Arnold_Slater1223 They do have a much larger population.

Many countries boycott their products? Can you name some of them? Even India who would love not to buy anything Chinese, is importing close to 9 billion dollars a month from China last year . VW have also invested close to 1 billon dollar to move their ev production fyom Germany to Hefei China. BRICS just expanded by another 5 new members. More are expected to join this year. It's not secret that China is the main driver in this group. True that low value factories like toys and shoes industries have moved to countries with cheaper labor cost. This is a normal progression of a country going up the economic value chain. No one wants to make toys forever. The more educated the workforce becomes the higher their expectations will be. This is all very basic stuff. You are just repeating what everyone else is repeating what everyone else is.......

Xi came in response to an invitation to visit these countries. Why is this deemed as driving a wedge between EU members? So you are saying France and Hungary need to seek approval who they can invite. Serbia is not in EU.
2
There are many private companies in China developing and launching rockets. Like Landspace, Galactica Energy, Orienspace.
2
Tesla uses Chinese batteries from CATL and Byd. Their model Y built in Berlin uses Byd blade battery because its the safest battery tech available.
2
The Chinese Tianwei 1 Mars probe in 2022 achieved something NASA has failed to do, despite decades of space experience. The Chinese craft consist of an orbiter, launcher, and rover was successfully launched all at one go on their first attempt.
2
They have to for the sake of their auto industry. Just check out what VW CEO said recently about the Chinese market and why he is investing a bilion dollars to set up an ev research development centre in China.
2
China invading Taiwan. When did this happen? Must have missed it.
2
I think you nail it.
2
Same stale talking points. Because they sound cool. Just like all those China experts who were convinced their economy would collapse back in the nineties.
2
True. That's why they have been hauled up to ICJ to answer charges.
2
They have a ton of domestic problems to deal with. High crime rate and frequent brownouts are just 2. These should be their top priority.
2
@troelsersking2220 Chinese students and study are conjoined twins. They are not party animals nor social justice warriors like others. Most just want to het an education.Just check how many of them are protesting in US college campuses.
2
Looking to shift the blame? If it was , would becall over their media. Have you seen the Chinese intl airports in Chengdu, Shanghai , Beijing or Guangzhou. Futuristic is the word.
2
@JL-tm3rc Take for example, the shipbuilding industry. US share in the global shipbuilding industry is less than 1%. To rectify the situation, their lawmakers are now proposing to levy tax on all Chinese built ships calling at US ports . They also insist that certain percentage of imports coming from China must be carried by US made ships. The problem is they have lost their capability of building commercial vessels like LNG carriers, container ships or oil tankers. They no longer have the skill manpower to make them. Most ships built there are for the Navy. No matter how much tax they impose on Chinese ships, it's not going to transform them into a ship building giant like China or SKorea and Japan.
2
Does Germany have a space program? Have they launched any rockets into space so far?
2
@jankowalyk7301 Should say this to Australia and New Zealand. They just closed some really important trade deals with China. Australia especially needed it most. They endured long enough.
2
Its no longer 1997. Dont count on Uncle Sam. Their top priority is Taiwan and south china sea and their own southern border crisis. Can Nato deal with Russia and Serbia at the same time.
2
@fosterslover Germany has been selling their luxury cars in China for decades. Made the country rich. Did the Chinese complain and contain them? Are you saying China is not allowed to compete in their ev market but they can sell their BMWs, Audis and Mercedes in China.
2
@richardmangelmann4975 well it's a huge country and they have 1.4 billion ppl. They really got going only from the early nineties. Just 30 odd years to get to where they are today. Got to put it in perspective.
2
@paulhargreaves1497 If you know what's happening in Sweden and France, you may want give it more thought. The Gaza conflict may trigger another mass exodus to Europe.
2
Yeah. Sure. If it makes you sleep better.
2
@Petermc1973 China is waiting patiently. What took you so long?
2
Opposites attract.
2
EU companies desperately need their market. Just ask the VW CEO why he has invested a billion dollars in setting up an EV research and development center in Anhui province China. Rather than in his own backyard.
2
@themiddlekingdom9121 Really nit picking here. The Nanchus are now one of the 55 ethnic minorities and totally assimilated into the Chinese society.
2
He got France to his side with promise of more Airbus sales. Hungary and Serbia are pro China despite pressure from EU.
2
They worship him. What are you going on about?
2
Good job. Go after all these corrupt and greedy oligarchs.
2
@Digmen1 So I can assume you have been living and working in China for sometime, since you know the real China.
2
@ballenboy Obviously its profitable to the producers because the consumers are paying for it.
2
Non stop engine problems with my ICE car. Frequent visits to the workshop. Can't wait to dump it for an ev
2
US still don't have wide 5G coverage or high speed rail. Japan have so far fail in their attempts to launch their rockets.
2
German automakers have a different take on this. They have already moved their research development centres to China. Just ask VW and Audi CEO.
2
Corrupt to the core. No more free lunches
2
Then ask India. They are also close allies of Russia. They too abstained like China and supported Putin economically with their cheap oil purchases.
2
@buildmotosykletist1987 It is. Which is why their corporations sent the strongest ever delegation to the China Intl Trade Expo in Shanghai late last year, despite trade tensions.
2
Don't forget Diego Garcia and Guantanamo.
2
Which is why he's listening to the experts and getting their input. That's why China has surpassed everyone else in many tech fields.
2
Well they are already operating close to 50 nuclear power plants at the moment. Contributing almost 5% of their total electricity production. They have been having these since the 70s if I am not mistaken.
2
@lv3609 They need to because their neighbors are getting more aggressive.
2
@chrisrobert5252 They don't have any in SCS. So no opportunity for any kind of confrontation between both of them.
2
@Harley_Faye47 Here in Asean, Chinese goods including their evs dominate our markets. American goods? Of course they are some. But you really have to look for them. I xantvremember when I last bought anything made in USA. Even my last Levi's jeans was sewn in Vietnam. Understandable. If its sewn in US, I wouldn't be able to afford one. And I love Levi's.
2
So why the administration is so freaked out. It's just a balloon.
2
@GMK189-f2k But not the Central govt. A lot of cities and towns in UK are also going or gone bankrupt. Their second largest city, Birmingham city has gone under. It's like Shanghai in China going bust.
2
@jalend9974 They are already crippled by IMF loans.
2
@tommygun5038 So why don't they and end this madness.
2
China needs Russian gas and oil and grains. They also sell a lot of cars these days in Russia.
2
If you want to boycott don't complain. She won fair and square. Congrats Mdm Hasina
2
