  12.  @johnstark4723  The drydocks at the Navy Yard are only a 3 miles tow away. They would need to dredge a path to the main channel. Once at the drydocks, they can fix the hull.

Then orders changed and the convoy sent to Australia instead. As for the defense of the Philippines? For each operation, you better want to be in different locations. Air traffic control and spotting is better done aft. The ship handling is better done at a position forward.

Apparently, the island of La Palma in the Canary Islands is at risk of undergoing a large Landslide ; which would cause a tsunami in the Atlantic.
