  8. Personally, I'll never understand why anyone would hate our elderly, lovable, and moderate president, but in spite of that the deplorables are protected by the First Amendment. I don't think she crossed the line to the point of getting a call from the Secret Service and Department of Justice. Under a Trump Administration, there would probably be White House interference like what happened to Kathy Griffin, but I doubt Merrick Garland or the Secret Service will consider that a threat against the president.

Also, "White Nationalism" can't be a negative because patriotism and nationalism are considered synonymous and can be used interchangeably. Many on the right believe that it's perfectly acceptable for legislatures in Red States to suppress American Democracy because the US is a "constitutional republic." Somehow being a republic versus a democracy is a conflict.

  19. Fortunately, this virus is treatable and already has a vaccine. It's disfiguring like the AIDS-related skin cancer and affects the same gay community, but Monkey Pox is no where near as deadly. Before treatment, HIV/AIDS was the scariest diseases known to man. Something that cruel and nearly 100% fatal only comes around once in a century. I can't speak for Pakman, but he could mistakenly be under the impression that the Fulton Co., GA special grand jury, which investigated 2020 election interference is the same as the proceeding led by Fani Willis where probable cause for an indictment are determined. You're correct about her not violating any laws, gag orders, or secrecy requirements. It's just unusual to ever hear from a jury foreperson during the pre-indictment phase.

  42. Take a moment to think how extraordinary the events on January 6, 2021, would have been with any other US president, a governor, or even a city mayor. The stable leadership from Mike Pence after the Capitol Breach, and until the Inauguration Day met the bare minimum for anyone in public office. It wasn't heroic. During that time, America needed a "patriotic hero." Pence may have personally been insulted for what happened and the threats against him and his family, but the attack was on America itself and the symbol of democratic government. Pence had the authority to convene the cabinet to invoke the 25th Amendment. Congress could have immediately expedited the impeachment trial to completely remove Trump and bar him from seeking re-election. There was no reason to allow Trump to remain in the White House from January 7, 2021, until the Biden Inauguration and peaceful transition, which Trump didn't even participate in. Mike Pence was effectively the "acting president," while Trump was busy handing out pardons and ordering last minute withdrawals of US forces overseas. There may be people still be some people interested in another miracle that will allow Trump to become president again. I've got nothing against them because they can vote how they please. If some reason that actually happens and Trump is re-elected, it's because Pence, GOP senators, and Merrick Garland allowed Trump to be above the law.

  49. I still believe Trump is much more dangerous. DeSantis doesn't have a cult and wouldn't encourage a civil war or incite his extremist supporters to storm the capitol after losing an election. I don't plan on voting from either of them, but Trump is a fascist that believes in nothing but himself. Ron DeSantis is a normal but very conservative politician that respects democracy and the constitution. If or when, Ron DeSantis loses an election, that will be the end of it. He's not going to encourage an insurrection or steal top-secret documents to share with anyone who'll listen to him.
