@perwestermark8920 if I’m so wrong, show me how I’m wrong; don’t use logical fallacies (specifically argument from authority). Knowledge is demonstrated, not asserted.
1
@perwestermark8920 I agree, but Lemon asserted we know the cause by only observing the effect. If we can tell the cause by the effect, then there is only one possible cause, which is what I was pointing out as wrong in lemon’s logic.

@onradioactivewaves automatic guns have a theoretical maximum fire rate that’s calculated just on what the mechanism can do and real world fire rate, which is calculated with barrel heating, changing mag., etc.. Elon always gives his estimate of the theoretical rate. Some of those estimates are wildly off, and others are actually pretty accurate. The one thing that’s certain is that he’s going to push the boundaries

@perwestermark8920 put the hate boner away. No one wants to see it. You’re claims are also rather lacking in specifics. In 1901 a world class physicist said powered flight was impossible. Lots of smart people proclaim things impossible without analyzing something from the first principles. Getting to orbital speeds, traveling a partial orbit, and reentry is well within human tolerance. The Space shuttle’s transoceanic abort mode was basically what SpaceX is planning on doing.

@perwestermark8920 Starship isn’t a ICBM. You’re basically saying a minivan is impossible because race-cars are something. Humans are capable of with standing the 3 Gs Starship is well within human tolerance. Rollercoasters have higher Gs. SpaceX has some of the best engineers in the world; go tell them what engineers do and don’t know. Finally, cut down on the bloviating. The couple of things I could respond to were inside mounts of waffle, as the Brits would say.

You’re get the order wrong. The point is to create a backup before something bad happens.

No, Tf00t is JJ Jameson to Elon’s Spiderman.

Yeah, how many successful launches has Boeing done with their Starliner?
1
@tomservo5007 a long history badly under preforming. taking years longer than they were supposed to with massive cost over runs.
1
@tomservo5007 space is hard isn’t an excuse of the sheer ineptitude Boeing has shown. They had dozens of potentially lethal programming errors on Starliner. It’s so bad the guy scheduled to ride in it retired rather than face that death trap. They have a storied history, but they sure as hell aren’t living up to that legacy. That goes for all the other Old-space heavy weights too.

Tfoot doesn’t care if he doesn’t get to hate Elon Musk.

They’ve got the hard part, AI, working.
1
@martinbernath I’m not saying the hardware is going to be simple, but it’s definitely the easier of the two tasks because many of the problems have been solved. Boston Dynamics has some of the best hardware and the best movement algorithms. However, the planning and learning is done by humans, and that’s where Tesla’s AI is revolutionary
1
You’re talking about doing things that require humans before sending humans. That’s not going to work.
