implementing Brexit needed Westminster leaders with a backbone. therein lies the problem.

@ashleywilson2072 so if you believe the government should allow second homes to be occupied by the homeless, what other property should be confiscated by the government? any family that has 2 cars? any family that has a spare room in their home? where do the rights to have private property end in your Marxist world view?
8
because it is an easy country to convert to the Sharia and Islamic state they so desire.
8
@lesgamester7356 yep, and Henry Seventh succeeded Henry Eighth, all makes sense in Lammy World.
8
totally deluded about how things are going in Ukraine. also, totally deluded about how damaging government hypocrisy on covid was to the morale of the country
8
Guardia Civil really screwed up. The answers lie with the 2 strangers who were interviewed, and then, unbelievably, released. 12 days searching with drones, helicopters, dogs in an area where Jay never went is just lunacy.
8
"illegal seizure of Crimea by Putin". Hitchens, after the coup in Kiev that you so criticize, the Crimean Parliament in Simferopol voted 78-0 to separate from Kiev! A subsequent referendum confirmed that parliamentary decision! That is DEMOCRACY, nothing "illegal" or "seizing" about it, you fool.
7
@peterholden3672 yes, do you remember Starmer's famous speech about ensuring the Pakistani rape gangs will face 24 hour courts and immediate convictions and imprisonment? No, neither do I.
7
What is simply stunning, in Britainistan 2024, is to learn such a welcome addition to the nation's diversity was refused TWICE for asylum! Two clerical errors in a row is a rarity in such cases.
7
the very fact that they keep talking about Rwanda and barges shows they have no will to stop the boats coming. pointing fingers at "criminal gangs" is a way of saying that the bad guys are those who help migrants come to the place that welcomes them with open arms.
7
yeah yeah yeah, throw more money at the problem and things will get better, but they won't we all, know it. just take a look at the homicide rates in Jamaica, Bahamas, Trinidad and it explains everything.
7
"what on earth are you thinking? what on earth are you doing that for? after 30 years of being on the receiving end of Muslim and immigrant violence, the native Brits are enjoying their turn, having their say. what's so difficult to understand?
7
@sarapu-lw6nr not at all. unlike you, all my sensitivities go out to the innocent victims of Jay Slater. unlike me, you are wringing your hands for a thug and a thief, and not one word of mention for those that suffered at the hands of Jay. you are truly heartless.
7
When dear Imane shouted out "I am a woman" was it in a bass or tenor voice?
7
@LoremIpsum1970 they were not naturalised. they were awarded British citizenship but nothing in their nature was British at all.
6
@EllanaWolf well, clearly, I do know better than the "professionals"! I called for a forensic search of the airbnb on Day One. The "professionals" decided it was a brilliant idea to do a forensic search on Day 16. which of us was correct? you tell me!

Chris Parry's ignorance about Russia exemplifies how NATO has become such a pathetic force. Totally wrong, yet again. Shoigu is on record as having told Putin he wanted to retire and go fishing, and Putin convinced Shoigu to stay on for the SMO and until the election. The election is over, Putin won, time for Shoigu to retire. No conspiracy theories needed, thanks, Parry.
6
If Putin would end mass immigration, abandon green policies and reduce energy prices, I would welcome his march across Europe and seizing control of the woke West.
6
@georgechickful you make my point for me. in the UK, voicing your opinion on so many subjects gets you a right dressing down from management. in many other places, diverse opinions are welcomed. In Russia there are so many things you can say and no one bothers you. these days you film yourself playing piano in a train station in London and you get a dressing down from the Police because Chinese people are upset. Russia has so many freedoms that have been stolen in the UK.
6
@reddyreddy2618 yes, she is, because a one-eyed witness and one eye-witness are one and the same!
6
@dorianissock732 First and foremost, it's in a country's interest to forbid immigration to anyone who brings no discernible benefit to the host country.
6
Just reverse the current law that insists asylum can only be claimed from within the UK. Make it law that asylum can only be claimed from outside the UK.
6
Ben keeps missing the point that it is legal to enter the UK and claim asylum. That's why none of them are ever arrested. The law needs to be changed so that all asylum claims need to be made OUTSIDE of the UK. THEN anyone entering with no documentation would be illegal and could be returned.
6
@Mylostsock11 exactly....moral of the story, make as many threats as you can and the UK police will tell those who oppose you to go home and shut up.
6
you know you've lost when it is accepted we can't stop illegal immigration, so now we have to focus on flying a few of them to Rwanda
6
Starmer is still trying to figure out what a woman is, please don't confuse the poor child with complex questions of ceasefire, or no ceasefire.
6
@NM-qt3oi not at all. if government just deregulated the whole of the housing market and set stiff penalties for property damage, landlords would be prepared to offer basic accommodation at affordable rates to those who work.
6
if "long-term sick" includes the obese, then that number is remarkably low.
6
The French have played this game perfectly. They get paid to appear to do something about a problem that is not theirs, in fact it is in their interest to get the migrants out of their jurisdiction, and they get to blame the UK for being such a powerful magnet for migrants. the problem lies with Westminster, 100%, not the French. The laws need to be changed and the boats forced back to French waters, and if the French object then the French need to be told that it was France that admitted these migrants into France, and therefore it is France that is responsible for them. Take the UK to court if you want to.
5
@Nobody-s2j9q that's good. just be aware that millions of people in the UK would prefer you to go home and not be in the UK, and that millions feel they want their country back, with no immigrants at all. I'm sure you understand such sentiments.
5
@Maugirl2 good point, never doubt the eco warriors penchant for sabotage
5
simple.....deregulate the rental business, and let the free market sort it out. if you approve of the rental contract you are offered and the property is acceptable and you can afford it, sign and move in. if any of the 3 factors above doesn't apply, keep looking. mass immigration will always push prices up, so all of you who say "migrants welcome", welcome to high rental charges
5
"the Police said the Rayner case was not worth looking into" so, just like burglary and car theft then.
5
sniffer dogs can't find a corpse in the sea.
5
just reverse the law and insist all asylum claims must be made before arrival in the UK.
5
it's a simple fix. Pass a law that states all claims for asylum must be made before entering the UK. That would then mean anyone trying to enter the UK with no asylum granted could, legally, be turned back immediately.
5
it is how totalitarianism works. fear that the other side might say something that makes sense = panic and urge to shut up the speaker that might make sense.
5
"hard to see what else this could be" only if you are a biased BBC reporter, that is.
5
There is no such thing as a "people smuggler" given that it is perfectly legal to arrive in the UK and then claim asylum (which is why no one is arrested in Dover, they are all legally in the UK once the words "I claim asylum" are uttered). So, the "people smugglers" are just travel agents, providing the transport needed to carry out a legal journey. Talk about focusing on the wrong component of the problem!
5
@kev_naughty oh yeah, Depression, the go to guy whenever you feel the need to excuse laziness, ineptitude and nonchalance.
5
exactly. only when asylum must be claimed from outside the country will it change.
5
so, the Guardia Civil announcing that the body has been found means there was no foul play and it confirms, 100%, that Jay was walking back to Los Cristianos? sounds like if you assume that, you are one of the conspiracy theorists!
5
@primafacie6442 it is a very humbling defeat for the West to see the orderly and cohesive, identitarian way of life in Russia that the West has lost
5
@KeithMoon-yz5gi the man who thought it was a really good idea to have 5 kids and then expect others to help finance their upbringing?
5
the terrible events were not the riots. the terrible events were Jenrick and co allowing waves of mass immigration to destroy the fabric of the country.
4
only 2 changes have to be made. 1. reverse the asylum seeking process, so that all asylum claims must be made outside the country. then it will be illegal to enter UK waters without proper documentation (at the moment it isn't, hence no one gets arrested). 2. instruct the RN to return all small boats to France, where the French have already accepted these migrants as being in France legally.
4
@LoremIpsum1970 the whole "integration" argument always assumes that the host country wants immigrants here, and that the immigrants want to integrate. I would suggest that both those assumptions are wrong, hence the mess we are in.
4
@briggs982 why would Jay steal an AP or a Rolex if he had no money problems?
4
@briggs982 Jay might well have swooped and picked up the watch, and/or Jay might well have been part of a group that planned the mugging. The report I read said the victim was from Eastern Europe. Either way, I thought your argument was you can't be comfortably off one day and cashless the next. which is just an absurd argument.
4
@dmagz0121 looks like you don't know the difference between a personal experience and a shared experience.
