Yup - you are on no one's clock - do things in your own time. One of my auto immune diseases requires a load of supplements but I also take some scrips too. So I too use one of those. Still I sometimes forgot, so I set an alarm on my phone for daily - around the time that I've already had a coffee, so I'm not taking them on an empty stomach. It's working. Oh I did enjoy the sound of the waves. By the way, 1200 people may have already told you, but we tend to call that a jade plant and I think it turns red if it' has been frozen - but it could be that it cooked in the heat. Not certain. Another terrific video Scott. I hope you find some suitable bags next time you travel.

@patsykluting-lucas3804 That's 2 who know.
1
So yeah, mostly good. Next time you have a good sized paper or cardboard perhaps you can park over it just to check for leaks but since you check it so faithfully it seems kinda scam like.
1
@StaticCamperVan thanks. I will look into it. 😃
1
That's a style I've been seeing a lot lately. They look good on you.I stick with JTCC in the Mellow Ethiopian bean. I think it's time to go make a mug.
1
Yes, that is a really lovely spot. Thanks for taking us along.
1
Such a shame that newport doesn't like visitors. The coast surely is gorgeous. Cheers to the coffee makers.
1
You're right of course! It's lovely!! Thanks for taking us along - here's to an uneventful journey and a smooth resolution to whatever you're working on.
1
Nope - you're not cheap - you are frugal. Cheap would be <shudder> instant coffee from the dollar store. Frugal is finding good beans at a lower price and little tweaks to keep cost (and garbage) at a lower level. I'm a fan of naps, especially while camping. Good for you on the self hair cut. It will get easier, I'm sure. but you're doing a great job. Good meals too. Love how you find a way to put veggies into most meals. Saves lots of $$ on doctor bills and I feel better when I eat well. Hope you find a little cooler place to enjoy.
1
JTCC is the best and my favorite is Ethiopian because normally it's the only single origin most of the time. These days they also have a limited run of another single origin that I'm really looking forward to trying. We live in Yucca Valley and so get a local discount. It's still a little pricey but worth every bean. Isn''t it interesting how the desert changes as you move around in it? Chollas are lovely to look at but difficult to be near. Same with ocotillo - beautiful cacti but super pokey. I love the desert SW but once the pandemic ends, will certainly want to get back to the beach for some nice walks. One thing So Ca is not short of, is great hiking. All sorts of trails, from ocean to mountain to desert, to streams. I feel very lucky to have spent so much of my life here. Happy Travels.

@StaticCamperVan Discovering the coffee is a wonderful bonus to living here for sure. It's better than the coffees we tried in the LA area. So glad you found it!
1
Lol @ the cougar jokes. I alwaysvfeel safer in the woods than in the city! Good advice.
1
@StaticCamperVan Yes, you are. And you deserve it.
1
I used to do that, but have gotten out of the habit. Thanks for the reminder. I used to try cracking eggs into the pan but ended up using more water to clean the pan. They stick more. And that's more scrubbing too. Another nice video, Scott.
1
It's astounding to see the temp a few miles inland but sometimes even north or south a bit. Seems you are finding good spots.
1
Have you been to Harmony?
1
Winter ocean visits are special because there are so few people, bugs and all that. The water is silver instead of blue, the sounds are different and so on. Gotta love mother nature when you can enjoy it in a bit of quiet.
1
Yeah, boiling water with solar is wonderful. Reducing our negative impact even a tiny bit is lovely. I was gifted a light roast ethiopian from Germany and while not local, is certainly delicious. You are wise to reduce your stuff - it should help you make good decisions on storage space in the new van when you find it. It's just gone 7 am heree on Wednesday and I believe it's coffee time here. Yay for the light solution - you collect mostly nice viewers because you're nice and it's a comfortable channel.
1
What a lovely video!!! A beautiful place, great views, good shopping - perfect. I hope you slept well.
1
Yeah, you cooked that meat thoroughly, it will be fine. Your tacos look great, nicely done. Turns out Vons carries yellow bird serrano sauce. I will pick some up for hubby. Love your carbon steel pan. Right up there alongside cast iron but lighter weight. Good tools last a lifetime. Gotta look for that scrubber!
1
Next time I'm at the roaster, I'll ask about recommended grind size I do know that regular cleaning of the grinder is essential. We don't want old bits in their growing mold or something nastier. So far as actors -- they are just people doing a job - it's just really public. Some are weird, some just do their jobs. Many have provided great entertainment for many of us. The business is rather odd though.
1
Lots of stuff fixed. Fantastic. Yes that seems like a good place to hang out.
1
Good for you for taking time for yourself. When you left that last job to relax for a bit, I cheered because was clear that you weren't happy there. From watching your channel though, it was also clear that you are careful about money & would get another job if you need it. It's been fun to see you exploring & relaxing a bit, even with more frugality. I hope 2022 is a good one for you.
1
Well shoot! I hope both you and your van have a better day tomorrow. We're heading down to Palm Springs for some tests and it's going to be HOT! 100F down there. Urgh Oh well. Was beautiful here today and with a mild wind, I enjoyed the day = did some work on the back yard, finished weeding the front - as much as I'm going to anyway. I hope Oregon turns out to be a good choice for the next few weeks anyway.
1
@StaticCamperVan LOL - it certainly did. We survived and got home to only 90F and rising for the week. Weather is weird.
1
Great review! 👍 We have a jackery & use it for emergencies. You are so right about proprietary brands being a pain. Even if money is no object, storing more cords is a big fat NO for me.
1
It's always nice to 'share a cup of coffee' with you - I just finished my JTCC Mellow Ethiopian. Yeah, I always wonder about folks that send stuff to people who live in tiny spaces. I get wanting to do something nice but trying to turn them into hoarders is not a nice thing to do. I would like to purchase the sticker on your mug; it's a better size than the giant square one I got before. So I'm off to shop and see if I can find it.
1
@StaticCamperVan Oh well. Nice though.
1
I'm having wine. It has been a very "challenging" day & its 6.30pm, so wine went nicely with supper. Coffee in the morning. I had to giggle a bit over the kayak thought process- I keep looking at them but here getting to water is a 2 hour or more trip. Lol. I'll give that a big Nope! Your logic makes sense. You know what's best for you & your van life!
1
Oh I'd wondered where you were. The ONLY thing that would be easier in a hotel is parking. Having to move your van every day or two would be the drawback. You keep some staples so you won't starve and you seem to keep your water, propane, coffee filled up, so you're in pretty good shape. In a room where random strangers have stayed, who knows what you'll be exposed to?? Yes, your own dirt is a known risk. Wise choice. I hope you feel better tomorrow and are able to get some fresher air. Cheers.
1
@StaticCamperVan No worries. Just know that you're always welcome.
1
Yes, so far, I've only been able to locate medium roast. But I'll keep trying.
1
@StaticCamperVan Thank you Scott. Sometimes we do when out to see the kids. I did like Groundwork when we lived in Long Beach.
1
Looks like you got the job done and things still work. I call that a win. Best wishes Brian!
1
I jusy love pelicans. The way theyfly in formation. The eay they dive. So cool. How wonderful to have found a great spot!
1
That's our favorite too! I get it at Lazy Acres & we love it.
1
@Debbie Ellis Oh cool! Hi neighbor! Surely is a terrific place.
1
So as I watched this, very close to the end, I looked down and realized that I'm wearing a shirt I got from your shop and on the back of my laptop is one of your stickers. Then you again mentioned one of my favorite kinds of coffee - organic, Ethiopian, light roast. So I feel as though I hung out with you today. Oh, in case no one answered, the donkey is a type of winch for VERY heavy things - logging is one of the uses mentioned. We were in Palm Springs today and gas was almost $6 but at costco, the price was over 40c a gallon cheaper. Between that, our glasses and a couple of other things, it's worth the membership cost. It's fun to see you up there where you are happiest. I missed the deets on what shoved you out of So Cal but am sorry for whatever it was and wish it hadn't .I do remember it. Every life is suckage here and there and you've certainly experienced your share but you make the best of it.
1
I had to laugh - from the names of your videos, I had yours confused with Brian's from Adventure VanMan! It's a good thing that you upgraded your space and sleeping area. Comfort is key, eh? Best wishes Scott.
1
Great news! You have learned to think things through & that makes trouble shooting more productive.
1
It looked great. I like curry too and tend to use it to clean out my produce drawer; anything left gets thrown in. It must take very thoughtful and careful planning to have the right produce on hand without wasting it - and then to work in such tight space and not find bits of onion behind things or tucked away someplace when you miss cleaning up - I admire your skill at sorting them out. I hope you don't melt in this crazy heat.

Such a pretty town!
1
Interesting. Nature has a great deal to offer us in terms of better health.
1
A plethora of options from which to choose is not the worst thing ever. Hopefully you will hit upon a new routine that better suits you. Cheers for good coffee & reusable cups!
1
@StaticCamperVan Yesterday on the beach we picked up dozens of straws, lids, single use water/side & beer bottles & other plastic rubbish. The plastic imparts a weird flavor to food & drink, plus it's killing marine life. So we avoid it as much as possible too.
1
It's been a weird winter - cold, but when it's freezing, no precip. When there's precip, it's too warm for snow, so my weeds are taking off like I was in the Midwest! Crazy. In Yucca Valley, we have Sue's Natural Food on highway 62 just west of 247 (oldwoman springs road) It's on the north side of the highway. If you ever need water and power while here, don't hesitate to moochdock at our house. I think you're smelling the Creosote bushes. We've grown to love it but yeah. Up here in YV it's usually a few degrees cooler than JT because we're quite a bit higher. Ground work is great coffee.
1
Be careful in Humbolt - there are people who eat pizza with NO MUSHROOMS! Heathens! Sorry, just had to giggle.
1
That is really creative Scott. Well done. We had swamp coolers here when we moved in but when we got the new roof, they disconnected them and frankly for our space, they were rather ineffective. In your space it makes good sense. The quiet fan has t be better too. I'd donate the used one to a charity shop and let someone else sit right next to it.
1
Good to know - thank you. I'd begun to worry about you, as you disappeared. Good news to find that it was YouTube choosing my friends for me. Here you are, hooray.
1
Stunning. You REALLY do have some beautiful back yards! It's pretty up there.
