How can you say China will continue to grow at 5% a year when your daily reporting contradicts any kind of overall growth. But then again, we know that it is now illegal to criticize the economy.

@zacksmith5644 She is a messenger, not a policy maker. Xi has already overplayed his hand. Was he so arrogant as to assume the West would continue to bankroll his scheme of becoming the primary global power? A headache doesn't require consulting a neurosurgeon.
1
Try $1.25 (Dollar) Tree. Even the 99c stores have gone into market based pricing.
1
@JO-og5tp China's government backed real estate market was a Ponzi scheme. Embezzlement and local government's corruption has only hastened the inevitable fall.
1
@Tewhill357 I too have been numbed by your moronic daily blather, month after month. As soon as I see the word "His..." I skip to the next comment. Perhaps chiming in elsewhere on something less serious would be appreciated. Fart lighting videos maybe?
1
China's tofu dregs government will soon be too desperate for Russia's petro resources just to maintain the functioning of Chinese society and Xi's hold on power to think about expanding China's new found rôle as peace maker and empire builder. Both Putin and Xi are walking a tightrope of survival as "president for life" in their respective countries.
1
Not as stupid as alcohol.
1
@schloops8473 I believe Xi has "copped an attitude" after it became obvious that the U.S. was not going to bankroll his ploy to become the world's number one superpower.
1
No, not to finish the homes. The $500 billion is for another stack of chips at the craps table. Xi is feeling like his lucky streak is right around the corner.
1
Definitely NOT. A business model based on bribery, manipulating data and mismanaged by an intractable dictatorship is already on track to fail. Japan had none of that.
1
@horridohobbies Chinese unemployment is so high the government stopped publishing numbers back in July. At least 70 1st tier city real estate companies have gone bankrupt, including the 2 largest in China. Evergrande alone has 1 million unfinished units. The cost to complete housing in China that has already been sold is $500 billion dollars. Only 1 of China's automakers isn't losing money despite all of them getting government subsidies. Chinese debt to GDP is over 250%. Manufacturing is down by 80%. If you think Taiwan has bigger problems than the CCP's you're sadly mistaken.
1
Another Chinese pipe dream.
1
BRICS accomplishing anything is a fantasy. Xi's delusion that there is a mechanism to topple the dollar is just that. Chinese and Russian economies are on the verge of total collapse. South Africa is considered a failed state politically. Brazil is hardly in a position to dominate financial markets anywhere. India will not be inclined to haul the dead weight of the other 4 countries. Its ties with the U.S. are becoming stronger all the the time. Any new countries looking to join BRICS will have little to no impact to affect Xi's last shot at avoiding total irrelevance.
1
China is holding $759,000,000,000 dollars of US debt. How about we start reducing the national debt by reinstating an equitable tax system here in the US AND stop bankrolling defense contractors.
1
Watchers of China Update all know that Chinese economic growth is not really growth at all. The numbers are fake based on economic activity, not growth. Counting RMB passing from hand to hand and back again isn't economic growth, albeit reported as just that.
1
The BRI will be a thorn in Xi's side for as long as he remains in office. The Chinese model will prove unexportable in the long run.
1
Biological genetic warfare. What could possibly go wrong?
1
Earlier in the year, some Chinese official (I don't know who) stated there were records for just under 1 billion people. The CCP reported a drop in the population, but nothing on the scale of 100s of millions.
1
The future of technology isn't a computerized surveillance camera that has eavesdropping capabilities. China's R&D was never intended to outpace its espionage efforts.
1
Stop calling him "president elect." Vote totals in 3 swing states (only) were over by 5%-7% of the actual count. Ballots with only a single candidate vote accounted for Trump's lead in those states. This amount of single vote ballots is statistically impossible. In a fair election, the number of single vote ballots is .01%, Compilation of the national totals were uploaded to Musk's Starlink system to determine the winner. The Republicans have rigged another election.
1
The U.S./Mexico border has been closed and regulated since 1934. Our only open border is with Canada. Pull your head out of your ---.
1
@didiermontagnier6114 Stop with the TDS bullshit. There's no such thing. Are you MAGATS going to whine for another 4 years?
1
@mmwosu No, that was never debunked. Trump shut down Obama's pandemic response system that was in place when he left office. Mass vaccinations didn't happen until Old Joe got into office.
1
@spartancrown Whatever you say champ.
1
Will the CCP continue to pay 30% of the production costs for their EVs?
1
The CCP has lost the mandate of Heaven. Time for a new government.
1
China is faking their AI technology. Anything that was a technological breakthrough there was stolen from the West.

Corruption is the basis of the Chinese business model: a merit system of bribes fueling a Ponzi scheme.
1
China's problems are neither the family with 5 children nor the family with 2 children. China's current birthrate is less than 1 child per family. A dwindling population is one of China's biggest problems going forward.
1
Plenty of cheap end-user Chinese crap here in my own home. You name it , it came from China. 3-5 years of use and it's already broken or worn out. Decoupling can't happen fast enough IMO.
1
Horse shit. ARMerica has plenty of money. Having some of it depends on who you are.
1
@stewartbone4236 Hogwash!
1
@juhajuntunen7866 Never finished or never even started, but paid for.
1
China is the perfect place for Kissinger: another toxic waste dump on 2 legs. Part of the problem, not the solution.
1
They just don't get it. Riding rough shod over the Ponzi scheme and bribery system of Chinese business economics isn't going to resuscitate China's financial miracle brought about by free market Capitalism.
1
@YourHineyness Facing a total economic collapse that more than likely would bring down the government, as the alternative to achieving the goal of overtaking the world's number one economy and replacing U.S. military dominance with China's... YES! I assume Xi is interested in pursuing the latter.
1
Homelessness and starvation facing millions in flood ravaged towns and villages around Beijing will soon become a threat larger than unsold properties. That and rising unemployment will soon shake the very foundations of the CCP'S hold on power.
1
@brunoheggli2888 Are you kidding? The Chinese loathe anyone who isn't ethnic Han Chinese. The Uighurs are in slave work camps, and they've lived in the region for 100s and 100s of years. An "immigrant" to the Chinese is someone who came from rural China to work in a big city. An outsider is unthinkable.
1
China knows their US currency is headed for a nosedive with Trump in office.
1
China already planning to build the 1st BRI ghost factory/star base on the moon. What could go wrong?
1
@DK-ev9dg Go troll some fart lighting videos. No one is paying attention to your lies and nonsense here.
1
@mombaassa The ISO dating system is yyyy/mm/dd. I'm not impressed by what you think you know that I don't, but get your story straight before you attempt to one up the next total stranger in the YouTube comments section.
1
$100 billion more dumped into the BRI. Xi is spending money like a drunken sailor on shore leave. As long as the oil keeps flowing, there's nothing Xi won't do for Putin, and the other countries enjoying Chinese largesse.
1
@donEvans27 It's not actually Communism. No free health care. No government backed job security. Money paid into so-called retirement plans has dried up. Authoritarian dictatorships love to label their systems "Communism" but they aren't even close.
1
@rebym The IMF has stupidly fallen for the phony data and absurd party predictions of a dishonest CCP looking to save face by their information manipulation of a pending economic disaster opposite and equal to the economic leaps and bounds of the '90s and pre pandemic 2000's. The only segment of their manufacturing that realized a profit in 2022 was the government subsidized auto industry.
1
@StephenGillie 600 million Chinese are living in abject poverty. That part is still.struggling to develop. As far as China being the world's 2nd largest economy is debatable. If YOU were $5 million dollars in debt, would you brag to your friends about being a millionaire? The CCP has made the wrong decision at every turn.
1
@DancingShiva788 Royal mail used to have a small packet rate for weights under 1 kilogram. It was £7-£8 and would arrive within a week's time. I've had to pay as much as £35 to have 2 antique plates shipped to Texas from the UK. Factoring shipping into the total cost of items is now a serious consideration. eBay now taxes all of its sales also. That's another 8¼% on everything I buy now. The days of great bargains on international shopping are long gone.
1
@bobwatson8754 Thank you. These were replies to other comments. They were already part of a thread.
1
What a myopic view. You're saying that the one segment of the population that was solvent and actually driving the economy should be left holding the bag while the country sinks into a depression. That's nonsense! Turning the entire citizenry into a pauper class is exactly what the CCP is trying to avoid.
