As a single guy I do all those things because I'd not expect another person to do them for me, because no person ever has. Men are easy to please and impress because our expectations for most things are zero tbh. Woman or not, my home will be paid off, clean, and my meals cooked and stuff cared for, because no one else can be counted on to do it. Women leave. That's my trauma talking lol, but yeah, OTHER people are not dependable, YOU are. I know many husbands who do all their own housework because their wife doesn't do it up to standards, and it has to be done, so they just do it.

17:30 that's sad, she can't be happy or excited FOR her friend for having that huge life moment to share with HER loving partner, all she can manage is to be sad that SHE doesn't get to have that moment for HER.
My sister PISSED the women in my family off when she delivered both of her daughters because she allowed no one in the delivery room except her husband, because that was THEIR moment, she didn't even do a gender reveal, nope, YOU all get to find out after their born, ONLY HER AND HIM knew leading up. I was fine with that, I even defended her decision to her mother and other sisters, it's her and his life now, they're their own family, respect it.

I guess Im just used to being a man, ain't no one in almost 40 years helped me get home from shit. 30th birthday party, like 20 shots deep, best was a buddy giving me a ride because I couldn't stand or walk to my apt 2 blocks away, and dropped off in the parking lot...leaving the baseball stadium like 13 drinks deep, and all you get is friends pointing you to where your parked and saying drive safe!
As a man you get no help, you learn to never even ask, because you are expected to have your shit together, to do everything for yourself, to adult and handle whatever is happening 101% of the time, 24x7, 365.
It's an astonishing luxury and privilege to live any other way to 99% of men.

Meanwhile my father was married 59 years until my mother passed away, and it BROKE me to hear him tell me he's dedicated to staying single until death, because their vow was till death do THEM part, NOT one another. He's still married and will never cheat, he days. 84 and going strong, she passed in 2020 and I still accidentally walk by and catch him crying over her portrait. Occasionally I join him.
When I tell that story to women, I say that's MY bare minimum, if she can't handle that level of dedication, move on. I'm 41, single, never married, no kids, and regret all of that.

That is the biggest disservice done to us 80s/90s kids, BOX CHECKING THINKING.
For instance, I was told to stay in school, get good grades, so you could go to a good college, so you could get the degree, so you could get the career, so you can get the house/cars/vacations, so you could...win. So you could have the family you're supposed to have.
BUT NOT HOW TO GET ALL OF THOSE THINGS. So here I am at the finish line saying I did the right things, I made it to 40 with no exs or bastards, I got the degree, the job, the house, the farm, the debt free mountaintop, so, where's my issue wife and kids? I checked all the boxes in that upgrade tree, where's the loot?
Oh there's way MORE you have to do than just check the boxes, ah, why not SAY THAT 30 years ago?!
