  1.  @jasonwilson3057  We do not have the image of our selves from 1865 until 1965. But again the collaboration that got us from one point to the other was great. I concider the 60s our bridge over troubuled waters. We started out with that stroung commitment to each other. But 1963 they removed God from our daliy activities. In 1970 they started a war on drugs. In1983 they planted the streets with drugs and guns. Now the 70 America moved its community, schools, and economic focal point out of the city creating today's inner cities. We may have received our civil rights in this country but all our economic opportunities have been striped down leaving us to fight with each other the same way they once fought with each other. There is no where to run from self but you can escape the missing UNITY that once kept us and just live a solitary happy life since it is so short.

  4.  @floridaman6982  Take this if Candace strictly talks about "the left" then what is everyone else doing? If black people were Republicans for 100 years then how has our progress been sporadic? What is victim mentality at what point has anything made us mental victims? We have been a forgiving culture from 1865 until 1965 and beyond. Does our history make us a victim? Her biased narratives always convect the left and I guess give the GOP a get-out-of-jail-free card.

Since I do not subscribe to the use of "the left" I will refer to them as democrats. Economic growth has been the main agenda of our last two democratic presidents. Now incentivizing the mother in 1965 with a check and that practice still holding strong here in 2022 is only for finding a talking point and is not factual. LBJ's great society act was not legislation for black people or black women and more white Americans used the legislation than blacks. In fact, the welfare program started in 1934 as a solution to a four-year-long issue. Poverty was the story of the decade and felt by everyone. It would be nice if you would just look at footage from that time. The problem was created by and ignored with the support of the republicans. After four years of nothing FDR came in with a "new deal" it supported all these hungry, homeless, and naked Americans. FDR was elected four times for a reason. However, his efforts did not aid everyone and in 1965 LBJ continued the war on poverty. FDR's war on poverty gave people a hand up but LBJ's war on poverty became a handout. Why? The republicans repeated the same market manipulation of 1929 again in 2008 and again the democratic stepped in to save our conservative free market. Now that "no man" is in the house, well he is in prison, he is on the books, and now he can not vote. But if LBJ"s incentive was to destroy the black family then he had only two years to do it and the republicans had twenty of the twenty-four years before Clinton to change course. Nixion cut parts of LBJ's policies and Reagan killed the rest. Every economic challenge up until 2021 was created by the republicans Every economic success was the result of the democrats. Trump actively changed the narrative with great success. So I can not defend how you have assimilated all your information but up until 2016, it was we the people. Now post Obama it is the left.

I am not going to fall victim to all the manufactured rhetoric being fed to us through all MEDIA outlets. Race, Gender, conservative, liberal, rich, poor, educated uneducated Trump, Biden, republican, democrat, red state, blue state, etc. If we lack the wisdom to stop beating each other up over so much BS and utilize the authority given to be the best we can be we will die leaving behind what you see. BTW Candace loves the attention that is how she earns a living.

  8.  @travisadams6279  After the civil war black got into politics as republicans but no women and in many areas no blacks could vote. Welfare started in 1934 as relief for people during the depression. LBJs great society act was successful for many and a failure for others but should no longer be an excuse in 2022. People vote on how things have or would affect them personally. After over 100 years yes things all switched and the mindset of the American people switched as well. But if over half of the white population is still stuck in 1929's poverty along with a large proportion of black and other American groups something else is wrong. wouldn't you say?

The ADC and the 1964 welfare had similar expectations. There has to be more to it and if Reagan, Bush, and Clinton all cut parts of the programs several times and sixty years later we still have problems all I would like to know is How and Why?

The idea that the same program used by the American people having a devistating effect on the black family makes no sence and I just can not subscribe too. that The problems with the American people still go back to 1929's depression.

LBJ may have started it with the Great Society Act But Nixion took part of the act away to start the war on drugs and facilitated mass incarceration. If you would look at the UNITY that black people had when they left the plantations the kind of cohesiveness that built strong economic communities all over the country and if you look at the kind of UNITY that was used not to ride a bus. If you would look at the kind of UNITY that lasted well into the 60s. then look at where we were and what we went to starting in the 70s with the war on drugs you could also see some correlation. Besides how can the same legislation used by all poor Americans only affect blacks in a negative way? I do not mean to irritate you for having a different pro prospective

Social programs started in 1934-35 with FDR and pulled Americans out of a deep state of poverty. No, I do not doubt the intellect of Thomas Sowell but there is more than one economic theory. There are so many PROS and CONS related to the subject and you can not pull out one and leave the other in the file cabinet. I do detect your irritation and I promise I did not mean to cause frustration because of an added view.

But most of her narrative substracts any element that may put a little accountability to the republicans because she wants the image of being conservative in America to be positive. So she pushes all the shortcomings of black people as democrat-motivated. Nixion took part of LBJ"s act and started a war on drugs. Reagan ended the rest of LBJs legislation and with the use of the CIA created this crack epidemic in the poor communities. She talks about her Grand Dad but Grandma Lessie lived through the riots of 1921 in Tulsa and everything Candace says we should take personal responsibility to be we were. One of the richest black communities in America but not the only one was burned to the ground. I call the 1960s as our bridge over troubled waters. Sadly we gained our civil rights but all economic opportunities shifted. Their reality is there are two sides to our coins but the only truth is what you can add up.

The real supporters of the black community John and Bobby were killed. Trump was just like the rest handing out chitterlings at the back door and running around to the front to tell the world what he did amounting to nothing. Tulsa did grow out of a way of no way and that is not the issue it is the total destruction of one of many economically strong communities. They did exactly what America says we should be doing today. Most successfully sound white communities in the united states started with the New Deal and FDR's focus on the humanitarian issues inside the country. The Democrats elected FDR to four terms for a reason. Even when the economy jumped back to the greatest in the world behind supporting WW2 the returning military was given support for the GI bill to aid in housing and education. FDR's hand up became LBJ's hand out. and blacks beat up all the time behind it. The war on poverty has never been won and the real image of poor people is not black.

If you want to understand what real conservativism is, look at the communities built around the country like the most notable Greenwood district of Tulsa Ok. If you want to see what real conservative value means look at people in the images of fire hoses and dog bite vs the concept of being a patriot.

If you would follow the black population from leaving the plantation until the end of the civil rights movement you will find a common denominator, UNITY. That was disrupted during the 70s and the 20 of 24 years that the right was in power is the same time the destruction of our UNITY happened which included the family. Since "big corporations" money is where you will find support for BLM these conservatives can not be from the left. I can not isolate the real interest to the left. Each time the country witnessed the UNITY of the black community an attack on their conservative responsibility took place. I am not going to join in on the manufactured rhetoric that helps keep us from our core truth "we are one". How is it that you Candace were born in the late 80s and the time of Brown vs the Board of Education and the Civil Rights movement Both showed how the then black conservatives fought for a quality of life for their children and themselves. The unity required carried them all the way from 1865 when they embraced their freedom until the 60s. We still have many HBCUs that started shortly after becoming free. UNITY is the biggest disruption in the black community. Those schools in Baltimore used to teach little white boys and girls. The UNITY required to fix them has been replaced by drugs, guns, reduced wealth, and personal responsibility. Out of all the negative found in the inner cities, we still find great achievements. But the UNITY needed to fix issues is lost in the gossip and rhetoric as we use to point the issues out, but we no longer have the same kind of UNITY that took former slaves to develop communities like "black Wall Street". Try to vacillate over that!
