I don't know the full ins and outs of it but the split appeared inevitable due to the various shenanigans going on previously and at the time and like the other oil states they wanted to grab control of the money, they will have a good run while the oil is there and will revert back when it's not, none of the oil states has done enough to ensure they will progress afterwards, they will become unsustainable!?!

  10. Blimey Charlie, it will be able to accommodate subs as well, 26% of the Netherlands is below sea level starting from land reclamation in the 1400's (Not 2:00PM but the century!) It just requires competent solutions to the areas involved, not Thunberg economics where "everybody" pays through the nose for something that most probably will not affect the majority. On Wikipedia 5,000 homes in Savanna are at risk of more flooding by 2050, so by that time all the Tennant's just need to be relocated or have flood proof defences, that is the solution, if the port gets affected they will just put it on stilts (Like Venice or Florida or Galveston)!?!

  19. ​ @Len124  Britain likes order, people will majorly queue informally not because they are forced to and the like, but because it's more efficient, not so much bureaucracy although this is required on a little island with a lot of people, it has as many cultural differences as India with 5% of the population of India, so it is not "grey", it would be advisable to bring a brolly to the UK, and then you would see how spectacularly green and pleasant the land is because of the mild but occasionally wet weather!?!

California has abundant sun and sea so its location appears fine, but the reports across the pond "generally" is that the political leaders are running the state poorly with regard to homeless camps, insecurity of neighbourhoods and taking too much tax off productive workers, that seems to be the "theme" portrayed!?!

  23. Is America still apprehensive of the British, we are a little more civilised now, Mostly. We still exist as a nation, we don't really need American support as we just plough our own furrow these days except when anyone steps on our sovereignty. Two Worlds Wars, both not started by us by the way, they were not even "our" wars, but they did weaken the people's resolve for fighting. That's most probably why we gave up India and Egypt and the rest, it wasn't really worth it. Americans glee at Britain's "demise" (We are still doing quite well, we are only a little island) is a bit strange as we don't really dislike America (Only parts of it), and I'm pretty sure that Adolf Hitler was a bigger menace to the U.S. than our half hearted attempt to keep the U.S. under British Rule, if the Germans had won. Britain can still organise things so be careful what you wish for!?!

Well it wasn't so U.S. centric, apart from the Navy convoy bit, which I don't quite get, the U.S. is taking a more introspective role but its military budget is going to be the same, so all the money will be spent on navel gazing in their own backyard, to me it doesn't stack up, there is a big hole in this logic, and it will be in the defence budget. Natural selection = Use it or lose it!?!

The concept that "We" are incapable of doing anything about inflation is how the big companies like you to think, inflation is caused by buying to much stuff other than whats available, so the first thing to do is cut back sharply on buying where possible, with regard to food by the cheaper alternatives and reduce the luxury items and in part grow your own, prices will then fall and be kept low, its economics!?!

Nuclear should primarily be used for baseload power generation, renewables especially wind will be the main power generator, solar needs to work when the sun doesn't shine because most countries can't reap the full benefit from that, the biggest technical problem at present is storing power economically at scale, lithium doesn't seem to be the answer to that, also loss of power in transmission lines needs addressing but if the power is basically free once set up and abundant it's not so much of an issue!?!

  42. ​​ @Andrei-gg7xn  Yes, proven reserves currently are at 50 to 60 years (Including Venezuela and other possibly unfriendly nations), more oil may be discovered during this time but would it be economically extractable is the problem. Europe is on course for being majorly energy renewable by 2035, although certain problems remain like large scale economic energy storage and retro fitting older houses with ground source or air source heat pumps for heating, and costs for upgrading the network grid which may not be upgraded until "after" the renewables are installed and charging infrastructure for electric vehicles at all homes, but at the end at least we will have energy independence for the first time in a very long time. LK99 is still an uproven concept awaiting "the magic piece of paper".

  49.  @cletushatfield8817  The Allies including the U.S. fortunately won the World Wars, the U S. didn't do it on its own. Germany is the Keystone at present which is due to the decisions they have made since the war, it doesn't mean that they will remain the driving force in Europe (They have the worst demographic for a large European Country), as this will change over time. Europe has more in common with North America than most other continents, so I don't see a conflict in the future between the two continents, and trade will continue!?!
