  17.  @RC-tv7hi  Maidan is a long story but here you go. Putin for the last 20 odd years has been influencing, coercing and now finally invading ukraine. Trying to create a form of the old USSR. Or a "greater russian world". His state tv propaganda has been transmitting into ethnic russians homes in ukraines border areas for all of that time. No doubt influencing political views as well as creating ethnic division. The nazi stuff especially since 2014. He also had pro russian oligarchs owning ukranian tv media influencing as well during that pre maidan period. Yanukovych was his puppet during all this. During the earlier 2004 "orange revolution"putin was influencing and "poisoning" his opponent yuschenko. Yanukovychs victory was later annulled by the courts as voting corruption was discovered after his win. The rerun election was then won comfortably by yuschenko. Yanukovych then won the next election fairly promising to join the EU. He then cloned putins actions in russia and changed the constitution to become more oppressive. He made judicial changes to jail his main political rival yulia tymoshenko on false charges. The media oligarch was also given a job in his govt and was suppressing opposition media. Then yanukovych went back on his promise to join the EU to create what his master wanted all along. A union with russia. So this triggered another revolution. This time called maidan. Peaceful at first but then yanukovych, no doubt under pressure from putin, sent snipers in to shoot unarmed protesters. 122 died with thousands injured. No way could he carry on after that bloodbath. He fled and parliament reformed the next day and changed the constitution back to its 2006 state. Yulia tymoshenko was released. New elections were planned and held. Petro poroshenko was duly elected. Yanukovychs lavish palace was searched and polling stamps were found casting doubt on his election victory. Proof that this has been putins objective all along can be found by googling petr akopov a pro putin author who wrote a piece for russian state media 3 days after the invasion. It was put up in error and got taken down quickly but was up long enough to be archived. A link to his article "the new world order" is in the spectator piece. It talks about creating a "greater rusian world" of greater russians, belorussians and their so called "little russians" of ukraine. The overall plan was to challenge the west as a true superpower once again.

  18.  @ЭЮЯ-о3к  That would be the revolution of dignity where the ukranian people took to the streets of maidan to protest for the second time at putin cloned puppet yanukovych and his oppressive and corrupt regimes. First in the orange revolution where his alleged victory was annulled due to voting corruption. His poisoned opponent winning the rerun comfortably. When yanukovych was elected 4 years later in 2010 in a close election. He changed the constitution to allow for more oppression and immediately jailed his political opponent yulia tymoshenko. As well as oppressing opposition views. The final straw being to withdraw from a plan to join the EU for an alliance with putin instead. Not surprisingly the people took to the streets as 92|% of them had voted to be independant from russia in 1991. Protests began peacefully but then escalated as police become more brutal. Eventually yanukovych sent in snipers to shoot unarmed demonstrators. 110 died with thousands injured. No way could he survive after that bloodbath. He fled and the rada initiated new elections from which poroshenko was elected. In yanukovychs abandoned palace evidence was found of voting corruption casting doubt on his earlier election victory. As for the supposed "genocide" in donbas over the last 8 years dont you think that the UN monitors present during that time would have noticed this "genocide". Also only 2% voted far right in ukraines last election with no mps elected. Far less than most western countries. Zelenskys party is centrist and poroshenkos to the left. The only nazi style behaviour is coming from putin and his propaganda which has been broadcasting his state tv to the ethnic rusian border areas of ukraine since he came to power. No doubt creating the ethnic division required to bring about his ultimate goal. The reunification of the old USSR into a "greater russian world" so as to challenge the west once again as a true superpower.
