ryeable No, he can't think outside the box of acquiring the property of others illicitly. Capitalism started when the people of a village sent their produce to market with one guy who was supposed to trade for what they needed for them as his share of the work. But the guy cranked up his prices and then only paid the villagers what he didn't want to steal for himself. Later, petty thieves called barons used this ill-gotten wealth to buy up supplies of needed things and gouged people for them, while they didn't work a lick. Later, the powerful barons enslaved whole villages and made them serfs. The baron, born no more magically deserving than the rest of them, nevertheless had the gall to suggest that he was blessed of god, and that everyone should do as he said or be thrown off "his" land to starve and freeze. Every bit of capitalism and where it came from was a criminal endeavor at every turn, a dishonesty, a theft.
The future is coming where no one will be permitted to claim to "own" another's home, no matter what excuse. The future will come when people will be paid exactly the same per hour no matter what their job or status, and anything else will be a felony. The future will come when scams to avoid work like capitalism and investment will be barred from existence. It is coming.

virgule888 You are a LIAR!! Everything you cite about human nature has been disproved. When Utah started giving the homeless homes, they immediately began to get off drugs, clean themselves up, and look for work or training. They HAD thought they would have to develop expensive programs to do this, but it happened spontaneously MERELY FROM HAVING A HOME THEY COULD COUNT ON!! It is when you end harsh unmanageable consequence that people flourish and begin to take charge of their lives. People need to see a positive improvement to their lives from working, and then they will do it.
And industries that are run BY THE WORKERS are more profitable and productive, this has long been seen, but they must have a personal and equal stake in their work. As long as CEOs are paid fabulous fortunes by depriving workers of much of their efforts and products, they will NOT be productive or care if they are.
Socialism can give people these opportunities and the security to build their life up. It does so by protecting their homes from eviction, removing the tribute of rent or mortgage, and handing over residences to the people whose ancestors built all of it, and therefore is their rightful inheritance of he earth. Socialism robs back the ill gotten gain of the rich to its rightful producers, and forces the now former rich to find productive work to live.
Socialism is NOT the welfare state, the welfare state is demeaning, and it was invented by the capitalist rich to prevent the people from dragging the rich out in the street and guillotining the lot of them. Socialism is restoring fairness and controlling the economic realm by democracy.

No, Democracy is the means of deciding, it is Democratic. Democracy is NOT an economic system, contrary to American propaganda. The system is economic equality, enforced by the People and their Democracy. You work the number of labor hours the People mandate as the minimum to get free food, all other govt services are free. If you want more stuff, you sign up for more labor hours. We decide that democratically, as a group. Everyone owns their house and yard which no one can evict them from or take away, till they die. There is NO rental. You are given a house at adulthood. They cannot be taxed for property. Homes can be swapped on a state website. Straight across with no incentives or inducements. Tax is removed prior to payment for work, labor hours are adjusted down to cover all public obligations of the state, The People have the obligation to support the ill, disabled, elderly, and children. Incentive has never been required for scientists, they work typically at a basic level of income. They are the kind that if Science didn't pay, they would do it as a hobby. Difficult jobs are assigned to larger numbers of workers who check out heavy tools from govt stores..
