Something IS wrong with this picture, and we don't know what. We need to find. You know, I never thought significant risk of myocarditis in young men from a vaccine would ever be brushed aside like this. What happened to people? How did we get here? Well, we haven't been sending that population into wars in sufficient numbers lately, so . . . maybe this is just reversion to the norm.

I have expertise in federal evidence rules, especially the Daubert standard. I know how to read the major medical journals. You put your foot in it. It makes the case that questions concerning a full cost-benefit analysis of vaccines, by demographic, are well-founded. We don't have the answers. We have people trying to shut down the questions. As a matter of public health, and since the Omicron variant became dominant and the original virus became extinct, many countries' ministries of health have changed their policies and their vaccine recommendations, for various reasons.

  12. ​@scottekoontz Were they counting all 2020 cases as unvaccinated, or are they comparing contemporaneous populations with the same variant? Were they counting one injection as unvaccinated, or were they looking at the vaccine naive? I remember when regions that were heavily vaccinated had as much or more COVID as the unvaccinated regions, and then newspapers like the NYTimes changed the definition of vaccinated to three doses. That worked, for a while. The reality is that only a multivariate analysis can provide answers, and those are very time consuming and expensive to do. But until then, no --- we do NOT know.

  17. He has been threatened by YouTube, and could be banned at any time, with no recourse. This would mean his videos from long before this pandemic would be removed, and he really doesn't want to see that. He has worked in Africa a lot, in medical education, and wants his former colleagues to have full access to the materials.

  30.  @chrism7969  I think that there may be a way to censor the actual giving of medical advice directly to particular individuals, whether that advice be sound or not. It may be excellent advice, but it shouldn't be given, just like a doctor cannot diagnose someone they never met. As for conspiracy theories that do actual harm and defame particular people, the leading purveyors are being sued, and the plaintiffs are winning. Just showing people how that happens should be enough. Another interesting fact is that such theories have at times been planted by various governments, for the purpose of discrediting all critics and making them all appear to be in league with the wackos. Adam Curtis, also UK, has documented this. Some of it is funny. US and USSR/RF have both done it. These days, a Russian troll farm will float a story as an experiment, to collect data on the reaction. They don't care whether they persuade, they want to study what happens. Seems more sinister? Hard to say.

AZ has been discontinued due to the one side effect cited, which we know about ("Thrombosis with Thrombocytopenia Syndrome"). Other -- possible -- side effect(s) are not mentioned as carrying weight in arriving at their decision to discontinue it.

  42. That is not how science is done. Tell me, how do you think various governments, starting with the Israeli government, came to find out that mRNA vaccines carry a risk of myocarditis and pericarditis, particularly in young men? Of course there was a baseline risk of myocarditis, in general and from contracting COVID itself, as well as other viruses. But it was determined through careful multivariate analysis that certain vaccines carried that risk as well. In any case, any one of us can click the link to the Australian government website and see for ourselves that the AZ vaccine was discontinued three weeks ago due to a serious side effect attributed directly to the vaccine: thrombosis with thrombocytopenia (TTS). The Australian government does not state that any other alleged side effect had a bearing on their decision, but this one was confirmed and it is the reason for the decision to discontinue the drug.

The problem is, to answer it, we would have to go back in history to find out the projected harm of swine flu at that time, versus its known harm, and we would also need to figure out the projected harm of COVID compared with its known harm. I hope you realize that currently, we do not have clean numbers on that. Second, there are lots of ways to deal with a novel drug that has serious, unexpected side effects. You put a black box warning on it, you limit use in those under 50, you stop requiring it for anyone. European countries have done all of those types of things, after being hysterical for a while as well. In France, it is illegal to ask a minor about their vaccination status. It's a misdemeanor. (As a practical result, no one is asking anyone.)
