  5.  @landonjackson3064  There are a number of low quality studies, some of which were clearly falsified (copy pasted identifiers and results for instance). There are no double blinded randomised trials published as far as I know, and until or unless there are, there is no way of justifying support for this drug for treating covid. I'll be the first to cheer if any such evidence comes along, but so far, it doesn't exist.

  10. Without vaccines, to have acquired natural immunity across the UK would have involved hundreds of thousands of unnecessary deaths. With a death rate of 1.6% in an unvaccinated population, that's a million dead in Britain (1.6% of 65 million). If that's OK for you guys, then you're sociopaths.

I read the original science papers, not press reports, so I know full well that it's you, the person who pretends that no-one has ever died of covid and who claims to know more about my mother's death than I do, who is denial. I also note that the government came under huge pressure in the press to impose tougher rules over christmas, and they resisted. Turns out they were right to resist.

Please go back to school. 90% of the people in hospital in the UK because of covid are unvaccinated. Again, you really should know this sort of basic stuff.

The original virus, and the alpha and delta variants could not be described as a mild virus, as the millions of dead around the world attest. If we had had no previous versions and Omicron emerged now, then no, I don't we wouldn't be bothering to vaccinate.

They're low grade, self-selecting, self-reporting studies, with no double blinding, no control group with placebos, and no randomisation. Sure, they give a hint that it might be worthwhile doing a proper clinical trial, but no more than that. There is no way on this planet that anyone with any knowledge of public health is going to look at low quality work like that and adjust their policies as a result. I'll be the first to cheer if this drug is ever proved effective against covid, but there are over 30 published studies so far, and absolutely nothing whatever conclusive has been shown.

What really gets my goat is that people refuse highly tested, safe and efficacious vaccines because, amongst other reasons, they say they haven't had long term testing.....and in the next breath advocate for a drug which simply has no evidence in support of it. It's madness.
