  13. Both Yamato and Musashi were destroyed by a combination of torpedos bombs. Aircraft and submarines were used in part because they were what was available and the other part was because it was easier. Also, if Yamato was so fierce, why did it get the nickname of hotel Yamato? American battleships were all over, constantly looking for a fight against Japanese battleships, but they really only got it with the Battle of Surigao Strait.

I’m sure dumb luck or an exceptional pilot could shoot down a few, but not nearly the slaughter Vano thinks. No one is talking about hundreds, just dozens, and the US was producing enough weapons grade uranium and plutonium to make that many.

  38.  @lirex3248  the DF-17 isn’t 20 times faster than ballistic missiles or ballistic-missile defenses. The DF-17 is basically just a steerable upper stage of a medium range ballistic missile. Also, it doesn’t have the range to make it to the US.

  39.  @lirex3248  DF-41 is just a regular ICBM. The US has a number of defense systems to intercept them: THAAD, AEGIS, GMD, and Patriot pack 3. Also, DF-17 isn’t powerful enough to destroy a base. At best it can destroy a building.

  40.  @lirex3248  the US invented MIRVs back in the 1960s. The Trident missile can carry up to 12 MIRVs. The DF-41 is a normal ICBM.
