Commercial real estate will be affected for decades as whole swaths of workers and employers work from home, business travel and hospitality will be crushed, people got used to "Zoom meetings". Hundreds of thousands of people retired early rather than gradually over the next 3-5 years. Millions of people no longer go to restaurants or do carry out. Jobs which depended on tips are no longer attractive...not enough customers to produce enough tips to be interesting. Millions of people discovered they can buy anything online This will, for a very long time to come, realign what businesses need to pay for employees at ALL levels. Much more so than any "minimum wage" law could do. They need to compete. They need to offer whatever level of pay and benefits it takes to attract workers. OR go out of business. If it takes $25/hr. and benefits to attract employees to Mcdonalds, then PAY IT, or close the business.

The PPP program was approved by Congress with legislation and forgiveness was part of the legislation IF employers used the fund for employee salaries. The PPP funds went to EMPLOYEES regardless of how large the employer was. Why should EMPLOYEES of a large business be denied the benefits any more than the EMPLOYEES of a small business? Do you hate EMPLOYEES that work for large corporations? Employees who were working were not eligible to receive unemployment...which costs the government MORE than the PPP. It was good business. I learned that with the math I took for the engineering degree I obtained without a loan. This college loan debt "forgiveness" is being done by Executive fiat with NO enabling legislation from a Congress we get to vote for every 2 years. Whether I "like" a piece of LEGISLATION, or not, is irrelevant. If it is passed by Congress, it is following the way our country is sup[posed to work...and that isn't always going to be to my liking. That's life. I can vote for, or against, MY Representative in November evert two years. This is an unconstitutional Executive Order with no enabling legislation. It will very likely be blocked in Federal court, as it should be. And as the non-legislative initiatives of the Covid response were (Vaccine mandates on non-government employees and rent moratoriums)

  13. Yes. Most federal offenses have a 5 year statute of limitations. Some few, very few, are longer. Since I don't know what the exact charges would be, I can't say for sure, BUT it is very possible that many crimes he committed are "beyond statute" and it is very possible that is not a coincidence.

  14. FREEDOM is a lot! From there all is possible. Half of my family lives in Ukraine. 7 of my family members live in one the hardest hit cities, Kharkiv. They are all still there, all unharmed. Nothing left? Who are you listening to? The vast majority of the country, as large as Texas, is untouched. Kyiv is beginning to return to normal operation and cleaning up the mess. There will be good jobs and lots of work for everyone for decades! I expect to see the standard of living in Ukraine raised considerably as the old Soviet infrastructure is finally replaced. The USA is returning to their embassy, most other countries already have. A few cities have been devastated, it is true, and many small villages. So far the loss of life doesn't come close to matching Covid. You have no idea what you speak of. Ukraine will win because they will deny Russia what they want. Russia wants total control of Ukraine and to integrate Ukraine into the Russian Federation. That won't happen.

The OLC opinion had NO affect on his decision not to indict for obstruction. It appeared Mueller didn't read the report.

  24. I'm from Florida and I agree. He will be in a better position to run in 2028 if he serves out his last full term as Governor. I think, since 2020, DeSantis has been the person leading this country. And he would be totally wasted as a VP to Trump. He has much more he can accomplish here. Trump should choose Myra Flores, Kim Klacik, Candace Owens, or Winsome Sears as a running mate in 2024.

The government DOES have LAWS to prevent you from dumping gasoline in the river. The LAWS were passed by both chambers of Congress, signed by the President at the time, and delegated specific authority to specific government agencies. Executive orders are NOT laws. You need to understand the difference. Federal courts with one of the 300+ Judges appointed by Trump will not have a problem understanding the difference.

Look, the BEST we can hope for in the next 4 years is for Senate Republicans to BLOCK every radical Democrat bill until 2022 when they can claim control one or both chambers of Congress (either one, but Senate would be better if they can't have both) and shut it down completely. The won't be able to pass anything because Biden/Harris will veto it, but it WOULD shut it down completely. THEN hold the Senate and House in 2024 a elect a Republican President.

  39. Uninformed lament. It is NOT Congress' job. It's the states' job. Our system was designed and intended to make it difficult for Congress to do anything...and circumventing them with Executive Agencies is not the answer. Our system of government was designed to allow states autonomy. About 95% of federal government agencies should be eliminated and Congress should meet for 2-3 months per year. Not more.

Why didn't you get a good degree that would give you a good job? where does the money come from to pay off the debts (they aren't cancelled, they are paid off by the people who DIDN'T agree to them) The money comes OUT of the economy. So you TAKE money OUT of the economy in one sector and give it back to the economy in another sector. To be more precise, you TAKE money from people who earn it with hard work or marketable college degrees and GIVE it to people to can't get a job with the degree they have. That's STUPID. I do not think YOU, or anyone that couldn't graduate college without student debt, can make better decisions about money than I can.
