The US ISN'T big on it. The REPUBLICAN PARTY are big on suppressing the vote. The Democratic Party are working to help as many people as possible to vote.

I love how you called Reagan a "sort of" actor-president. Yeah, I don't think he was much of an actor, either. 😂
8
Also, ignorance of the law is no excuse. And Twitler clearly has no idea what laws are, let alone what any particular law says.
8
Not a single other country in the entire world indulges in this duplicitous bullshit. They all think we're insane for putting up with it.
8
LOL, not quite the "civil war" we were threatened with, is it?
8
Pity they didn't have the imagination to realize what was going to happen if they decided to have a hissy fit and stay home so the country could elect a fucking monster.
7
Truth, ethics, humanity - what are those, again?
7
Inorite? How do they even find their feet in the morning?
7
Perfect is the enemy of better.
7
Keep in mind that although COVID has killed a lot of Republicans, we have a whole new cohort aging into voting, as we do every year. So it may not be the sure thing you think it is.
7
If he'd left well enough alone, he could have wallowed in his stupid fantasy of wealth until he rotted. But no, he had to reach for the brass ring, and make it inevitable that his whole rotten life would be held up to worldwide scrutiny, and the law get put on his trail.
7
"Indictment seems imminent". Yeah, yeah, yeah. We've been hearing that for YEARS now. Get back to me when he's actually on trial.
7
No, sorry but no. He is not a businessman, never has been. He's a CON man, and he conned them into believing his crap about how their lives are going to be better. The hatred is just the icing on the cake.
7
And his idiot minions will still vote for him.
7
Maybe because the people who would want to move there are not the ones who are running around like spoiled brats refusing to act like adults?
6
Plus legislation to make suing the manufacturer legal. At the moment, they're immune from prosecution.
6
He could but he didn't want to because the fact that she asked told him she wouldn't like what he had to say.
6
I can't believe anyone still argues that stuff about Brooks. Here's the thing about that incident - it hinged completely on the fact that the cop turned to arresting him when he could have just aided him. There was no reason at all to whip out the cuffs. The cop could have said, "Okay, I think you're too intoxicated to be out here, so I'm going to drive you home. Give this officer your keys and he'll follow in your car." Then he should have just done it. The entire horrible thing was utterly unnecessary and could have been easily avoided had the cop just decided to be a decent human being.
6
What you're describing is what Stephen King refers to as a "pushy-pushy", where two guys get chesty with each other. I find it hilarious, myself.
6
Of course some people are going to refuse to vote for that reason. There's already bitching and grumbling because of the convention. It's not at all unthinkable that a raft of progressives will throw a hissy fit and just refuse to vote, like the last time. Americans have grown much too used to the idea that voting is some kind of personal expression instead of the adult consideration of the NATION'S needs, not our own. But the responsibility that goes with our right to vote is out of fashion - these days it's all about ME ME ME, so if you don't like the candidate, it's fine to just shirk your civic duty! You can't expect an attitude like that to just POOF disappear into thin air, sad to say.
5
No, I don't. And I'm not gonna.
5
Our Shining Knight. Go Gavin!!
5
Any ideology that says "if you're poor, it's your fault, so go die in the street" is never going to have any moral ascendancy. It's just straight up evil.
5
If not by then, then definitely by the fall. We'll be back to lockdowns by next year.
5
@themaskedman221 Ooo, somebody's feeling threatened. Best loosen that grip, Sparky. Gangrene down there is no fun at all.
5
They were more interested in their own precious opinions than on the fate of this country.
5
"The Future of the Universe" Um, you might want to rethink that word, there. The future of the universe is probably a heat death in about 10 billion years, and we will have absolutely nothing to do with it. Maybe a humbler term would suit the subject better. :D
5
How nice that you FINALLY figured things out.
5
I'm convinced it won't work and we're going to end up with that asshole destroying the country. Look at it this way: how many times in history can you point to when there was a dictator ALREADY IN POWER, and the people were able to get rid of him by voting? I'd be very interested to hear about that, because I certainly couldn't find an instance of it working.
5
HEY!!! We resent that!!! - toads all over the world
5
The Republicans have openly said they don't want democracy.
5
I think the right word would be "unintentionally" rather than "accidentally".
5
Pfft. You're never going to get honesty or responsibility out of that evil blobfish.
5
Really? Gee, I wonder what the Native peoples would say about YOU guys moving into THEIR country? Probably much the same thing, I shouldn't wonder.
4
No, it's not. It's a childish, selfish act pretty much guaranteed to make people focus on your crime, and NOT on anything you might be saying. I'm certainly not interested in their issues. I'm only horrified by their sick nonsense. BE ADULTS and persuade people instead of having the equivalent of screaming tantrums and beating your heels on the floor.
4
I'm amused at your assumption that Sanders would do any better.
4
Flouncing is a required skill among rightwing snowflakes, dont'cha know.
4
It's a dark time.
4
Boycotting is "I'm not going to buy your products". Cancel culture is "I'm going to organize an online harassment campaign and get your job taken away and your life threatened and your name ruined for decades if not life."
4
And the point just zooms over your head.
4
Years? Try decades. We're going to be dodging the mines he's planted fifty years from now.
4
Maybe this time the judgment will actually hurt him. That $50M is deceptive, since Texas law limits the actual judgment to less than $1M.
4
@itsallgoodman4108 Has nothing to do with their cut, dude. If they're required to insure people, you can be DAM sure they'll fall over backward to FORCE manufacturers to include safety features, plus require EVERY owner to have a locked case, never leave the gun out, etc., etc., etc., at risk of LOSING THEIR INSURANCE.
4
Hey, he's more than welcome to send me money, though if he thinks some cash will buy my vote, he's got another think coming. I'll happily take the money - and then vote for Biden.
4
And there's the problem of customers who don't have smartphones. Yeah, they exist. You're basically locking out potential customers when you insist on making ordering contingent on having a specific technology.
4
The Republicans are now OPENLY saying they don't want democracy.
4
"Well, Mr. President, that's not true. There was a time when African American unemployment was at zero, but I don't think you want to brag about that era."
4
LOL. Fanbois are always good for a laugh. 🤣
4
I am sick to DEATH of constantly hearing the word "families" in government proposals. It's a blatant discrimination against people who choose not to reproduce, or who have decided to put off doing so. It leaves us out in the cold, as if there weren't more and more people every year deciding that having children is not for them. STOP WITH THE "FAMILIES". THESE PLANS SHOULD BE FOR ALL AMERICANS.
4
I find it weird how many commenters here are assuming we think it's easy to move to Canada. Just because you'd like to do something doesn't mean you think you can just up and do it, for gods' sakes.
