LBM/YD Once again, and argument from ignorance fallacy. "I can't think of anything better" is not a valid argument. I find it strange that you've moved from "we don't know enough about the universe's origins", to "I know what the likelihood of the universe arising was." The reality is that we have no idea how likely the universe was to come into being. Nevertheless, even if I grant you that its odds are inconceivably slim, this only does you any good at all if you can demonstrate that an interdimensional architect creating the universe is more likely, and you're not going to be able to do that. You aren't going to win the god debate by bringing probability into it.
1
LBM/YD I've already responded to this. You clearly haven't read my response from the time it took you to respond.
1
LBM/YD You realize that my response was twelve lines long, don't you? In those twelve lines I point out that we actually have no idea how likely the universe was to arise. You have completely ignored this point.
1
LBM/YD No you don't. You've been saying this entire time, and your entire argument is founded on "the universe was unlikely to arise." My point is that you do not know that.
1
LBM/YD All possibilities? According to you there are only two, and God is clearly the right one because the other is unlikely. This is what you have spent the discussion saying.
1
LBM/YD And God is the better explanation, how...? By the way "God" is not a concept in science.
1
SomeRandomHarambe Is that the opposite of shut up?

+MetaKnight964 And might the prideful also block people so that they may have the last word? Might the prideful also move to argue against people who can't argue back, having failed miserably to surmount someone who can, hmm?
1
MetaKnight964 Lol. I'm not a sycophant, you fucking moron. No one cares that you block people you can't argue with. It shows you to be fragile little coward, and you are being duly laughed at for it.
1
MetaKnight964 Denial and petty insults? Your lack of self-awareness could quite easily see you thrive as a circus act. Lol. You make rabid accusations towards other people, and deem them "slander" when the same ones are made to you. You're a self entitled child. Get over yourself, dear.
1
MetaKnight964 Yes I do. After that, I don't think you quite realize what self-awareness is. LMAO. And threatening to kill people marks you having gone full internet thirteen year old. No one takes you seriously enough to be intimidated, or upset by you. You are a jumped up simpleton who is being laughed at like he deserves.
1
MetaKnight964 That's very good. You've totally threatened people into submission before! You're very good at being a thug, kiddo. You get a cookie!
1
MetaKnight964 You really are a devout projectionist aren't you? "Also I can see you're butthurt"? I haven't blocked anyone. "killing anyone that opposes your idol"?? YOU have threatened to kill people, kid. Not me. No one finds an obvious thirteen year old threatening to kill them over the internet intimidating. Sorry.
1
Because nobody can give a reason why he is. As you neglect to do in this comment. What you are deeming "sad" is the doing of people like you.
1
@ciskudrillis2086 Can you speak English?
1
@miss.l.c.minister Whether you were trying to doesn't matter. It is what you did. Intelligent people aren't convinced by threats, so if you hope to convince them, try something else.
1
@ciskudrillis2086 Learn the language before you use it to tell others they're not smart.

@William Kotheimer Do you not think Christianity is offensive to anyone?
1
@William Kotheimer Do you not know of anything called artistic freedom?
1
@William Kotheimer But you don't think Christianity is offensive to any other religions?
1
@William Kotheimer So what is this film doing that Christianity isn't? They're both offensive.
1
@moerivera6659 You don't read minds. These are thoughts and motivations you've imagined. You only ridicule yourself when you try to argue by making things up about your opponents.
1
@moerivera6659 I'm sorry to have to tell you this, but the scientific consensus is not that the universe was intelligently designed. The arguments for your position aren't so flawlessly convincing that anyone who hears them is immediately convinced. You have a chip on your shoulder that would be worth dropping. Some people really do just disagree with you. You should have the sincerity to acknowledge that.
1
@moerivera6659 I don't think I said you were intending to convince anyone. I don't seem to have insulted you, either... Whose comments have you been reading? The conceit you've expressed is that the evidence of your position is so convincing that anyone who isn't convinced by it can only be deliberately avoiding it to serve an ulterior motive. You haven't just shared your thoughts. You've tried to tell others what theirs are. You have a chip on your shoulder, and it has you arguing very dishonestly. We could have a proper conversation if you dropped the chip. Ending your disrespectful comments with a perfunctory "much respect to you" isn't compensating for it.

Did you guys deliberately choose a continuity error as the thumbnail?

@peggylittledragon7734 There are atheists who've read the Bible...
1
@peggylittledragon7734 Why?
1
@johnphantom That would also make you an atheist, according to the definition.
1
@johnphantom "read the definitions and try to understand them." This isn't terribly useful. It's a smug nothing. Perhaps you should instead tell me what it is you think I've not understood, or consider that I might understand something that you don't. Do you think that might be more productive?
1
@johnphantom That's lacking belief.
1
@johnphantom It isn't, though. The definition you just cited makes that clear. "a person who disbelieves or lacks belief in the existence of God or gods." If they were the same, there wouldn't be a disjunctive between them. What you believe about the possibility is irrelevant. Belief that there is a god, is what we're talking about, and you don't have one of those.
1
@johnphantom That's not what the definition says. You keep coming back to belief in possibility when it's not mentioned anywhere as a qualifier in the definition you cited. Believing it could be true is irrelevant. Unless you believe it is, you're an atheist. That's what the definition says.
1
@johnphantom I could curse you to Hell right now, if it'd put this point to rest. I don't see how it would conflict with my atheism, though, since I'd be using a turn of phrase...
1
@johnphantom That still doesn't stop you being an atheist.
1
@johnphantom Right. Both of those describe you.
1
@johnphantom Pay close attention: I understand what you're saying. It's just wrong. Atheists can curse people to Hell. Also, what do you think an agnostic being a person has to do with this? All three of them say "a person". We're all people, here. This isn't a relevant qualifier.
1
Duh. Who is death fun for...?
1
@Rotisiv Do you think atheists find death horrifying?
1
They don't, though.
1
@dxsolate A club telling gay people that they're evil doesn't attract many gay members. Would you expect it to?
1
This list is way too nostalgically driven. Shows like The Simpsons and Looney Tunes that have shaped cartoons as they are today are all brilliant, but they're not eternal monoliths. There are some modern shows that genuinely have outshined them.

Anti Trump propaganda!!!!

I refute him thusly...

@dxsolate How would he know, though?
