  3. Most people who work as full time employees in a serious job get paid time off. I recall my son, working as a part time clerk in a grocery store, years ago, got paid sick time and vacation time (he got half the amount full time workers got, but still got something) Throughout my career, I had paid sick days, paid vacation days, I could accumulate unused sick pay up to 30 days (company short term disability took over after 30 days). 2 floating holidays, day off for birthday. After 25 years, I got 8 weeks vacation a year! I was there for 36 years. Why shouldn't a railroad worker get the same sort of benefits? These aren't "contractors", these are employees with responsible, full time jobs. I can't imagine teachers, nurses, police officers, firefighters, bus drivers or any number of corporate office staff NOT having these benefits.

  48. I do not understand this concern about "Republican Reps. in districts which Hillary Clinton won." They get elected EVERY two years. So, they were elected when Hillary was ON THE BALLOT to draw out the Dem voters. The Dem Senators up for election in Red States had Barack Obama on the ballot the last time they were elected in 2012. Say what you will about Obama, he brought out Dem voters. The Republican House Representatives who won in "Hillary Districts" did so when Hillary was on the ballot. If they won then, why would they lose now? Seems like Dems should be worried "If we couldn't win with Hillary on the ballot, how are we going to do it now?" States like CA have little draw at the "top of the ticket" There is no competition for Senators in that state. And that is where a LOT of the "vulnerable Republicans" are. Prediction...Republicans keep BOTH the House and Senate.

USA the Supreme Court ruled that the 2nd amendment did NOT apply to weapons which were NOT "particularly suited for military service" in ruling that a person did not have a right to a "sawed off shotgun". The Supreme Court has TWICE ruled that the 2nd amendment protects, specifically, weapons of the type used by the military. The 2nd amendment is NOT about hunting or target shooting.
