@grzlbr ad hominems are really convincing arguments. 100% serious.
1
@grzlbr go home; you’re drunk.
1
Yeah, Tf00t is a smart guy, but his terrible understanding of economics is holding back his evaluations.
1
His goal isn’t just to make money, and anti-trust laws are a thing.
1
@andrewharrison1194 Elon’s goal is eudaemonia (roughly human flourishing). Money is just the means to get there. Also, anti-trust laws would break of the company for trying something like you suggested.
1
Tesla’s are the safest cars on the road, so stop lying
1
How is solar roadways trying to glom on any bit of credibility to a reflection on the other people?
1
No humans on Mars = no terraforming. We would like to get started as soon as possible, so as many generations can enjoy a terraformed Mars as possible.
1
Your lawyer files the paperwork like any other law suit then you hire someone to serve them in their country. They then hire council in the jurisdiction the case is being held in. It’s not really much different from suing a person in a different state.
1
Working hard is just terrible, and it’s just so dictatorial that employees have to answer to their boss
1
@aruspice you sound like a haughty “professional” too good to move boxes and other simple stuff.
1
People do longer stays on subs all the time.
1
@hermitoldguy6312 Looks like you’re so old you’ve entered your second childhood with such great arguments as “nugh uhh you are” How can I possibly respond to that?
1
You probably think you’re going to invent something better than the wheel
1
@conradtm and you miss my point completely. Some times things are how they are because that’s the best way.
1
@conradtm there absolutely nothing unscientific about saying something needs to be supported by something and that reducing the resistance by making the contact point roll is a good thing.
1
Those are all arbitrary goal posts that have zero to do with our technical abilities.
1
Setting arbitrary goals is not more reasonable. There is no good reason to say we can only do something after we’ve long had the physical and financial ability.
1
The F-150 lighting and Rivian RT1 are just as heavy
1
@BrentWalker999 So the it won’t sell in the EU is a mute point. Happy we’ve come to a common understanding
1
Say you have a 200 billion dollar house but keep your job. Can you just pay a billion dollars for your electric bill.
1
@labibbidabibbadum the point is selling off your assets to fund them is idiotic. These aren’t vanity projects; they’re businesses.
1
@labibbidabibbadum when is a contract for work a subsidy? Contracted work is what a business is supposed to survive off of. You sound as economically illiterate as the socialists.
1
@labibbidabibbadum you start off talking about NASA contracts. Then you jump to SolarCity, which wasn’t part of Tesla when they took the subsidies. Don’t get me wrong betting on solar is stupid, and his personal life is a mess. You just hate the man for your own irrational reasons.
1
@labibbidabibbadum I don’t particularly disagree with you, but you’re anger is directed at someone who hasn’t done what you’re angry about.
1
And when are you going to admit you’re full of shit after that doesn’t happen? When he’s retired on Mars?
1
If you understand physics so much better, go build a reusable rocket. I’m sure it will be better in every way.
1
@shanewilson7994 now you’re just confusing Elon for Jeff Bezos and BO.
1
@shanewilson7994 the results clearly prove otherwise, but hey, the creationists are happy to have you in lala land.
1
@shanewilson7994 the reusable rockets SpaceX are flying. The hundreds of thousands of cars Tesla delivers each quarter.
1
@shanewilson7994 your willful ignorance is terrifying. Elon is heavily involved in the engineering. The whole reason he started SpaceX was because of the massive disparity between the cost of a rocket and material costs. No body came to his with some design asking for money. Moreover, there’s never been an orbital rocket that has a reusable booster.
1
@shanewilson7994 nothing is new then. Ferdinand Porsche invented the car, so Ford’d Model T wasn’t different or important.
1
@shanewilson7994 how did I miss represent you?
1
@Marmocet microwaves heat asymmetric molecules there are plenty of asymmetric molecules in the air.
1
Yeah, hundreds of thousands of cars and hundreds of rocket launches with dozens being reused rockets is a scam.
1
@Stein Mauer you know that steam engines and railroads both existed long before the first steam train, right? You don’t have to invent fundamentally new technology to make a massive breakthrough in technology.
1
@Stein Mauer Tesla is the only company working on a general solution to autonomous driving. To that end, they’re the only ones working in vector space, like animals (including humans) do. Teslas are actually calculating how they think the world around them will be and planning accordingly. All other autonomous cars work in image space and just reacting to the environment around them, while driving along their preset routes. Machine learning is a technique, so of course other companies are going to be using it.
1
@primus711 “some of those demos looked controlled by a person in vr” that’s because it’s a robot (computer representation of the world like with VR) working in vector space (how animals navigate the world).
1
@primus711 a vector is a line segment with both direction and magnitude. One of the things I remember from Calculus in high school. Although, you might want to start with Vector from Despicable Me.
1
@primus711 that’s a line segment. A vector has magnitude and direction. When graphed, a vector is represented as a arrow with the length indicating the magnitude and the plot indicating direction.
1
By the end of the year, SpaceX will have done something only nations have: sent humans into space. They’ve also done it for a fraction of the cost, in the same time, and made most of the rocket reusable. SpaceX is something special.
1
Don’t bother. Tf00t doesn’t understand economics.
1
No, he can’t. He doesn’t have billions in the bank. I doubt he has million.
1
@lohphat to pay taxes that are being hiked up on him.
1
@onradioactivewaves y’all are literally saying that a man who stumbles over over words are conmen because of it
1
@perwestermark8920 lemon is clearly talking out of a places of ignorance to anyone with even a tiny bit of training on public speaking I know a little about public speaking, and unless you’re a really strong public speaker, problems like stammering happen when you’re not on script. Lemon is basically the equivalent of a flat earther of public speaking.
1
@onradioactivewaves if liar stammer, then stammering is therefore a sign of liar. At best this assertion is poor post hoc reasoning
1
@perwestermark8920 logic, like math, has to be able to be run in reverse. Lemon is asserting that Musk is A and that A is caused by B. If we work it backwards, A is a sign of B because B caused A.
1
@aucunrespect9598 relevant to these comments, basic logic and basic public speaking skills.
1
@perwestermark8920 with the nonsensical crap people from universities are coming up with nowadays, the logic classes don’t seem to be very good.
