  3.  @gMan-kx3zy  Ha. Montenegro is a sweet piece of real estate for the West. Western banks are looking to loot Montenegro exactly like they looted Greece. Two things about Montenegro: it is very Westernized, this is true -- and it's "organic." Montenegrin culture matches Latin Europe (Italy, France south of the Loire, Spain, Portugal) to a remarkable degree, and has for a long time, and yet the ordinary person is pro-Serb and considers himself a "Serb." It's an odd place. In truth, it has its own history and culture. It's almost a Latin country that speaks a Slavic language, even more so than the Dalmatian coast.

  14. What I don't understand is why Melenchon's performance is not seen as an enormous failure. To come that close to Le Pen, to come out on top in Ile de France and Marseilles, and second in Lyon, and still lose to Le Pen, who is there due to nepotism and is STUPID, is a horrible defeat. To be that clearly superior to her in every way, to be clearly the most competent and hardest working, and still lose . . . Oh no. This is terrible. Edit: 11:25 --- voila what it means!

  27. The New Popular Front has the plurality of seats in the National Assembly. This means they got the necessary votes in the most electoral districts, which gave them the plurality of seats. The overall number of votes was for Le Pen's candidates because the places where they won, they won by large margins. The same type of thing happens here when a candidate for president wins a bunch of states by a slim margin, and the other candidate wins a big state, like California, by a landslide. The one who wins the most electoral votes wins.

  29.  @LVArturs  This is a good summary -- sadly. You did omit the fact that Ukraine has been making war on the Donbass since 2014, but overall, what you've said is on target. The US does not "act" like a bully. Their covert bullying tactics are much more sophisticated, and much less tied to peoples, lands, physical territories, and so forth. They want to control human behavior to its very depth, but without all the muss and fuss, and they are getting better at it in every round, like a self-teaching robot.

  32. I think Putin is responsible for the escalation of the war, and that the escalation changed the nature of the war. Having said that, US paws are all over this one. US blame dates from the beginning of the millennium at least, and they drastically escalated in 2014, starting this war.

  46. You seem to discount the power of Western/Anglosphere propaganda. Think back when the USSR collapsed. (I agree with SFC that it did not have to, by the way.) The Soviets were not so weak relative to Reagan and Thatcher that they had no hope of reforming and continuing. American society, in particular, is much weaker than it seems -- and every crisis proves it. (E.g., COVID followed by waves of riots, drug overdoses, shootings and mass murders) The typical American college grad knows less mathematics and science than a European 17-year-old, or a Russian 14-year-old, and is more likely to need (really need, not feel like they need) psychotherapy. The Soviets folded anyway, because they believed they needed to spend their treasure on useless armaments. Nor did they believe the 1990s would be as devastating as they were. They were too optimistic, actually. The same thing could happen now. Look, Greece is in the state it is for a reason. It blinked. It was persuaded that it had to. Hmm . . . No it didn't. A deft combination of smoke and mirrors, plus the will to be without principles or mercy when embarking on war, keeps the dollar where it is. It's still working.
