Average global temp 14 degrees, they are talking 30 as a global average morning and night and because we are adding more carbon that the earth can absorb, the temp increase's and that ice melts. Nothing to do with carbon per se, other than adding more of it traps more heat. If you can't understand basic physics you shouldn't have an opinion on something where the last time it happened it supposedly wiped out 86% of all species, the issue is we don't know if we will be the first 10%.

Please I implore you, the biggest thing big tobacco could do to slow down the decline in sale was to create doubt, don't do big oils job as they took over the same tactics. At the very least educate people but the ranges we are looking at, and you are right plants loved it in the time of the dinosaur, but it wasn't cold and that was 66 million years ago, people are worried we are going there much much sooner and that nothing will adapt so it's more about the risk you are taking with these sort of words, just for people to believe you, are you able to be five percent wrong, because if what is said that is around the corner and already here, then I would say you should look at the data because you are steering yourself and others the wrong way.

Fairly simple physics really, nothing to do about plant food, more about the speed we will go to reach the temps we were at 66 million years ago, and adaption will be incredibly hard, sorry impossible for a lot of species.

You cannot add energy to a system without it meaning something and because there is always heat coming in it must leave again or like taxes are the heat leaving and money, the sun, is always putting energy in. If something like a layer of carbon can trap radiant heat then the ice we leave out in the open to cool us down will melt.

I understand you might be American but stop drinking the cool aid, the invasions around the world are all US backed and the military complex is not doing this altruistically.

Greenland is to keep China out of the Artic shipping routes, considering the US did a test and found Greenland was ice free once and they called it Camp Century, maybe they know something we don't as far as how quick the melting will take.

@gj55223 Repayment of the loan makes the money not exist anymore, all money is debt and one side or another of their ledger. If I give you a pair of scissors and you give me a pair back no profit was made even if it costs me four cents to make that pair.

@3nertia Everything is made up but we still live within rules, of its creation, how it is removed, what we have to do to get it and why we need it to be able to live. It is a great system under growth like the world had 400% the last 80 years and will be luck to be 10% of that the next 80 so another way will have to be found. I prefer need over profit.

I was talking about money creation, you know all money is based on debt I guess so that was what the comment was regarding debt meant and to live we must hold debt, as all money is debt. @3nertia We could agree but because capitalism means the means of production is in private hands, meaning if you want something made and will pay for it then it can be made no matter what it is or how much pollution it emits. ANy other system where the government directs what gets produced is of course different but the thing that we must separate is the debt based system and capitalism as they are different. I agree being able to make just about anything we can, just because, without any direction is a problem but I think any other system that is based on debt, without direction is where it would fail too. Point being, unless we can agree on a direction, money whether it be bitcoin, gold or fiat, we will still end up with the same problems. Not the best description, regarding what we are talking about but the thing we must get people to understand, is the debt based system we spend our lives around. Debt they create at a cost of four cents per hundred dollars.

You disagree about educating people about the debt based system, you disagree what capitalism is, you disagree other systems wouldn't find themselves in the same situation.. etc. My whole point is govts and banks are supposed to be negative zero, we always try to stay above it, that all this debt that is inputted has an interest rate attached therefore does not hold value. Not holding value for the thing we spend our lives around is where fault in the system, for us, lies.

The only way to live in todays world is to hold debt, money that is created at a cost of four cents per hundred dollars. We use oil other people have been removed from living over, we have an education system run by people we don't trust and we spend our entire lives controlled by the system of debt that enslaves us, as has happened for centuries if not thousands of years, the planet is being ruined by these people and we still do what they say. When is too far and when is this turn?

I understand what you are saying in managing debt levels and in a way taxes do pay for current spending because if there were no taxes being collected they wouldn't need to borrow and if they did it would be a lot less but what do you mean money to pay back current borrowings, as soon as the debt in incurred it could be given back, the debt exists at the same time the money does. The govt doesn't have that debt, as all money is debt, all money in our pockets is debt they are the go between us and the bank that wants to earn interest.

@garethhumphries4039 It's not debt interest alone, it's the amount of money that is increasing and we put this debt into property and other silly things. The issue being new money always needs to be entered into because of the interest.

@MattyB1970 Electricity is 17% of total energy in UK, under 20% for most modern countries so 6.29% of total energy. We and politicians believed net zero is electricity, but it is supposed to be energy. Green energy transition or efficiency is supposed to be a saving of energy, friends got solar panels on a rate that pays them, with the money saved bought a motorhome to drive around the country. Total energy has only increased and it is supposed to increase even more but don't get fooled that net zero is electricity. Electricity being 20% of energy, we could have 100% green electricity and still have 80% of the problem to fix. If we want plastic or asphalt then we still use oil and coal, asphalt being the waste of each barrel which is why oil rich countries that refine have urban sprawl and plastic production means diesel is the waste product, petrol, everything we burn, so we can get synthetic rubber coated wire. Be alright if everybody was prepared to live with just electricity.

@alecdurbaville6355 Yes, that is what a prediction is, predict what will happen based on information they have. They know unimaginable change is coming, they know at what temperature it will take to melt the permafrost, something that holds four times the carbon humanity has emitted in all of history. and they know the adaption that took millions of years happening in a couple of thousand of years means a lot of species will not survive. If people took the reality of what is coming seriously, they would stop work en masse tomorrow and demand their govts cease all unnecessary consumption, if people won't do this by choice then the only tool available is poverty.

All national debt as soon as it is spent is what we call money, we agree on that? All money in the world is created by debt because we are a debt based society? All debt is owed to the commercial or central bank and all debt is money and if there were no debt there would be no money in the world? If so what don't you agree with?
