists, pull off any military-age males (which is to say 14-70) and immediately conscript them into the army.
1
I wonder if Jake knows anything about somebody hacking Russian radio stations and telling all Russians near the Ukrainian border to flee.
1
Iran gets ~2 billion worth of fighters. Russia gets ~30 million worth of RC toys. Putin's Swiss bank account gets the difference.
1
I don't see how having one of his top allies turn on him makes him look strong...
1
Hey - widows in Siberia get a piece of firewood and a pound of dried fish.
1
Russia could enjoy a truce at any time by leaving Ukraine. And now, Azerbaijan is probably going to join NATO, to Putin's great embarrassment.
1
It's a good format. Start with a listing of dead orc equipment (and dead orcs too!), then maybe a listing of equipment to be sent, then some embarrassing footage from Russia, some footage of Ukrainians heroes, and then something heartwarming.
1
@martinedwards2004 You'd hold your nose as high as possible too, if putin walked past you wearing his soiled diaper.
1
If they missed the target (many did) there was a chance of surviving the water impact and getting fished out by the USN. (Some kamikaze pilots were underachievers - can't really blame them)
1
Hey! What about those Russian college students who were pushing cardboard tanks around a gymnasium floor? When does Putin send them in? Before or after the T-26s?
1
No, they're happy in Canada.
1
@JakeBroe I'll be there for it.
1
Yes, that and Matt Gaetz getting busted for entering Chinese propaganda as an exhibit to a congressional hearing.
1
OK, we haven't had any Olga Skabayeva footage for a while. In fact, I don't recall anything since her stay as the only guest in the Pyongyang hotel. Did something bad happen to her? Was she arrested? Did she eat something bad? Maybe she fell through the floor and got injured?
1
Oh, I find her rather adorable. Didn't want to see her locked up in some Nork prison for stealing an ash tray or something like that......
1
If Russia continues trying to operate ocean-going vessels, every nation along whose coastline they merrily sail is going to go broke constantly deploying Coast Guard craft to perform rescues and oil spill containment. Is that Putin's dastardly plan? To make every country spend their entire national budget on their Coast Guard, leaving nothing for any other defense?
1
We need to immediately place a $1000 national tax on ALL Mercedes, BMWs, Audis, Porches, and Volkswagens sold in the US, regardless of nation of manufacture, the proceeds going directly to the Ukrainian Defense fund.
1
Doesn't Putin have his own train now? Maybe it's one of those armored trains? Be nice to rip up a bit of rail and leave him stranded somewhere out on the steppe...
1
The GOP spent a decade calling France cowardly for not getting involved in Iraq.
1
When people say Soviet Russia, I think they mean Russia when it was part (the only really voluntary part) of the USSR.
1
Sending kids to die? The folks hosting that coffin expo won't like losing the business they were hoping to get when all those husbands and fathers got killed off.
1
Yes, but when did you get your first McDonalds? Not a worthwhile settlement at all until you have at least one of those.😀
1
I assume that in any relationship with Russia, Mexico would make Russia their JUNIOR partner, just as the Chinese have.
1
Well, if even half of the latest news out of Russia is true, Jake's next show is going to be a blast....
1
Did you see the footage of Putin driving across the Crimea Bridge a few months ago? Reminded me of my first driving lesson when I was fourteen. Hands clutching the wheel in a death grip and leaning forward with my face almost pressed against the window as though that would help me see better. My father yelled at me to sit back and relax before I had a stroke.
1
Yes, I think he did .😂
