I also heard that the Devil was seen at Sears buying a new heater and some winter clothes. Apparently it snowed in his neighborhood this morning.

Australian here - form an outside perspective that is the BEST one line description of the GOP's decline in reality.

Translation: I am so stupid I also need to study before taking a prostate exam.

I listened to Sam Harris's podcast here on YT about what he called the "moral ambiguity" question of Hamas, Islam and the Palestinian issue. He kept saying there is NO moral ambiguity that what Hamas did and by it extended that to Islam in general and specifically the Palestinians. 1) There is NO doubt what Hamas did on October 7th was disgusting and the perpetrators and financial supporters of those attacks need to be held accountable. 2) Sam Harris never mentioned in that podcast that he himself is of Jewish descent during that podcast. 3) Sam Harris did not at any stage even discuss the acts of Israel or the Jewish settler movement with respect to his standard of the limits of "moral ambiguity." 4) Sam Harris has not since that podcast (as far as I know) discussed the slaughter of 11,000 Palestinian children in terms of what he defines as "moral ambiguity."

Buddy I'm Australian and went to college in America in the late 80s. I have to explain this to Australians ALL THE TIME. I really like America and American culture - college sport, cheerleaders and NASCAR are 3 of my favorite things. My frat brothers included a pack who were pre-law and they loved bouncing my skull off the wall with discussions on the constitution because I had a different perspective. I did engineering I used to hate it but thanks to Trump and these crazies its now useful background material. You'd be amazed how many times in recent years I have found my self defending the US Constitution and explaining that its actually better than ours which contains mountains of crap we inherited from the British. I don't lose any arguments either and that's for one fundamental reason ANY constitution can be undermined if people sit back and let it happen. America for way too long has sat back and let the crazies like the NRA, Fox Media and others undermine it. I think the Founding Fathers were incredibly brilliant in what they did. They just never anticipated that people like Trump, the NRA, Dick Cheney, Carl Rove, Mitch McConnell and others would do what they have done. Maybe they thought they had enough checks and balances to prevent it.

By chance did any of you see the Tucker Carlson response to Rutger Bergman calling him and the rest millionaires paid for by billionaires? From what I have heard most of the Fox main presenters are on millions per year. Specifically I can't say how much any of them are on because I don't have access to their contracts or the details but I have heard people like Brian Kilmeade and Tucker Carlson get around $5,000,000 a year. I think Kyle has mentioned this several times.

@joeishmael9217 Look in the list I put a link to one of Rick Rielly's book talks.

EVERYONE GO LOOK AT HIS BIO https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Donald_Trump_Jr.#Early_life You can consider the private schools that daddy paid for. BUT really note what follows for his career. He spent one year working outside the Trump organisation in Aspen and even worked for some time as a bartender. HERE'S THE REAL POINT He then went back to the family business in a senior role. On 1 year of life experience he goes past all the other people with years of experience into a senior role.

Australian here and I went to college in America - sadly you are wrong. Bernie would have been slaughtered in a US Presidential Election for the simple reason that the US Presidential election does not follow common sense. The very system itself has now morphed into an unusual form of popularity contest where logic, reason and sensibility are meaningless. Its not that other elections in other countries have similar aspects to them. Its just that the US Presidential election does it at another level. I'm old enough to remember the Carter-Reagan elections and nobody in the world could believe someone as stupid as Reagan clearly was, got elected. The exception were the business leaders because they knew it was the start of a new economic model that greatly favored them. I was actually in America (1987) at college when the 1988 election season was starting. The Dem front-runner was Gary Hart. He was charismatic like Reagan but far more intelligent. Then he was accused of extra-marital affairs and his campaign was done. His wife came out and publicly declared that although their marriage had struggled it was now doing well and she believed her husband was still the best man for the job. THAT DID NOT MATTER and his policies did not matter, because there were Americans who's great fear was the Russians sending girls over to "suck the secrets out of American leaders" AND YES THEY SAID IT LIKE THAT. And this is the point of me telling you why Bernie would never have won a US Presidential election. The Republicans have operated on FEAR for decades. Its their only policy at times. They find something for people to be scared of and wind the volume up to 11. In Bernie's case that fear is socialism. Forget that Bernie's brand of socialism would get every American health care and an education. The fear to America is that he'd tax the rich to pay for it and if you tax the rich they'd stop investing in jobs for average Americans. The GOP sell that as "Forget what you'd get and embrace the fear of what you'd lose." Sorry, but its an incredibly easy tactic and the Republicans have decades of experience using it. They either scare people into NOT voting for a person who wants to make their life better or they scare people into the arms of the guy who says he will protect American values.

Sadly Fetterman has now proven that you MIGHT have morals and ethics on the way into politics, but no matter how strong those morals or ethics are they are NOT going to survive the modern political environment. I'm Australian but went to college in America. So I have exposure to the American system. Back here in Australia a good friend was involved in student politics (at the collegiate level). Its used by our political parties to sort out who should and who shouldn't move on to state of federal politics. So its a nasty vicious environment where morals an ethics are literally beat out of them. Its like the Hunger Games where the survivor/winner gets endorsed for state or federal politics. Its a really nasty vicious system that kicks the morals and ethics out of all who participate. If they're smart (and my friend was) they get out before its too late. This is visible all across western politics with the people attached to the establishment parties. They don't want candidates who want to get in and do a job they want people who can get elected, stay elected and have no morals or ethics that might get in the way of what the investor class want.

I don't think we'll need to worry that much about AJ (and the rest of these people) much longer because sooner or later someone from one of the families of the victims is going to lose it. Imagine how much pain some of these people are in and it starts pounding away at them. Vice did a great doco on these people a couple of years back -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=To91BJGKr5I Look at the comments on the Vice video. People like AJ are sick and somebody will lash out.

My joke has always been. What did the MI6 assassin say to the CIA assassin? "You're tying the knot wrong." To which the CIA assassin said "Just shut up and hold him still. Remember no bruising or they might get suspicious." Then the Mossad assassin at the door told them both to be quiet because the guards were only paid to be gone for 1/2 and hour.

@Eshu666 Scroll up: Hulk Hogan Paralyzed From Waist Down After Surgery If that isn't identifying or making a crystal clear statement then WTF is?

ACTUALLY THERE'S NOTHING NEW IN THIS. The IDF has been sniping children with head shots for years. I remember in one of the earlier Intifada's that at one stage there had been around 27 Palestinian youths shot dead by IDF personnel and all but 1 had been a head shot. The question was put out publicly and never answered: How do trained marksman from one of the best trained militaries in the World consistently hit children in the head? Just as importantly why are they trained to take head shots when the most common practice for all soldiers is to aim for the chest also referred to as the CBM or "Centre Body Mass" because its a larger target and easier to hit?

@elijahfordsidioticvarietys8770 He's a trust fund baby. Check his background his stepmom is from serious big money. He's quite disgusting in his behavior and attitude about wealth. When Rutger Bergman called him out on it he went nuts, just to prove how much a brat he is. ** I said brat to not upset the YT algorithm

Funny how he mentions the Tech Giants but then ignores the Big Oil and Big Pharma??????

You forgot to mention the REAL THREAT She has a functioning brain.

If you consider making a public spectacle of your own ignorance and stupidity is a KPI for success then yeah Dave Rubin's a success.
11
You are absolutely right except you missed the difference. Here's how I'd put it. NEITHER the Democrats and Republicans support the interests of the bottom 90%, its just that the Republicans are better at selling the myth that its the other guy's fault.
11
It should be but considering The Panama papers came out, NOTHING CHANGED and NOBODY went to jail. The Paradise papers came out, NOTHING CHANGED and NOBODY went to jail. Sadly this won't be any different. We should simply accept that the game is rigged and as George Carlin said its "a club and we're not part of it."

Its not just American politics. I'm Australian but went to college in America and our politicians have been doing the same for years. Out politics might not be as toxic, but we are getting there. I was in Canada 3 years ago and it was similar there. Watching what has happened in Britain - its the same there. This whole "we must win the next news cycle at all cost" mentality is worldwide. Its just more toxic in some places.
11
I agree and here's a couple of points. 1) I'm Australian but went to college in America (let 80s). I used to feel embarrassed how well informed my college friends were when it came to how well they understood HOW America FUNCTIONED. I did engineering but a bunch of my friends were pre-law and they used to drag me into various conversations. I got an interesting education in arguing points about the US Constitution. What I remember more than anything else was how well informed they were about their own country and that was irrespective if they were pre-law or anything else. The reason was they had all done CIVICS in high school. 2) Because its surprised me how that's changed in the last 20+ years - I ASKED PEOPLE WHY. The answer I was told was George Bush and Dick Cheney defunded Civics in the early 2000s. 3) SO YOU KNOW - As an outsider who has seen the difference between having and not having an effective civics education I am a advocate of Australia doing an Australian version of the old US civics program. To put that in perspective if you asked the average Australia about copying anything from the US Education system you'd get laughed at or told to FK-OFF and yet I'm saying we should do our own version of this one thing.

@cablehogue599 I wouldn't call Roger Waters a peace and love hippie. Certainly Pink Floyd was counter establishment but I wouldn't have ever called them hippies at least in the general sense.

About the same for me. A while back I watched a couple of his lectures that were from a few years back (from before his got into the political stuff) and he was a pretty good college professor who knew his subject and handled questions from students really well. I just watched one of his podcasts on climate change with Dr. Richard Lindzen. Its not a podcast I'd recommend to anyone unless they understand various topics especially complex system modelling. because its not so much what they say BUT WHAT THEY LEAVE OUT. I studied aerospace engineering and got trained in complex modelling and complex systems analysis. Stuff like aerodynamics, complex structures and spacecraft dynamics. They were both very right about the issues with research funding at universities. But then Lindzen is also incredibly dishonest in a few times. He does NOT lie about anything but he LEAVES OUT information on complex system modelling. Unless you have a background in that stuff you'd never spot it. Where Peterson really shows his colors is in his repeated references to people like Alex Epstein and Bjorn Lomberg who are 2 of the most dishonest people on the planet. They're first class gold medal cherry pickers with data & information and both are very sneaky how they present it. They aren't alone but the same sorts of discredited people keep turning up on podcasts (like the one Peterson hosts) where they know they WONT be challenged. I noted Peterson also had on Dr. Jay Bhattacharya who's been totally discredited and yet keeps turning up on these sorts of podcasts which profess to be honest public discussions but just aren't. I watched Bhattacharya and Economist Gigi Foster on Jon Anderson's (Former Australian Deputy Prime Minister) podcast and they STRAIGHT OUT LIED about Australia's COVID response. And I don't mean they made a mistake they outright lied. Especially Foster who's just a disgusting liar. It was some of her information that Saagar Enjeti made an clown out of himself last week.

@EhThisIsAGoodName Good points but as to nations considering America as a threat to peace, that's not so clear. I'm Australian and certainly there would be Australians who consider that right, but as a nation that's not strictly true. The one thing that has dramatically changed is America's reputation. Prior to 9/11 POTUS was often introduced as "The leader of the Free World." Most Westerners took that with a grain of salt considering it more hubris that fact. But these days if anyone tried to introduce POTUS with that expression they would be laughed from the room. I actually went to college in America (late 80s) and was there during the time of Iran-Contra. My girlfriend at the time lamented one day about the "damage being done to the office of the President." It was an odd expression that took years for me to grasp. There was a time in America when the OFFICE not the person occupying it was a semi-sacred place that deserved RESPECT. My girlfriend was lamenting the damage being done to the office and not Reagan. I'd now contend that every President since has continued to erode that respect. Bush 1 with "read my lips no new taxes" and then came new taxes. Clinton - blowjob (say no more). Bush 2 started a war based on a lie, opened a gulag in Cuba and then signed off on torture as he threw out the Geneva Convention. Obama promised "hope & change" and was hopeless at bringing any change. What ever was left after Obama Trump simply obliterated. If there is any perception of threat its more in the "what if a worse version of Trump gets elected in future?" Almost a bigger question is - what does that even mean? Australia (like a few others) has backed the F35 as a key part of its future security. What might another Trumpist who sucks up to dictators mean for that or any other long standing cooperation or treaty. I was in Canada when Trump tore up NAFTA. I was there among Canadians as Trump literally told them to F--K OFF. Its hard to describe what that moment was like. For an Australian it was like - what's he going to do to us. We found out when China retaliated against Australian exports. So I wouldn't yet describe America as a threat to world peace, BUT I would have no hesitation in calling America an UNRELIABLE PARTNER. And that's a scary thought considering the Chinese plans for domination.

"The greatest threat to American democracy is the American people!" - Larry Wilkerson.
10
yeah Bill Maher - another disconnected media millionaire who thinks he knows how average people feel and that everything that comes out of his mouth is pure gold. New rule Bill - Wake up or Shut TF up.
10
Australian with an observation and its the same as I just put in another thread but its even MOR pertinent here considering the very first reply in this thread. FYI - I went to college in America and from personnel experience I saw the GENERAL population of America show great RESPECT to those who'd served. There's that moment in "A Few Good Men" when Sam asks Joe (Demi Moore) why she liked the 2 marines they were defending. Her reply is one of the most pertinent reasons WHY people (unless proven otherwise) should respect those who serve in the military. Demi Moore's character was asked "Why do you like them so much?" Her Reply was "Because they stand on a wall and they say nothing's going to hurt you tonight. Not on my watch." When did we collectively find it convenient to allow ANYONE in politics (and it happens in Australia too) to denigrate people who had served with dignity and keep the rest of us safe?
10
Don't forget all the Fox News people are millionaires paid for by billionaires to tell people that its the billionaires they need to send money to not the government who might pay for things that are actually needed or the general population wants. Secondly if its Larry Kudlow speaking then you should automatically realise that is idiotic garbage from a clown. The only reason anyone should listen to Larry - is so they know what the billionaires want to strip from the world next.

Another engineer here and I agree. Bridges are NOT designed to take a hit like that. I was just watching Sam Mercoglianos YT channel "What's going on with shipping?" and he's THE BEST when it comes to shipping news. He's the sort of person others are talking to and Kyle should start showing some better judgment and simply asking guys like Sam what's happened. Couple of points Sam brought up. - The bridge was built around 1977 at a time when container ships were much smaller. - The MV Dali is a 10,000TEU ship which is less than 1/2 the size of the ship that blocked the Suez BUT its still around double the size of anything that was around when the bridge was built. I CHECKED and in 1980 (a few years after the bridge was built) the Neptune Garnet was the largest container ship in the world at 3,268 TEU less than 1/3rd the capacity of the MV Dali. As to Kyles "It looks fragile" comment, he can go jump. I wonder how many times he went over that bridge without EVER considering its structural integrity. This is one of those moments I HATE YouTubers who mouth off without any thought.

Another Oz (Victorian) here. I got caught out of state and its cost me close to a year of my life being in limbo, but I also have been watching the numbers and we could have had it so much worse. https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/ I actually went to college in America on a sports scholarship - U. of Illinois. On October 28 Australia had 2 deaths and on November 30 1 death. In the same time Illinois with less than half the population (12.6 million to 25.6) had over 3000 deaths with its BEST day at only 25. On December 2 it was 266 dead. I had 4 thanksgiving holidays there and its about to escalate and then get even worse after Christmas as winter hits. I just hope that the next time I visit the states its to see friends not visit graves.

Good summation. 👍👍

As I just said to someone else. He's simply like so many of the less talented people in the entertainment industry, he's an attention seeking narcissist who thinks every time he gets attention its good.
9
I'm Australian but went to college in America (late 80s) and I can remember telling my friends that America could not keep going down the path it was on. The signs were subtle but if you looked you could see they were on a slippery slope. The unrestrained free-market capitalism they advocated was obviously flawed if you scratched beneath the surface. Don't get me wrong I am NOT against the free-market as its shown for mass produced goods with many suppliers, variety of options and a broad end user base its fantastic. BUT for things like this drug where there is only a single supplier (as in a monopoly) or limited supply it just doesn't work. There's an odd flaw in American society and that is they can't grasp well the idea that something that works well in one place might not work well in other places. I don't think that's unique to America or Americans but they certainly seem to do it worse than most other people or at least louder than other people.
9
@lurx2024 YES - its all variations of the same theme. Interesting side note: Penn Gillette the magician recently turned his back on the Libertarians. I don't know why but for years he'd been a staunch Libertarian and was involved with the CATO Institute. For years his friends had told him that Libertarians were just a bunch of selfish old white guys who didn't like being told they could NOT do as they liked. I don't know what changed his mind but a couple of months ago he admitted his friends were right and turned his back on the Libertarians and CATO Institute.
9
@michaels9666 That's a good point and its the main part of another thread above this one started by "Mr. Gaudy" where he brings up the same point with Caitlyn Jenner. How do these people not see what's so obvious? America's political right is also very fundamentalist Christian and that goes all the way back to the Reagan era. 🤷♂️🤷♀️🤷♂️🤷♀️
9
What do you expect from her kind? Remember when Hilary was still blaming Bernie Sanders almost 4 years after she blew here own campaign. This is just another display of self entitled politicians demonstrating how disconnected they are.
9
Because he's just like so many other politicians across the entire western world. They are incredibly good at playing the "I'm so reasonable and practical and have our best interests at hand" card. Look at how he speaks and his general mannerisms. All calm, control, reason and practicality while at the same time he's being insanely hypocritical. Openly with the mouth -> "we can't blackmail others or hold them hostage" In silence -> "I am going hold you hostage and choke you to death." Its what Kyle tries to explain and does decent job of. What he misses is this is how Western Democratic politics works everywhere. Its just in some cases the do it right out in the open like this. FYI - I'm Australian but went to college in America. What I watch here about America I can look over my shoulder and see the same shite right here. I was in Canada a couple of years ago for work and saw the same stuff there. If I watch the British or European news same shite different accent.
9
I watched the whole lot as well, but I had to stop a couple of times because of the frustration. I honestly don't know how David does it. I suspect he's got a couple of very good researchers. I know he has that one assistant who steps in for him at times., but I suspect a couple of others who actually know how to dig up facts. Pakman isn't perfect and I have seen him get a few things wrong, but he's very sharp on most things.
9
On the losing front do you know that people from her campaign went on and helped Australian Labour lose an election they should have won and then went on and helped British Labour to a disaster. I'm Australian and found that out from a Brit when I asked why British Labour ran a similar campaign to Australian Labour's losing campaign that had hints of Hilary's campaign. Their answer was all 3 campaigns had the same strategists involved. Think about what the DNC machine did to more recent campaigns like Andrew Yang's run for NY mayor? 1 question in the street and it was OVER. Why was that question even asked and why was he so badly advised and prepared? Look at Nina Turners run in Ohio and how nasty that got? FYI - I went to college in America and I hate what both parties are doing to the place.
9
Good I'm not the only Aussie watching Kyle. Good points all round, I just watched Saggar Enjeti over on Breaking points make a mess of this. Kyle even makes a pretty bad mistake at 6:15 when he says Sky News doesn't have the connections. They are part of the Murdoch Empire and they certainly have the connections. What he and Sagaar both screwed up is that Alan Jones was forced by Sky Management to correct himself on air. That's the first time I have ever seen Alan jones apologize for anything. For the Americans Alan Jones is our equivalent of Sean Hannity and he NEVER APOLOGIZES. The other thing they both missed was that one of the others banned by both Twitter and YouTube is a sitting member of our Parliament Craig Kelly. He's the equivalent of a Congressman in the House. He's a far far far right winger who has been in trouble several times over recent years for climate change denial and other conspiracies. He'd be right at home as Australia's US Ambassador if Trump wins in 2024. For anyone else watching we have a program called Media Watch. Its on Australian ABC our equivalent of PBS so don't be confused by the ABC it has nothing to do with the American ABC. Here's their report on this starting at 3:21 -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gnPgDf8RFR0 This is the original story presented 2 weeks ago starting at 3:29 -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Df1Fnw2M6f4

I'm Australian but went to college in America in the late 80s. I was actually there during 1 campaign season and thought that was bonkers, but this stuff is out over the cliff edge. Right now America is barely recognizable as a functioning state. Other than the mass shooting events there's all the other issues that affect the entire world (climate change, education costs, trade,...) and a malfunctioning America doesn't help anyone. We don't even know how to describe the Feinstein situation or the Pelosi link to it. And that's all before we get to Trumplestein, Elon or the AI bots you guys have released on the world. And so you all know its NOT YOU and the other 90% of Americans I'm talking about. Its the 10% or so at the top who are just driving the entire planet nuts.
9
I'm Australian but went to college in America (U. of Illinois). In 1984 spent my first thanksgiving in Bardstown Kentucky. My friends worked at Makers Mark and I actually got a taste of raw Makers Mark from the cask. I have nothing but nice things to say about Kentucky. Beautiful place and friendly people. I was back there for work in 99 and caught up with the friend I spent that thanksgiving with. It staggers me that for such an awesome place Kentucky has some of the worst politicians on the planet.
9
All she has done since losing to Trump is prove she was never good enough in the first place. That's a sad, sad truth - she was never good enough in the first place.
9
@shrubsangry And you have just described 99% of the people who produce political and social commentaries on YouTube.
9
FROM AUSTRALIA: As I was watching this I clicked onto our news services and there was Marco Rubio (LIVE) going on about his family's experiences with the lead up to and the outcome of the Cuban Revolution. That was from one of the clowns who has supported and supported and supported Trump. He was one of those Senators who voted "innocent: at Trumps impeachment. *Does he not realise the whole world watched what he and others did to fuel this? * Trump might be embarrassing America everyday but so are all the people who MADE THIS DAY HAPPEN by enabling this lunacy. Here's an interview that was just shown here about the situation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GYlimLgCuEI To all the sensible Americans - know and understand that you have friends in the world who want to see this end and America be what it can be. My one great fear is that Biden only wants to take America backwards in stead of forwards. The Oligarchy has to end and he has to re-engage and look after the other 99%. To all Take Care & Stay Safe. 👍👍🦘🦘🦘🦘🦘

I'm Australian and looking from the outside in YOU are 100% CORRECT. This will change ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. One of my old bosses here in Australia is a 100% Trumpist. He's NOT American, he's Australian and NOTHING, not any fact no matter how irrefutable will change his mind. It all comes from the fact that his support base comes from the Bottom 50% of developed society that has been left behind. In late 2022 I became aware of a Congressional Budget Office report on Family WEALTH. Kyle is one of the very few people to ever comment on that report. I emphasis that its on WEALTH and is about what people gain over time. It simply says that the Bottom 50% of America society has gone NOWHERE since that late 70s. They have basically gained NOTHING while the Middle 40% have gained some but the Top 10% have gained double digit Trillions. During Obama's last 3 years in office (less than 10 years after causing the GFC and getting bailed out) the Top 10% gained $18.3 TRILLION. The Bottom 50% of America gained $0.4 Trillion ($400 Million) over the same 3 years. I checked what I can of Australia's data and it tells the same story. I watch British Economist Gary Stevenson's channel here on YT and he says the same about Britain. These people just don't car about any of these stories. They see Trump as their wrecking ball and bulldozer who's just going to tear the system apart. They don't care what comes afterwards just so long as the system that's wrecked and squeezed their lives into oblivion gets torn apart. I can't blame them for hating the system and wanting it ripped to shreds as its totally understandable, but they need to care about what comes afterwards because we all have to live with it.

Aerospace Engineer and Pilot here: NO - we simply don't ever let her fly anywhere again. On any commercial flight of any type the pilot in command can REFUSE to have a person on the plane on safety grounds. Since she has NO respect for pilots and is willing to risk other peoples lives then that's cause. Maybe its a slight cause but its still a cause to NOT allow her on any plane again EVER!

FROM THE TRANSCRIPT AT 0:26 "it is interesting to see how under scrutiny when people really take the look at these bills how brilliantly the single-payer plan stands out" The highlight is mine and I deleted the 2 "uhs" to make what she said clear.

Your wrong they are not locked up they are institutionalized under a court order. What ever this guys issues and psychosis are there are beyond what any society should deem acceptable. The fact he uses a strategic term like "escalation dominance" as easy as he breaths air should scare the shite out of everyone.
