  1. It's kind of ironic when you look at percentages and see that far fewer people are ALLOWED into military service than are selected for college. I got amazing ASVAB scores, but have flat feet (and some minor criminal record) so I was rejected when I volunteered. But my local state University took one look at my 32 ACT score and was like "Write a check, you're in!".

  4. The meter is actually way more complicated than the foot. A foot is just that, a foot, an arbitrary measurement. A meter is “the length of the path traveled by light in vacuum during a time interval of 1/299,792,458 of a second." I can measure a foot with a ruler. But to truly measure a meter you need billion-dollar lab equipment, lasers, way too much complication.  It's easier to just remember a meter is 3 feet 3 inches.

  12. Useless zoomers. I turned 18 and registered for the draft 2 weeks before fucking 9/11. I had actual fear of being drafted. We're a few thousand dead Americans and some crashed airliners short of being even remotely close to a draft.
