If Trump was in the WH, I bet there would be a drive to create more fertilizer so the US would have enough and also a surplus to sell to other countries. But it might not have been needed in the first place, as Putin probably wouldn't have invaded Ukraine, and there wouldn't be oil, gas, coal, food, and fertilizer problems.

  21. People forget - and the media NEVER reminds them - that South Yemen was full-on communist and part of the communist bloc. China financially supports the Houthis, specifically, in addition to washing money through Iran. Also, the media ALWAYS fails to mention that China has a base in Djibouti, right across from Yemen. So China has a pincer position on the narrow entrance to the Red Sea and Suez Canal.

Chinese troops were on the field in both the Vietnam and Korean wars. But faking physical war and running other operations instead is mainly what China does, and people need to recognize that. China is more likely to tilt Taiwan through spy ops rather than by open warfare. IMO, recently they assassinated Shinzo Abe and the president of Haiti, in addition to their well-known bribery of high officials (like the Bidens). I'm hardly the only one pointing out that the PLA has zero recent experience in warfare, but plenty of spy ops experience, and that Chinese generals have nothing to lose when sabre rattling, but plenty to lose if war breaks out and their forces get exposed as unready in some way, just like what happened with Russia when they invaded Ukraine only to have vehicles stall out due to chronic poor maintenance.

  24. China is advancing in the Solomon Islands, the Philippines, and Australia. This in addition to New Zealand, which they already own (politically). Biden is a well-known tool of China. I don't have a ton of hope for the Quad. Hopefully Japan and India can hold steady. Taiwan, Japan, and India are enough to prevent an invasion of Taiwan. But they can't stop China strengthening itself elsewhere. As for Chinese infrastructure like the subway cars failing ... that's how Chinese manufacturing works. It's not built to last. No doubt, this summer we'll return to watching the Three Gorges Dam to see if it holds.

And most people living in the west have absolutely no idea they've already been at war, and have been losing, for decades. China has already taken New Zealand and Canada, BTW. They almost had Australia too. Australia was swallowed and on the way down, when it woke up a little bit caused a fuss, and got coughed back up. China is very patient and will work on swallowing Australia again.

  38. IMO, China is preparing itself to "assist" Russia with its security. Taiwan is a silly target for China, when Russia - which has all the resources China lacks - is directly to the north. And Russia is already isolated from the west, so the west would not interfere with a "security" mission where China is merely "supporting" Russia. IMO, Russia's General Shoigu works for the CCP.
