I don't know who fed you these pipe dreams. But none those regulations are going anywhere.

Ian come on and give Mr. Saive his due. The credit for this design really belongs to him and not Browning. Browning's prototype at the time he died is nothing like the final production pistol.
3
"Live in Let Die." Has a S&W model 29.
3
📖 I thoroughly enjoyed Canfield's World War II weapons book. It was highly detailed. And worth the price.
3
@ftdefiance1 Because Most of the World uses 9mm Para. And that is why like the AK, Hi Powers are found Worldwide wide used by Friends and Foes. Commercially it was made in .30 Luger and later .40 S&W.
3
@jrggrop You don't need a pistol grip to shoot a rifle well.
3
The site of your Eddystone factory is a Walmart shopping center today. 🏭 You used to work across the street.
3
That's ridiculous.
3
The 240 is a evolution of design. It traces it's DNA to the BAR.
3
Next? The bulpup era. Next? We go back to Remington's Electric primer system over a mechanical pin.
3
It serves as a practical replacement for the model 1892.
3
How long Colt hangs on, is a very good question.
3
Same company. The design is a evolution.
3
Well you finally answered that nagging question about John Inglis Hi Powers. "What was the John Inglis Company anyway?"🤔 Now you tell me they made BREN guns. Highly informative day........
3
Change has been long overdue.
3
By that time, Mr. Browning was long gone. The patents were expired.
3
That's not the topic. That's going into the whole post 1935 story.
3
I beg your pardon, but this an American gun manufactured in New Hampshire....
3
If you think about it, has France ever made a gun the world wanted? AMERICA? Tons. GERMANY? Tons. FN of Belgium? Tons. ITALIANS? 500 years worth. RUSSIANS? Duh.... Israel, Yugoslavia, Czechoslovakia, Austria, Swiss, Swedes...... But France?🤔 No money makers come to mind.
3
@Grunt_007 The Garand and Carbine have no common design, history or role. Being both made by Winchester is about it. The M-14 and Ruger are not family. The M-16 rifle and M-4 carbine do have shared DNA and system design.
3
Probably a lot more effective than a Nambu? 😒
3
@ForgottenWeapons everybody's got a soapbox around here.... 🤦🏽♂️
3
Ha ha 😆 I still have kitchen cabinets from 35 years ago.
3
Dieudonné Saive's pistol....😏
3
@bintjbeil7892 what does moscovium have to do with anything?
3
Well not for a lack of trying by Winchester....... Issue one was cost and military downsizing after the Civil War. We demobilized for 30 years. Needing only a small Standing Army to fight the Indian Wars. They decided to issue the Springfield Trapdoor over the Spencer & Winchester rifles. That saved money but gave us a single shot rifle.
3
@betaich At the time the bolt gun was new tech. Mauser and Lee made guns were just entering major use in th he 1890's. Smokless power was aleo new.
3
@Leo___________ The early lever actions helped win many battles. But they had a logistics problem. No common cartridge. To save money and use the surplus of Springfield rifles. They invented the .45-70 Government and 1873 Trapdoor rifle.
3
@loquat4440 Yes, black powder to smokeless was a big change going on. But the 1895, was built to handle those rounds. But Mr. Mauser's bolt won the day long term.
3
@loquat4440 Yes, even Winchester got into the act with the Lee Navy of 1895. It is weird. Prior firearm development took centuries. Yet, in less than 50 years of the Mexican War; Man has Maxim guns...😏
3
@ettorefassina356 Bond never even got to his honeymoon.....
3
Actually, a lot of sites are saying it has nothing to do with donuts.
3
@drewvanduyn7571 M45 A1 Life was pretty short. It won't be missed.
3
The Garand is not a striper clip. The en bloc clip is placed in the rifle action to feed.
3
Wrong.
3
My ET degree has led to a odd resume as well. I feel better now.....😏 Temple University, 1997
3
@RedHuntsman my understanding was the reverse. But, okay.
3
Sigh..... Darn You Tube Karens.....😤
3
I definitely learned something new today. Not being an HK person, I had no idea.
3
You might be thinking of the rifle rather than the lmg?
3
You wouldn't be able to use it from a prone position with magazines that Large.
3
Where would the Browning BLR fit in the Mix? 🤔
3
Cz kinda fills that slot.
3
The box magazine is still a better option.
3
You should have played the Mega Millions.
3
The rifle predates the creation of the Commonwealth in 1926.
3
I believe in the original book, the guy was using a revolver? Thus the reference.
3
Good list.
3
That makes absolutely no sense.
3
You're referring to the hunting rifle. Completely different design.
