@English_Dawn EU is clueless.
1
Is this a Verdun situation?
1
@ianhamilton3113 Yes but it would have been worth a bob or two as scrap metal.
1
Two fingers.
1
Net Zero is not about nitrogen compounds.
1
Genuinely free trade (no EU style free trade), plus a Swiss style arrangement, should sort this out. If people want more local government, they should be allowed to have it. But it means no taxes on wages, goods and services.
1
The Customs Union is part of the trouble. It is a protection racket. You should get a proper job.
1
Please hold to the proper definition of inflation: undue increase in the supply of money. Money supply has been increasing since QE was introduced in 2008. Price increases are an effect of inflation. TLDR should be informing its audience, not propagating misleading ideas.
1
Anti Israel is code for antisemitism when much worse things all over the world are ignored. None of this would have happened if 7 October had not happened. The people of Gaza voted for what they got.
1
@blablup1214 Don't buy the products if you have doubts. That includes a lot of ready meals and stuff with too much salt, sugar and artificial sweeteners.
1
@alm9322 It isn't free trade in the EU. VAT at >15% and a trade barrier against the 165 countries not in the EU. Fee trade area would be a better description.
1
I thought the Russians were getting thrashed in Ukraine.
1
The EU economic are needs to be reformed from the ground up. The policies are ruinous.
1
Who pays for the welfare for landowners?
1
The CAP is just a landowners' protection racket.
1
Germany armed up. What could possibly go wrong?
1
They are not sanctions. It's a boycott. When people start to freeze and go hungry as a consequence, the question is will governments in the west survive, including the EU?
1
I would agree if the EU was not determined to foist dysfunctional trade and economic policies on its member countries.
1
EU countries have taxed their own industries to death. Their politicians can't see the damages they cause and blame others. Dumping is a benefit to those who buy the goods. The EU has been one of the leading dumpers. "Green" cars are anything but. That is another story.
1
Do you buy armour by mail order?
1
It's win-win. It gets rid of a rubbish US company and upsets millions of people in the EU at the same time.
1
Who elected the EU? Pots. Kettles. I wish they would throw us out as the riots continue here.
1
Nice pickings for US military-industrial complex.
1
The EU is a slow motion crash. Doomed.
1
@trytellingthetruth.2068 Your comment contradicts the narrative we are meant to believe.
1
@onionpie52 In a democratic country the connection between what people choose and what their politicians decide they should have is closer than in a dictatorship but it is still tenuous. Look at the way covid was handled in most democratic countries. Populations can be and are manipulated, and lack information needed to make decisions. The current debate in Sweden about NATO is a case in point. The structure of the EU is another. The Commission is an example of second hand democracy. The last two US presidents cannot possibly have been what most people would have wanted. Who selects the candidates? In the UK the most important decisions are fixed up by the Oxbridge LSE network, which also manages the schools, what young people are taught, the media and public opinion.

These divisions go back 1000 years. For most of the time the Serbians were the oppressed group, mostly by the Muslim Turks, and they have not forgotten. They were the victims of genocide during the Second World War, that time by the Catholic Croats. What happened in the 1990s was an attempt at payback. It is a long history of tit for tat.
1
Massive EU financial resources to be corruptly siphoned off.
1
Sections are meant to prevent goods from reaching an enemy, unless they are EU sanctions which are a self imposed blockade.
1
Why is this a surprise? The west, through NATO and the EU, have made no real attempt to normalise trade and other relationships since the break up of the USSR. Putin has also become a standard bearer for opponents of woke values and multi culturalism.
1
Go on then, get out there and sign yourself up.
1
Serbians did not appreciate being bombed by NATO.
1
The Russians have not exactly covered themselves with glory but the Ukrainians are not going to win against the odds. The two sides should stop the fighting and negotiate. They will be forced to in the end. Ukraine's friends are doing them no favours by encouraging them to fight on to the bitter end.
1
@ChucksSEADnDEAD The Ukrainians will get squashed in the end. It's weird because Russia and Ukraine were on good terms until 2014 and the EU poked its nose in. Ordinary Ukrainians and Russians are the victims of western power games.
1
Shortage of leccy no problem. Just get the steam locomotives out to run the railways.
1
Putin could offer to hand back the stolen land.
1
Ukraine and Russia can choose to live together or die together.
1
More speculation. The Russians are doing quite nicely grinding the poor Ukrainians to pulp while Zelensky is feeding his countrymen into the meat mincer. A million Ukrainians killed or crippled for live so far.
1
@SimplyVanis EU gravy train.
1
@gnrseanra9070 Dunning Kruger site
1
@gnrseanra9070 Banned They are scared to let us see it.
1
Convenient, but disastrous as an economic policy though. Make the most of them, they are on borrowed time.
1
Scottish independence will bring ruin on Scotland. NI will cost the Republic big bucks.
1
They'll be in Moscow by Christmas.
1
@DennisTheInternationalMenace Where would you find one of those? You vote for one thing and the politicians do what they anyway. Half the people obviously don't have a clue what they are voting for. Otherwise they would never support parties who make empty promises.
1
@DennisTheInternationalMenace Most people don't pay taxes. It's a giant confidence trick. The biggest single taxpayer here in Sweden is the government. It hands out billions which people pay back in tax.
1
@DennisTheInternationalMenace Mislead people, listen to the people and ignore them.
1
The biggest threat to NATO countries is the incompetence of their own governments. We have lurched from one economic crisis to another since 1945. Conflicts with China and Russia are an essential distraction from things like chronic economic problems, housing shortages and crumbling infrastructure and waste.
1
EU present trade and economic policies would be very bad for Ukraine. What would be the point?
1
EU leaders are utterly clueless. The EU countries are bleeding their economies with VAT, the Euro, the CAP and tariffs and quotas on imports. VAT fraud is massive - 34% in Romania. That is on top of the damage done by countries' own tax systems. Scholtz sounds like Hister Lite. Joining an outfit like he suggests would be ruinous. Hopefully the EU was be no more sooner rather than later.
