Now they're giving taxpayer money to developers for more unaffordable housing. 676,000 empty houses in England alone - the problem is that people need affordable housing!

  5. I stand up for Ukraine. I also accept that NATO pressure on Ukraine to join and expansionist policies made the invasion an inevitability, many pundits predicted this over a decade ago. We all know Putin is a megalomanic and was always going to respond to NATO troop movements and efforts to turn Ukraine into a NATO outpost. Let's be honest about this, we bare some responsibility for the suffering of the Ukrainian people...

  31. Such a shame that tragedies like this can be avoided. Pity all houses aren't fully insulated and kept up to code. Every time corporations, landlords and Tories cut corners to save money, it's always the public who pay the consequences and often the highest price... Not to mention it's a false economy as doing things right the first time saves money in the long run. Energy bills, emergency ward visits due to damp causing mould, pensioners dying of hypothermia. We need safe social housing run by authorities and not mercenary landlords.

  39. Any PM should be sacked the first time they try to avoid answering a question that is relevant to the integrity of their leadership or party. They are an employee of the electorate (I know the system is rigged and democracy has never existed). However, if they want to play a pantomime for the public then let's have some accountability.

  42. Stand with the nurses. A large percentage of the budget now goes to for-profit organisations and the admin and management required for that outsourcing. We had a much better service before the Tories took over in 2010 and things have degraded since then considerably. Pay nurses what they deserve as the could get 1/3rd extra wages by simply moving to Australia to do the same job.

We have a government of elitist crooks and they seem impervious to the rules they lay down for the rest of us. Impervious to the harm they cause in society.
