  8. You need to remember that the RNC is not going to allow a person indicted on federal felonies to appear on their ballots or debate stages. Forget what the constitution or federal law says, Trump can run for President from a prison cell if he wants, as an Independent, but the RNC isn't required to put him on a Republican ballot. Primaries are party functions, not government functions. NO ONE is entitled to be on a political party's ballot. You may have to write in his name as an independent.

Collectively known as "sh*tholes" This "concern" about the environment, climate change (or whatever they call it this week) is a by-product of the privilege of a modern society powered by fossil fuels, capitalism and entrepreneurship. People living in sh*tholes without those benefits are too busy trying to find, or begging for, a scrap of food to eat to worry about (or paying for) something so ridiculous.

  16. He will be confirmed. Look, this Susan Collins and Murkowski stuff if overblown. Murkowski really LOVES being the chair of the Energy Committee, it assures her re-election in Alaska. She isn't going to risk doing something to cause the Repubs to lose their majority (and her Chairmanship). Collins? She plays the "swing vote" role perfectly. She uses it to get stuff for her state that Maine could never get otherwise. It makes her more powerful than she otherwise could be. She is going to play it to the max right now, because when Repubs pick up 3-5 more seats this fall, she will lose that role. They are both going to milk this for some concessions and then vote with the rest of the Republicans. He will also get 3-4 Dem votes. He will be confirmed by 54 votes.

YOU will pay for it, through higher costs of moving freight reflected in higher prices for goods or tickets for passenger trains. But that's how the world works. Someone pays for the benefits YOU receive in your job, and it isn't the "corporation". When you buy a gallon of milk, for example, you are paying for ALL the costs and expenses of everyone who was involved in putting that gallon of milk in your hands. AND a profit that each person made, from the farmer to the grocery clerk. Oh, yeah...and the taxes they paid.

  33. I live in Florida. I'm an old retired guy but I have been clearing tree limbs and brush off our roads for nearly a week now. I have a chain saw and a winch. Today, the trucks started coming to pick up the debris we have hauled off the roads and buildings. We're all in this together. Morale is very high! Backs are very sore!
