@awf6554 Was same as Kennedys choice.
1
@awf6554 US removed nukes from Turkey and promised not to invade Cuba as a deal.
1
@erlenddalen4515 In reality yes if the occupier strong enough to keep.
1
@joekrusec9066 Check US government servers for transscripts, but even Reuters had an article about it long time ago. The promise was real. Not an inch...
1
@Mega6981 That is why they are retreating towards West.
1
@stevesmart2545 Wot? They leased the port, but after 2008 Nato wishes appeared and many anti russian politicians wanted to cancel the lease. Russia disagreed after Maidan.
1
@liamdolly887 In an unlawful war.
1
@awf6554 Listen Mearsheimers 2014 speech on Chicago University. Monroe doctrine, etc.
1
@erlenddalen4515 I just noted that giving it to Ukraine in Soviet times was like putting a cent from you left pocket to your right. And yes, the stronger one decides the rules. This is how societies work.
1
@awf6554 And also Cuba crisis was started by US.
1
@awf6554 So what is the point?
1
@awf6554 No. Multiple US interests exist. The first one to keep the US empire as top dog. For that Europe should be a vassal with reduced power in everything, so cutting its ties with Russia is basic interest. An emerging Eurasia is worse for the US than anything else. That part of the Ukraine project is finished successfully. Also US interest to move as close as possible to Russias border as it gives better chances tonwin a possible nuke war.
1
@awf6554 I cannot help if you do not do your homework in geopolitics/history.
1
@awf6554 Because understanding history, context, geopolitical processes of the past help you to understand the present. But I do not think you want understand anything Believing emotion-based pro.pagenda is more friendly approach for people whatever their opinion is or whatever 'truth' they believe in.
1
@awf6554 Your thinking process is lacking contextual/historical knowledge, so it based on the propagandistic 'facts' as you do not know more about the things how geopolitics and power works in the reality and how they relate to each other. That is why I cited Cuba, but you were not able to understand the analogy as you lack the contextual knowledge. I cannot help on that as it also means that you lack almost everything to understand the reasons and processes lead to this Russian countermeasure.
1
@awf6554 So go, learn and maybe a few months later we could talk again.
1
@awf6554 I cannot, I am stupid. Go, learn.
1
@awf6554 Still lacks factual data for your opinion to be based. Factual data is the key to be realist and Europe is a joke as power player. Self determination by law is a perfect excuse for Crimea belonging now to Russia. Same for Donbas. Checkmate. Good night.
1
@awf6554 Self determination is basic human right and does not need to political approval from different sides as a 'theory'. On the other hand Russia asked for the typical observers, who refused, so had observers from other countries. That was even more what West used to organize. They just go in if external regime change does not work and decides who is the next boss. So the double standard here is pretty nice. Also do not forget that international law has its flaws when it comes to soveregnity and self-determination. Typical secession works through bloodshed, not much happened without it (Czechoslovakia worked without blood). But Catalan movement was not accepted as an example as it went again Spain interests, sonthe EU and the morally superior West just looked elsewhere while they happily assisted to the breaking up of Yugoslavia.
1
@peterc4082 Talking about Crimea.
1
@Grouse2275 Practical approach for Europe is to leave Ukraine immediately and normalize relations with Russia ASAP.
1
@Grouse2275 Russia is dominant in nukes over China and China does not want war. They could buy whatever they want from them.
1
@Grouse2275 The only warmonger in the world is US and its puppet vassal EU leaders.
1
@Grouse2275 Russia has no interest to hit nuclear plants anywhere. Anytime. They have tactical nukes with less, almost no fallout.
1
@NiklasVonDyrendahl Then elect competent politicians, not US assets.
1
@melodyprogressive No way brits in EU anymore. We have enough US assets already.
1
@miknew20 BTW I do not like Trump at all but underestimating him is like underestimating Russia. Same for overestimation.
1
@mlann2333 Well if you did not live under a rock in the last decades it should be not a new information for you. The West invaded countries permanently.
1
@SebastianLarsen another joke helicopter from Europe.
1
@ZoltanBojas-ug6nf With US stuff inside Europe could never be independent. The good news is that US will never let Europe to be independent, so no worries. We remain vassals.
1
@richardhasler6718 Because until US intervention Europe had no reason to fear from anything. It was a mostly peaceful continent where people lived in peace together. Then US decided to put Georgia and Ukraine to Nato while Russia opposed it. The rest is history. Say thanks for vassal EU leaders..
1
@LRRPFco52 Finland painted a huge target on its forehead IMHO. They made a stu.peedo move.
1
@a0flj0 Never will have wartime production as the possibility of war here is almost zero, except the US pushes us into a war with Blackrock Herzes and Annalena Brainblocks.
1
@midnike8783 Cant wait for some Gripen suggestions, forgetting the US tech it uses.
1
@TheRobGuard There is no Ukrainian drone technology. That is Chinese drone tech. You could put together in 2 weekends with some mediocre engineers their drone tech.
1
@blacklion8208 That helicopter is a joke, just like Eurocopter was.
1
@Axel_Andersen F35 with pilot works until US does not decide to switch it off. Drone works until it is not fooled/failed by countermeasures.
1
@Axel_Andersen Stealth tech is one of the most important component missing from this war.
1
@yannduchnock Dreaming again. French tech is not bad, I personally love Rafale, but it is far far away from F35 and I would any time choose Abrams over a Leclerc (or a Leo).
1
@yannduchnock That is literally untrue.
1
@Axel_Andersen Cannot and wil not.
1
@MrOneball1 None of these will happen as Europe is not in threat. But Europe will buy more US weapons.
1
@unduloid No. European system are overpriced and in many cases utterly inferior.
1
@KrispyNuggetBoutique No, not in pair. Elint? almost zero with satellites, with awacs. Attack helicopters? Bad joke. Competetive tanks? Kidding? 5th gen fighters? Dream about it. Patriot-level long range SAM systems? Not yet. People who want to fight for EU leaders? Zero. And no nuclear deterrence.
1
@RK-cj4oc Gripen is partially US.
1
@KrispyNuggetBoutique Please update you knowledge.
1
@a0flj0 Europe has not to defend against Russia as Russia has no intentions for war, never had. But after what EU did, maybe they will annex the Baltics and I could understand that move. And no Europe or Nato could do anything against it.
1
@michaelpilos Best weapons like...
1
@unduloid Oh, educate me, please, please....
1
@iivin4233 You are clearly know nothing of great power politics. Europe will never be a power. Cannot be as it is divided and cannot be as it is under US control. Europe had a one and only chance: after the collapse of the USSR integrating Russia to the EU. That was vetoed by US, because US was smart. China is not a threat, Russia is not a threat (yet, because our US asset leaders could change that). Somwhat will happen? We will spend more on US weaponry. US wins, we remain vassals.
